Chapter 1203: He enjoys it!
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
"Penny, were you reborn?"
Hugo scrunched his nose, gasping as he gazed at Atlasâs side profile. âThis is the interesting thing he wanted to show me? Announcing that he is losing his mind to our little siblings?!â
Meanwhile, Penny, Slater, and even Zoren had their mouths wide open. Their eyes were fixed on Atlas, whose face carried nothing but the same flat, emotionless look as if he had facial paralysis.
How was Penny going to answer that?
âYes, First Brother. I was reborn and remembered all the shitty things youâve done to me. For instance, the first Chapter of this story.â â as if it were that easy!
"Uh..." Penny opened and closed her mouth, but her voice wouldnât come out. "What?"
Atlas fluttered his eyelashes ever so tenderly. "I heard you â the two of you last night," he explained flatly. "Itâs not like I was trying to eavesdrop, but with all that yelling and crying, I didnât have a choice."
"!!!" Hearing his explanation for why he asked such a question, Penny and Slaterâs eyes went wide.
Looking back, they were really not discreet about it. Heck, they hadnât even considered if anyone else was around, overwhelmed by emotions. So now, with Atlas explaining his question, they panicked.
"So?" Atlas tilted his head to the side, eyes on Penny and then Slater. "Were the two of you reborn?"
Again, Penny and Slaterâs mouths fell in horror. Every second felt heavy and still, then another second, Penny and Slater pointed at each other while throwing each other under the bus:
Slater: "Penny is actually having sex with her husband!"
"He works in Homeland Security â a secret agent!" Penny said at the same time, nearly choking as Slaterâs remarks registered in her mind. "Third Brother, why would you â isnât that kinda low?!"
"I should be the one telling you that!" Slater yelled in disbelief. "Why would you say something like that?! Donât you know about confidential files?!"
"Wait, what?" Hugo frowned, eyes falling on Zoren. He then took a large step, lowering his head from behind Zorenâs seat. "Hey, what does that mean? What were you doing with my sister?"
"Second Brother, donât harass my husband!" Penny yelled protectively. "Donât you dare lay a hand on him or youâll need your parachute!"
"But I just learned that heâs involved with my sister!"
"Heâs my husband!"
"Doesnât change anything."
"But â but..." Penny pressed her mouth shut, face turning red. This was truly a strange way to discuss her private life with her brother. Closing her eyes, she yelled, "Heâs actually the victim here!"
"..." For a moment, silence fell, eyes on Penny. Even Zoren looked at his wife blankly.
Zoren didnât mind Hugoâs reaction. It was expected. However, Zoren also thought it was time her brothers realized they werenât just housemates. They didnât just exchange smiles and prayers every night before falling asleep. They were doing miracles as well.
But for his wife to go to such lengths to defend him... he felt bad.
Little did he know, Penny wasnât trying to defend him. She was simply telling the truth. After all, out of seven days in a week, she initiated five and he broke her legs only on weekends. And even then, it was because Penny was putting on a show.
"Pervert," Slater blurted out, while Atlas couldnât hide his dismay. Meanwhile, Hugo grabbed Zorenâs shoulder and shook his head.
"Iâm sorry, man. I didnât know you were going through such a tough time."
âItâs not tough at all. Itâs actually my favorite time of the day,â Zoren wanted to clarify, but he just smiled. "Thanks."
Feeling sorry for Zoren, Hugo narrowed his eyes at Penny. "Should I get her arrested?"
"Huh â what?!" Penny scoffed. "Second Brother, are you serious? Weâre husband and wife! He enjoys it!"
Zoren, staying in character for his wife, shook his head. He slowly covered his chest, putting on a show as he covered his mouth.
"Heâs shaking his head!" Using that, Hugo retorted, "Penny, how could you be so crude?!"
"Renren, why are you shaking your head and covering your chest?!" Penny gasped at her husband again. "Weâre partners!"
"Oh."
"This is the time you prove youâre the pervert, not me."
"Okay." Zoren nodded and looked up at Hugo. He opened his mouth, about to say something that could get him wearing a parachute, but he changed his mind. "Sheâs telling the truth."
"A confession under duress is never admissible in court," Hugo replied before giving his sister a disappointed look. "Penny, thereâs a limit to everything."
"Look, Second Brother, I donât think you should be angry right now." This time, Slater spoke, as things were getting out of hand. "Can we not talk about what she does privately? I donât want to hear it, I donât want to know. Besides, if he has any qualms about it, heâs rich! He could divorce her, give her half of his everything, and still be a billionaire."
Hugo thought about it for a moment before nodding. "Youâre right, Slater."
"Iâm not divorcing her." Zoren smiled reassuringly at Hugo. "I love her, regardless."
Penny was rendered speechless. âWhy does he make it sound like heâs sacrificing himself for love?â
"Man." Hugo tapped Zorenâs shoulder, sighing with sympathy. "If you need anything, just let me know. Iâd drop everything for you."
"You just donât want Penny in jail," Atlas, who had remained quiet, spoke coldly. "Hugo, stop this nonsense now. Also, Penny, do you think I donât see what youâre trying to do?"
"Iâm not doing anything except clearing my name of slander," she pouted, looking away to hide the truth from her eldest brother. One of the reasons she went along with Hugoâs ridiculousness was to change the subject, which obviously didnât work.
A shallow breath escaped Atlas, prompting Slater to sit across from Penny. Crossing his arms, his eyes glinted.
"So?" he spoke, his tone firm this time. "Were you reborn? Is that why you have that other side to you when youâre drunk?"
Penny pursed her lips and glanced at Slater, who shared the same puzzlement. Slater didnât know how to answer either. Looking at Zoren, he simply cast a brief glance at Penny before returning his gaze to Atlas. Hugo furrowed his brows, waiting for her denial.
When Penny looked back at Atlas, a quiet voice â barely above a whisper â slipped past her lips. "Yes."
