Chapter 1045: Today wouldn’t be just any ordinary day for everyone.
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
"So, I hope you also understand mine in the future."
Atlasâs vague remarks could be taken in different contexts. However, even before fully understanding what he meant by that, William felt that what Atlas had just said carried deeper meaning than it appeared.
"Huh?" Williamâs already furrowed brows deepened, but Atlas was no longer interested in him.
Atlas shifted his eyes back to Zoren. "You didnât have to come down here."
"My nephew called me, so I was a little worried," Zoren said, sliding his foot as he watched Atlas walk toward him. He began walking beside his first brother-in-law, but before he took a step, he glanced over his shoulder. "Iâm letting this slide just because First Brother asked me to. William Pierson, be careful next time."
With that, Zoren resumed walking beside Atlas. Allen was unsure whether this was okay, but he ended up jogging to follow them. Atlas didnât verbally ask Zoren anything, but the latter already understood the drill when Atlas spoke and thanked William for something he shouldnât.
Benjamin, on the other hand, sneered and fearlessly glared at William. Instead of following his boss, he walked over to William and huffed.
"Director William, you shouldâve asked my boss to scold you and deal with you, because now, Sir Atlas is going to do it!" he scowled quietly and haughtily, walking closer to tease. "Miss Pennyâs message to you to keep taking your maintenance is still valid. If I were you, Iâd take it diligently!"
Benjamin huffed and straightened his back, feeling much better now. He flashed William a wide smile before turning his back on him.
The corner of Williamâs mouth twitched, glaring at Benjaminâs back. "That brat... is always so annoying. One of these days, heâll regret talking to me like this."
As for Dean, who remained off to the side, he furrowed his brows. âAtlas... is going to deal with this guy?â His brows snapped as his thoughts halted, offering William a bright grin.
"Uncle, I donât think you should take whatever Assistant Vitt said seriously. You know him. He always barks and is a little overprotective when it comes to the CEO," he remarked kindly, tilting his head to the side. "I also hope you also understand that itâs not my intention to put you in a tight spot. I simply called my uncle because I wanted to show him something interesting. I heard heâs been getting bored lately, so I thought the situation might pump some blood into him."
His smile then faded a little as his eyes looked sharper. "Iâll head to my office now. Todayâs divination told me that I shouldnât get angry with the wrong person, so I wonât add fuel to the fire. See you at the meeting, Director William Pierson."
Having said that, Dean coolly strode off.
William hissed, grinding his teeth as he glared at Deanâs back. "Surely, these kids just keep getting worse day by day," he grumbled, thinking of the haughty Benjamin and the arrogant Dean. "Did he think I was born yesterday, not to know that his agenda is to make me the bad guy here?"
"Director William, just let them be," one of his lackeys spoke quietly to his side. "Iâm guessing they were acting up because thatâs the least they could do today."
"Thatâs right, Director!" another one cheered. "Donât be discouraged. Weâre on your side!"
"Besides, today is an important day for all of us," the other one spoke, being more careful with his words. "Today, everyone will learn about Jonathan Pierson. Just having him there, Iâm sure the remaining supporters of Dean Pierson will waver. After all, heâs been playing quite a bit and had been into divination. Heâs losing his mind slowly."
William listened to his lackeys and felt calmer at their comments. He nodded in understanding.
"Youâre right." He smirked, shifting his malicious gaze in the direction where everyone had left. "Those kids are just acting up because they couldnât do anything anymore. Besides, even if Atlas was hired for this, what else could he do? Itâs not like heâd get a spot on the board or the shareholdersâ table."
"Thatâs right, Director William," his lackeys nodded in unison. "Atlas Bennet might have gained a reputation, but heâs a madman when it comes to running the company. Iâve heard things here and there, but even with those traits, he wonât be able to do much in here."
"How could he do that? Itâs not like Zoren Pierson could put him on the spot, even if he wanted to. The best he can do is give an extra spot in the CEOâs office. So long as he doesnât meddle with us, weâre still safe."
"If the CEO does that, wouldnât he be questioned? That would put him in a vulnerable spot!"
The more they thought about it, the more relaxed and complacent they felt. After all, what they were saying wasnât just empty comments. It was true. Even if Zoren seemed to have total control of the company, there were still lines he couldnât cross. Otherwise, the already questionable harmony of the internal affairs would be put in a dire situation again.
"Heh." William snickered, nodding in satisfaction. "Those kids. Things will change in no time. Letâs go and not waste any more time in here. Jonathan is already in my office."
Having said that, William raised his chin proudly and walked away. The men with him smiled in satisfaction, their mood lifted at the mention of Jonathan. After all, having Jonathan on their side would be pivotal.
Although Jonathan had no strong footing in the company yet, it would only take a matter of time. Jonathan was not only smart and charming, but his birthright had given him plenty of advantages. Therefore, they all felt confident, not caring about the employees who were still there, looking at them with mixed expressions.
In a few hours, a lot of changes would happen in the upper management with Old Mrs. Piersonâs official retirement announcement and Jonathanâs introduction. Many looked forward to it for different reasons, but either way, it was a fact that no one could deny.
Today wouldnât be just an ordinary day for everyone. Not just in the Pierson Corporation, but also in the business industry because two news stories no one had seen coming would make it to the headlines after this day.
