Chapter 1124: Pinwheel
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
"Hello, guys!! Iâm here~!" Benjamin waved, watching the yacht move in his direction. "Hello~!"
His mouth stretched from ear to ear, looking a bit excited. Well, Benjamin had been idling at home and was dying to get out. Since the "island" group would be coming to the town, he volunteered to pick them up and meet the rest.
When the yacht arrived, Benjamin jumped from his spot to where the yacht docked. He was like a kid, watching everyone wait for the yacht to settle before walking out.
"Heh." He grinned, placing his hands on his hips. "I thought Iâd wait an entire day before you guys showed up!"
The first people who came out were Atlas and Allen. As usual, Atlas simply cast him a cold glance, while Allen greeted him politely.
"I think they did some sort of troubleshooting thatâs why it took this long," Allen said kindly, standing beside Benjamin to give way for those behind him.
"Oh?" Benjamin nodded, and when he saw the next person walking down the ramp to the pier, his brows rose. "Oh! Second Brother, are you fine now?"
"Yes!" Hugoâs eyes were sparkling. "I have to be. Otherwise, I wonât be able to enjoy this trip if I just stay sick."
"Ha... ha..." Benjamin and Allen laughed, watching Hugo move on as if he were looking for a fight. "I guess thereâs no need to worry about it."
"Heâs been like that since yesterday," Allen leaned to Benjaminâs side to whisper. "In fact, he was planning to go to the town last night after recovering from his flu. However, we were already too tired. I guess thatâs where the pent-up excitement and eagerness are coming from."
Benjamin and Allen nodded at the same time, eyes still on Hugo.
After Hugo swam to the island, he had apparently caught the flu. Considering what he did and the temperature of the water at night, they were surprised that was all he got. In other words, Hugo had been left behind in the past few days because of his condition. So now, his overflowing energy was a result of his recovery.
"Achoo!"
Benjamin and Allen flinched when they heard Hugo sneeze. Now, they couldnât help but wonder if Hugo had truly recovered, or if his will to enjoy this vacation was giving him a false surge of energy. Their thoughts were interrupted when Slater quietly walked past them.
"Oh, Third Bro..." Benjamin trailed off, brows knitted. "Huh? Whatâs wrong with him?"
"Heâs been like that throughout our trip here," James, who was just behind Slater, stopped in front of Benjamin and Allen. "Just donât mind him."
Benjamin clicked his tongue. "Does he act like that because he went on a date with my cousin? Tch. I havenât asked him what happened on that date."
"Why donât you ask your cousin?" asked Allen, out of pure curiosity.
"You think I havenât?" Benjamin sighed. "But all she said was that it was a date she canât even remember. All she knows is that it was so-so and she really doesnât care about it."
He then cast James a suspicious look. "Manager James, you were there, werenât you? Why donât you tell me what happened?"
"Ha! Ha! I really donât know!" James laughed nervously. "Slater had so many dates that day, I canât even remember what happened!"
âWhat heâs saying is that the date was terrible,â Allen thought to himself, remembering how Atlas had managed those dates. He had also gotten a glimpse of how Slater was with his dates. âIâm sure James is just trying to preserve the new friendship thatâs formed during this trip.â
"Come on, James," Benjamin insisted, leaning against James. But James just shook his head, signaling that he really didnât know.
"Ben, youâre starting to make Manager James uncomfortable now." Suddenly, Zorenâs voice was heard from behind them. "Stop pressuring him. If Mint said it was so-so, then thatâs probably it."
Benjamin frowned, and James walked to the side, facing Penny and Zoren. Mark stood behind the couple.
"Iâm just curious, thatâs all," Benjamin murmured. "I mean, what are the odds of Mint and Third Brother going on a date, right? If they end up together, that means Iâll be Miss Pennyâs brother-in-law!"
"Werenât you cousins?" James and Allen blurted out, while Zorenâs face darkened slightly.
Penny, on the other hand, had something else in mind. "Uhm, Benjamin, whereâs your cousin?" she asked. "Weâve been here for days now, and although Iâve heard plenty about her, I still havenât seen her."
Penny ended her remarks with a kind smile, making James a little suspicious.
"Oh! Actually, I told her to wait for me, and Iâll pick her up later!" Benjamin grinned. "Sheâs a little short-tempered, so I was sure sheâd just drag me away from the pier if she got bored."
"Oh." Penny nodded while her mouth formed an "O" shape.
Zoren gazed at Benjamin and sighed. "I think youâve underestimated your cousinâs brother complex."
Just as those words left Zorenâs mouth, a loud motor engine revved. As the tires screeched, everyone turned to the motorcycle that had stopped a few meters from them. Atlas, Hugo, and Slater, who were just idling several steps away from the others, also lifted their eyes to the motorcycle.
"Not bad," Hugo nodded, eyes fixed on the motorcycle, not the rider.
Atlas, on the other hand, tilted his head slightly. However, his focus was not on the female rider but on her helmet. The helmet had a pinwheel on top, which bothered him. As for Slater, his mouth curved down, evidently displeased to see Mint.
âWe already agreed that sheâd stay away,â Slater pinched the bridge of his nose. âBut she just shows up where all my siblings are.â
Not that Mint scared him, but Slater was aware that his siblings were quick to catch on. If Mint slipped up, Atlas, who had once been suspicious of Slater about saving his life, would be suspicious of him again. Penny and Hugo would be the same â these two had too many questions for anyone to ignore.
As Mint took off her helmet, she shook her head to let her short hair fall. She then snapped her eyes at the two separate groups, who werenât far from each other.
"Hello!" she greeted, her eyes squinting from ear to ear. "Mintâs here!"
