Chapter 57
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
At that moment, Rosalie saw Stephanie poking her head through the door and giving her a signal
with her eyes.
She immediately understood. Stephanie must have helped her out, preventing Theodore from
finding out about her almost having a miscarriage. Thank goodness for that, or it would have been
troublesome for Rosalie.
âSay something! You have the strength to eat the apple pieces heâs feeding you, but no strength to
answer my question?â Theodore clenched his fists, his anger raging.
It wasnât just her coming to the hospital alone that bothered him. It was also because Sebastian was
feeding her. It was a scene that was such an eyesore to him!
Sebastian stood up, his expression turning cold as he put down the container of apple pieces.
âMr. Spencer, sheâs your wife, not your enemy. Canât you speak a little more gently?â
âSo, you do know sheâs my wife,â Theodore said sternly. âThen, why are you here?â
âIâm friends with Mrs. Spencer. Isnât it normal for a friend to be here?â
Friends?
When he heard that word, Theodoreâs eyes flashed with hostility as his gaze turned to Rosalie.
âDidnât you say you met him for the first time at your graduation? Now, youâre friends?â
Sebastian frowned slightly. He and Rosalie had first met at the
restaurant, where they had shared a table. But considering what Theodore and Rosalieâs
relationship was like, Sebastian quickly understood her dilemma and didnât say anything about their
true first meeting.
âCanât we be friends? Do I need your permission to make friends? Have you consulted me about
anything youâve done?â Rosalie retorted coldly.
It was a barrage of questions! If this were a battle, Theodore would have been forced to retreat
repeatedly.
âRose, donât speak to me that way,â said Theodore, trying to keep his composure and stop himself
from rushing forward to punch Sebastian.
âHow do you expect your wife to speak to you, Mr. Spencer? As a husband whoâs slow to react,
sheâd rather drive herself than let your take her. Shouldnât you reflect on your actions?â
Sebastianâs tone was calm, but he didnât mince words. He wasnât afraid of Theodore. Even though
Theodore held power and status, treating his wife like this didnât earn him any favor.
âSebastian.â Theodore advanced towards him slowly. The two men stood almost chest to chest, an
intense atmosphere enveloping them. âAre you asking for trouble?!â
âThatâs enough!â Rosalie anxiously sat up in bed. âTheodore, Iâm already in this state. Do you want
me dead or something?â
Seeing Rosalieâs distressed expression, Theodore felt a pang of panic. He sat by the bed and held
her hand.
âRose, I didnât mean it that way. Itâs just that you went out alone at night without telling me, and then
I came here and saw you two
â 1 together. Itâs natural for me to have questions, isnât it? You say youâre friends, but
Iâm your husband!â
Rosalie closed her eyes in pain, trying not to let her emotions flare up.
Finally, she looked up at Sebastian. âMr. Carter, Iâm sorry. You should go home and rest.â
Knowing his presence would only add to Rosalieâs burden, Sebastian nodded. âAlright, take care
and remember what the doctor said. Your stomach needs care, so avoid foods that arenât suitable
for you. Just throw them away, okay?â
Sebastianâs words were filled with hidden implications. Theodore furrowed his brows, feeling a hint
of discomfort in his heart, but he couldnât quite put his finger on it.
âI wonât forget. Thank you,â Rosalie murmured.
Sebastian was indeed very clever. Every word he said had been carefully chosen, helping her
conceal what was really happening.
As Sebastian was leaving, he noticed Theodore staring at him, so he met the other manâs gaze for
a moment before departing.
