Chapter 9
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âIs anyone else inside?â
Rosalie was very worried that Cynthia was there. If they bumped into each other, it would be
awkward.
Caleb frowned. âWho do you think would be inside?â
Rosalie pursed her lips. âNever mind.â
Caleb gave her a cold glance and walked in. As soon as Rosalie
entered, a strong smell of alcohol hit her.
Theodore was lying on a windowsill not far away. He had one leg hanging over the edge, almost
falling out, and there were all sorts of bottles and broken glasses on the floor!
âHow did you get all the way there?!â Caleb exclaimed.
He rushed over and pulled Throdoreâs dangling leg off the windowsill, then pushed his friend into the
room, fearing he would fall and get
hurt.
Caleb turned his head and looked at Rosalie, who was in a daze.
âWhy are you just standing there? Come over here and help me!â
âOhâ¦!â
Rosalie put down her bag and ran over immediately.
Theodore reeked of alcohol, and half his shirt buttons were undone. The completely drunk man was
frowning deeply and breathing heavily. With his pale face, he truly resembled an unrestrained
drunkard.
Even so, his disheveled appearance did not diminish his perfect
image in the slightest, but rather, added a touch of decadent wildness.
Rosalie reached out and touched his forehead, which seemed a bit hot. She was unsure if it was
from drinking too much or because he had a fever.
Why did he get drunk? Was it because of Cynthia? That woman had already returned, right? Why
the need to do this?
âWhy didnât you stop him? You actually let him drink so muchâ¦â Rosalie asked with a frown.
âWhat? Youâre blaming me?â Caleb pointed at himself. âAre you serious? Youâre his wife! Your
husband was the one who didnât go home and got wasted outside. Why didnât you stop him?â
âIâ¦â Rosalie trailed off.
After a long while, she finally spoke, âHe was with Cynthia. He was probably happy, so how could I
disturb him?â
âWhat?! Are you crazy?! Are you saying your husband was out with another woman, and you didnât
care? Are you a saintess or
something?!â Caleb roared.
âWeâre getting a divorce.â Rosalie smiled bitterly, suppressing the pain in her heart. âSo, I canât say
anything about whoever heâs with.â
âDâDivorce?â Caleb was stunned. âNo wonder Theodore drank until he
was in this state! Itâs all because of you!â
âBecause of me? Youâre wrong, he-â
Caleb interrupted her, âShut up! How has Theo wronged you? How could you abandon him? Since
marrying you, he hasnât flirted with anyone else or done anything improper. No matter what, he
always thinks of you first.
âEven when heâs drinking with his buddies, he pushes away any
woman who attempts to come near him. He keeps an eye on the time, wanting to go back early to
be with you, afraid youâll be worried at home!
âHe has distanced himself from everyone for you! Canât you see how good he is to you? Even if you
donât, we arenât blind! You want to divorce such a man?! Are you crazy?!â
Caleb took a deep breath and placed his hands on his hips. âGo on, tell me! What kind of devil out
there has managed to seduce you and make you heartless enough to leave your husband? Iâll beat
him up and kill him!â
Rosalie was surprised at Calebâs indignant attitude.
âI remember when I married him, you made a bet with a few of your friends. You said Theo would
flirt around and grow tired of me in less than three months. You lost five million and were forced to
sing folk songs naked. Youâve been holding a grudge against me for that,â she reminded him.
Caleb fell silent. He scratched his head and glanced around
awkwardly before saying, âDonât mention that again. Also, I was wearing underwear!â
âI know. You were wearing a pair of red briefs,â Rosalie added. âI watched the video. You were quite
sassy.â
âVideo?! Where did you see the video? Who took it? Tell me!â
Filled with a surge of explosive anger, a wideâeyed Caleb stepped forward and gripped Rosalieâs
shoulders, causing her to wince as he squeezed her hard.
âLet go of me.â
âTell me quickly! Who the hell recorded the video?â
As the noisy voices buzzed in his ears, Theodore slowly opened his
eyes. Despite his blurry vision, he was able to make out a familiar figure. He immediately launched
himself off the windowsill and rushed forward.
Pulling Rosalie behind him, he grabbed Calebâs collar and threw a punch!
