Chapter 92
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Meanwhile, Theodore was still at the hospital with Cynthia. She c a lot, but he didnât stop her,
instead just sitting in a chair by her b lost in thought. When she noticed that Thedore wasnât comfort
her, Cynthia realized there was no point in continuing to cry and finally stopped.
Hearing that her crying had subsided, Theodore glanced at her. Feeling better?â
Î
Still upset, she said, âTheo, Iâm sorry. I caused you to argue with yo family.â
âI donât think Rose knew that my mom invited you to lunch. She wa there because she had been
invited too. My mom invited both of yo separately, so you might have misunderstood,â Theodore
explaine
Cynthiaâs heart thumped. Was Theodore defending Rosalie? Did h not believe that his mother and
wife would team up to bully her?
ââ¦â
Cynthiaâs hands clenched into fists under the blanket. Since Theodore had explained the other two
womenâs actions, she couldnât directly speak ill of them, or he might end up thinking badly of her
instead.
I
Cynthia bit her lip and said, âTheo, I was surprised when I saw Rosalie there because I thought your
mother had only invited me. After what happened, I thought they might have planned it together.
âHonestly, I donât know what really happened, but I did feel wronged. Even your mother canât deny
how she humiliated me in the restaurant. Why did she want to see me if she doesnât like me?â
âThen, tell me, why did Rose splash water on you? What happened
before she did that?â Theodore asked.
Cynthia suddenly felt uneasy. She knew exactly what happened, but she definitely couldnât tell
Theodore the truth.
âWhy arenât you saying anything? Did you y something to her?â
Theodore frowned, a hint of unease in his eyes. Had he
misunderstood Rosalie?
âWe had an argument. We were talking about you, and things got a bit heated. Women are always a
bit emotional, you know,â Cynthia said pitifully.
It was better to say that she and Rosalie had argued over Theodore, leading to the water incident,
than to tell him the truth.
Theodore fell silent. Cynthiaâs words seemed to make sense. But didnât Rosalie dislike him? Why
would she argue with Cynthia because
of him?
Could it be that Rosalie harbored some resentment towards Cynthia because she and Theodore
were ultimately still husband and wife? Did she not necessarily need to love him to argue over him?
He thought back to the fights he had with Rosalie previously. If he could argue with her, then it
wasnât surprising that Rosalie would argue with Cynthia.
Theodore sighed and gently patted the blanket covering Cynthia. â Okay, I understand.â
The incident at lunch was probably just a farce. He just hadnât expected that his mother would do
such a thing one day. He thought. his mother had already distanced herself from the Spencer
familyâs affairs, and that his parents were still together only on paper.
âTheo, Iâm afraid your relationship with the Spencer family will be damaged because of me. I donât
want to cause a rift between you and
them. Then, Iâd be the guilty one,â said Cynthia.
âSorry, Cindy. I apologize on their behalf.â
Since Rosalie and Sydney refused to apologize to Cynthia, he, as their husband and son, had to do
it.
âTheo, you know that Iâll never blame you. As long as I know your heart is with me, thatâs enough.
Iâm not afraid of any grievances. Even if the whole world hates me, Iâm okay as long as I still have
you.â
Cynthiaâs eyes reddened with tears, making her pitiful appearance. seem especially heartbreaking.
âCindy, I have another question,â Theodore said.
