Their Lycan Queen by Foxtail Chapter 38
Their Lycan Queen
Chapter 38
Noras POV
Darkness, just darkness, no light whatsoever, how boring. Just plain boring, nothing to do except sitting here in the darkness like a .. shadow. No even shadows get to see much more than I do right now.
Sure I did welcome the darkness but this is utterly ridiculous and so so so boring!
âArtemis, where are you? Please, respond if you can hear meâ I try to yell but I canât even hear my echo.
A soft giggle is penetrating the darkness and I sigh in boredom.
âItâs not funny Artemis, stop that otherwise I will do something that you wonât be laughing atâ I try to threaten my lycan, I must be a stu pid human to my counterpart. That must be why she left me.
âShe didnât leave you because of thatâ
Yeah and how do you know that? Wait, are you my subconscious?
âNo, my name is Dianeâ
Like the moon goddess?
âYes, that is one of the many names I have been calledâ
I try to turn around to see the person whose voice I hear.
âYou canât see me in the darknessâ
Donât hide in it then.
âHihi, open your eyes instead and it wonât be dark hereâ
What, are you dumb, why would I have my eyes closed? But still I try to open my eyes, huh I did have them closed. Strange.
As I open them I am blinded by light so I blink my eyes rapidly. When I can see more clearly we are once again in a forest. Why is it always a forest?
âItâs not just any forest, this is my landâ
I turn around to see our famous moon goddess but I almost laugh out loud, no wait I actually do. To think that the mystery moon goddess that we all love and worship is like a five year old kid.
âI am not five years old but yes I did not age anymore than this. I think itâs easier to play around in this form so I often. stay in itâ Diane says.
Can you read my mind?
âYesâ
Oh da mn! Am I dead?
âIn a way, yes.â Artemis, my daughter died of heartbreak and you with her. So right now you have fulfilled one part of the prophecy, you are in my land right nowâ

I am dead along with Artemis. Well, I thought it would be less painful and more bliss.
âYou are not really dead, this is more like a limbo but just because you are the human that Artemis choseâ
You just said I was dead and now I am not, please make up your mind.
âItâs hard to explain, Nora, perhaps Artemis can explain, she is over there with her daughterâ
I look up and around and notice my midnight black lycan playing with a smaller wolf, black as night with white paws. Both of them are beautiful.
âYes they are, walk over there, take this path and donât stray from the path, Noraâ
Donât stray from the path? The paths are straight, how could I stray from a straight path? But as I turned around I noticed Diane is no longer here.
Whatever. I step on to the path and at once I am flooded with memories, both good and bad. My parents, my friends, my old pack, Daniel, Ben, Linus, Helios and Ares. I miss them, all of them. I continue to walk, trying so hard as not to follow them and stray from the path.
I try to concentrate on Artemis and her daughter, I want to talk to Artemis, I want to meet her daughter. But just as I am about to run over there I hear laughter, a childâs laughter and I stop and look away from the path ahead of me.
Helios is holding a little boy in his arms and they are both waving me over, to come to them. I hesitate, that little boy

looks like both me and Helios, I want that, I want a future with Helios. But where is Ares? I try to look for him but I canât find him.
I take a deep breath and continue walking away from the little boy in Heliosâ arms, I want a future with both my mates. Even if he hurt me by marking Mia, I want Ares, he is my mate.
I scream as I feel a strong grip on my shoulders and I look up to see Artemis. I hug her with all my might.
âFinally, I can hug you now, Noraâ
âAnd I can hug you, Artemis. Wait, am I still on that path?â
âNo, while you were thinking of our mates, you was walking straight ahead so I just caught you before you fell downâ
âThank you, I guess. It feels a bit weird, talking with you like thisâ
âI understand, it feels strange for me toâ
I follow Artemis to her daughter and I take a seat on the grass as her daughter comes up to me.
âHello, Nora.â My name is Aurelie and I am Artemisâ daughterâ Aurelie says and bows her head at me.
âHello Aurelie, you are very beautiful, but arenât you quite big to be a werewolf?â I say and look at her.
âYes, but as you can see my mother is quite big too. As I am. the first female werewolf and Artemisâ daughter, I got a midnight black fur as well and I am bigger in size tooâ she tries to explain even though I donât get it

âThat sounds more like an excuse, daughterâ Artemis tilts her head and I smack her on her arm.
âThen what am I going to say then? I am big because I am beautiful then? I sound like a snobâ Aurelie says and I giggle.
âYou can say that you are bigger than others because you are the first female werewolf and your mother is a legend among lycansâ I ponder over the words and notice that both Artemis and Aurelie stare at me.
âWhat?â I ask
Then I was attacked in a contest of hugging me first, both Artemis and Aurelie were happy with my words.

It feels like I have been in this land for years at the end but I know in my head that I should have been here for just a few minutes, half an hour at most.
âDiane?â What will I do now?â I ask out loud and both Artemis and Aurelie stop with what they are doing and listen to me.
âWell, itâs your choice now, Nora. You can choose to stay here with us or go back to your b*dy but without Artemis.â Diane
answer me
âI wonât be a lycan anymore?â I say confused.
âYou never were, Artemis was the lycan, but yes you will be an ordinary humanâ Diane says and I feel down.
If I am an ordinary human I canât have a bond to Helios and Ares, I wonât survive them. I sigh and start to cry.
âWait, Noraâs parents are from the blaze kingdom and the knight kingdom, correct?â Aurelie asks and Artemis nods.
âNora should have a lycan then, she has inherited the qualities of both of the kingdoms. So you canât just send her back without a counterpart or she will just die again.â
âHmm
you are right as always Aurelie, I canât send her back without a counterpart but then I need someone to volunteerâ Diane says and starts to wander around.

I tilted my head and followed her with my eyes and then I noticed them, hundreds and hundreds of lycans and
werewolves. I stand up in awe and look around, all sizes and colors except black.
âUmm Diane, why is only Artemis and Aurelie black in their fur?â I ask and she stops and looks back at me.
âIsnât it obvious? They are the firsts of their race so of course they are midnight black and the only ones as wellâ Diane smiles and continues walking around.
A perfectly white werewolf approached me and it took me a second to recognize it, I crouched down and hugged her hard while sobbing.
âI have missed you my friendâ I say to Emilyâs wolf.
âI have missed you as well, Nora.â she says and licks my cheek. gently.
âMiss Diane, I volunteer to be Noraâs wolf, even if I am not strong enoughâ
âOh my sweet wolf, you would be the perfect companion for Nora, but as I have said before, your counterpart is not yet dead and you are not released just yetâ Diane answers and hugs her.
Emilyâs wolf hangs her head down in sorrow but I hug her and whisper thanks to her as she was my friend even though Emily turned her back on me.
âDiane, I want to be Noraâs counterpartâ Aurelieâs voice
sounds clear in the forest.

âAre you sure, Aurelie? You have not rested enough since the curseâ Diane answers but Aurelie growls at her.
âI think Nora and my daughter will be a perfect match for one another, that way both my daughter in wolf form and my daughter in human form can be togetherâ Artemis says and nods.
âAm I your daughter?â I ask Artemis confused.
âNot by blood but I have always thought of you as my daughter, you reminded me of Aurelie with your strength and kindnessâ Artemis explains and I blush a bit.
Aurelie walks over to me and looks me in the eyes. âDo you accept me, Nora?â She asks me and I take a deep breath âYes, I accept you, Aurelieâ
She holds her paw up and I put my hand on her paw and in that second the forest becomes lighter and lighter and everyone fades away. And once again I am in the darkness.
But come on!
*Itâs okay Nora, I am here with you. You and I are in a coma right now, but we are alive. Since you were born with my mother who is a lycan, your b*dy need to comply with a werewolf instead so you need to rest and we need to get to know one another* Aurelie explains and I get it. Not many will die and then come back with another wolf and just wake up and be fine, itâs not really magic.
I wonder what is happening on the outside and I wonder when I will wake up.

I layed in the forest the whole night and the day after and so on. I was woken up by Helios and Uncle Dave when they lifted up my b*dy from the ground, they told me that I had been laying there for the past three days but I didnât care.
I wished that they had left me there, my lycan refused to come forward and I canât shift or heal properly either so righ now I have a human sickness, a deadly one at that. My father is furious and Miaâs grandmother has been here two times already.
The first time to hit me and the second time to give me tea. I learned that Mia had played me and Nora. The mark would have gone away when she took back her rejection but instead Mia harmed Nora even further.
Artemis died of heartbreak and here I am now, my lycan has abandoned me and now I am feigning for myself. Helios had come over once a day and talked normally with me but I just wished for him to kill me and every time he punched me when I said my wish out loud.
I killed our mate and he isnât even sad or angry over that. Today he comes in with our father and uncle Dave and a wheelchair. No way in hell will I be pushed around in that thing like I am sick or an old man.
But I donât have much choice since I am weak right now and the fever is taking control over my b*dy so I am seeing illusions right now. But they push me out of my room and down to Noraâs old room. Why would they torment me like
this?
But as they open the door and push me inside I see that Nora is h o oked up to hospital machines and that the heart monitor

âNora is alive, Ares, you didnât kill herâ
