Chapter 341
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
In the ward, only the two of them remained.
Sebastian smiled awkwardly. âDonât mind her, Rose. She never thinks before she talks.â
âItâs okay, actually. Itâs kind of nice. She doesnât have any ulterior motives, and I quite like her,â
Rosalie said.
She got off the bed, and bent down to put on her shoes.
Sebastian immediately walked up to her and crouched. âLet me help you.â
He knelt down on one knee, held her ankle, and picked up a shoe.
Rosalie instinctively pulled back.
Sebastian seemed to notice, and lifted his head. âLet me help you, You have low blood sugar. If you
get dizzy again later, itâs not good for the baby.â
He then carefully shipped her foot into the shoe. Even in the simple. act of helping her put on her
shoes, his movements were gentlemanly
and courteous.
Looking at Sebastian helping her with her shoes, Rosalieâs eyes. briefly misted over.
The scene felt familiar. She suddenly remembered the time Theodore. had done the same for her. It
was shortly after they had got married.
âOw, ow, ow!â Rosalie groaned, clutching her stomach in pain and rolling around on the bed.
At the time, she had only been married to Theodore for a week. Theodore had left early in the
morning, and she had planned to go to
school. However, the pain in her stomach was so intense that she couldnât walk.
She had also forgotten to take painkillers beforehand, and now, it was too late. Her painkillers
usually took two hours to take effect, and by the time they worked, the pain would already have
subsided.
Her stomach always hurt badly during her menstrual period. This had been going on for several
years now, but the pain usually went away after two to three hours.
Rosalie was curled up under the navy blanket, trembling. She tossed and turned, occasionally
letting out painful groans, completely unaware that the door had been opened and footsteps were
rapidly approaching.
With a rustle, the blanket covering her head was lifted, and a manâs worried face appeared above
her. âWhatâs wrong?â
A large hand reached up to her forehead. It was sticky with sweat, but her skin was cold.
âTheo, why are you back?â she asked in surprise.
He had gone to the company early this morning, hadnât he?
âThe butler said you didnât go to university today, and that you were in your room all day. I called
your phone, but you didnât answer, so I came back to check on you.â
Rosalie was stunned for a few seconds. At that instant, she even forgot about the pain. He had
returned because of her?
She was in so much pain that her phone had slipped from her hand and fallen to the ground,
causing the screen to crack. Perhaps it was broken, so when Theodore called her, there was no
sound.
Rosalie struggled to sit up on the bed. âIâm fine.â
âYou say youâre fine, but look at your complexion.â Theodore wiped the sweat from her forehead, his
brow furrowing. âLet me take you to the hospital.â
âItâs nothing, really.â She waved her hand. âIâm not sick, I just⦠I justâ¦â
âJust what?â Theodore asked.
Rosalie lowered her head, feeling a bit embarrassed. âI just got my period. Itâs just normal menstrual
cramps. Iâll be fine in a few hours. You donât need to worry. Go back to your work.â
She was in such a sorry state now; her complexion must be terrible. She didnât want Theodore to
see her like this. Everyone wanted to show their best side to their beloved
Theodore was staring at her, but she didnât dare to meet his gaze. She kept avoiding his eyes and
turning her head away. If she had known he would come back today, she would have forced herself
to go to school or leave home.
Theodore pinched her chin lightly, turning her head to face him.
âWhy are you avoiding me?â
