Chapter 14
You're My Mate (BL)
Leon

Dinner went according to my expectations; not too boring and not too scary. I thought Hendersonâs family was scary, but Davidâs father was also very friendly and welcomed me to his house.
He was not angry when something happened to me in the library room; he even called my family directly to take care of me for a while in this house, exactly what Henderson had planned with this. Because I feel there is something hidden from both of them.
âDo you need to go to the toilet?â
I immediately turned to where David was when I realized it wasnât me in the room. But two men are currently in this room. Yes, thatâs David and me.
âOh no, Iâm fine!â I replied while forcing a smile as beautiful as possible at David.
.....
âOK then, if you need anything, just tell me, OK!â David answered while continuing to read a book on the sofa in this room.
Right now, Iâm on the bed that David usually uses to rest, while David is sitting so relaxed on the sofa in this room. David was busy reading a book he had brought from the library earlier.
Why do people around me always like to read books, like nerds with such intelligent brains? Is David one of them? Does he also have such intelligent thoughts as other nerds? I donât think I need to think about it.
I took the cell phone from my backpack; I deliberately decided to call my father to ensure that Mr. Patrick had already informed me that I hadnât come home the tonight.
I can hear the voice dialing from my cell phone, which is currently dialing my fatherâs number.
âHello Leon, how are you? Are you OK? Your new friend, Davidâs father, called earlier if you were not feeling well. And since Davidâs father is also a doctor, my father allowed you to be treated first at Davidâs house. I wanted to be able to visit you, but Doctor Patrick said that you were resting, so your mom and dad didnât go there. And tomorrow he said David and his dad would take you home; dad will wait for you at home, OK! Have a good rest, dear! â
âWhew... Tut... Tut...â
I was silent, widening my eyes when Dad told me everything; I hadnât had time to ask him anything, but Dad suddenly hung up the phone.
And that annoyed me because before I had time to ask him anything, he suddenly hung up the phone.
I grumbled for a moment and then decided to call my dad back, but by the time I decided to call a second time, it felt like Dadâs cell phone number was off because it was not connected.
âYou evil father!â I grumbled as I threw my phone on the bed.
I noticed how often David glanced at me when I was annoyed with my father. But I think he also looks like he doesnât want to continue to interfere with what Iâm going through because he is so focused on reading the book in his lap.
Itâs a bookworm.
âDavid, Can I borrow a book because Iâm so bored I canât even close my eyes to rest!â I said, looking at where David was because there was nothing I could do now but read a book.
âOf course! Iâll get you some books in a minute!â David said as he left the room.
I think I remember that before I got this severe dizziness, I had read a book with a dark red cover. Maybe I should read the book again to understand better whatâs in the book.
Not long after that, David came into the room again with a few piles of books he had brought with him. Then David came closer to me and put the books he was carrying on the table next to the bed I was sitting on.
âThese are some novels that you can read; maybe it can make you not bored reading this novel!â David said as he walked back towards the sofa.
âAh, OK, thank you!â I answered while looking at some of the books that David had just brought.
When I tried to sort through the books he was carrying; I saw no books with dark red covers I had previously read. âDavid, Isnât there the crimson cover book I was reading in the library this afternoon?â I asked as I flipped through the book David had just brought to me.
âDo you remember it?â
I widened my eyes in surprise when suddenly David was at the bedside, whereas before, I saw him with my own eyes sitting on the sofa and reading a book.
But just when I asked about the book with the dark red cover, David was suddenly beside the bed I was sitting on.
âI donât remember the book I read; I only remember the color of the cover,â I replied while trying to remember what was actually in the book.
Without answering what I just said, David suddenly walked away from the bed and headed back to the sofa.
This boy is rude; I havenât finished speaking yet, but he has left me without an answer.
âWhere will you sleep?â I asked David to change the subject.
Hearing what I asked, David suddenly looked at me as if thinking of an appropriate answer.
âI slept on the couch!â David answered, nodding his head, then looked back at the book he was carrying.
âCould you sleep with me here, because I donât think I can sleep if no one strokes my head,â I said to David, asking him so he could sleep with me because when I wasnât feeling well, my mother always stroked my head so I could sleep well.
And this time, I had no choice but to ask him to do that to me because I wanted to rest.
David looked surprised when I offered it.
âIs it OK?â he asked as he stood up to look at me.
âItâs OK; get into bed and sleep with me!â I answered while gently patting the mattress that was on my right.
