Chapter 1215: That’s Hugo for you!
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
Zoren and Hugo might have proven they could fend for themselves, but that wasnât enough to lessen Pennyâs and Atlasâs worry. For a moment, these people were definitely a step ahead of them. If not for Penny going crazy and hijacking the plane, they wouldnât know that they were headed in a different direction.
But their worries, however, didnât last long.
Rushing back to the section where Hugo and Zoren were asleep, Penny and Atlas walked into a cabin with a few bodies lying unconscious in the aisle.
"Oh." Penny blinked, snapping her eyes to Hugo, who was seated, massaging his nape, and Zoren standing at the other end. Seeing that the two of them were fine, she grinned and turned to Atlas. "See? I told you we didnât need to hurry! Theyâre fine!"
"When did you say that?" Atlas returned flatly, thinking about how she almost left him because she had grown impatient earlier. However, he didnât dwell on it and set his eyes on the two. His gaze lingered on the unconscious cabin crew, then back at Hugo and Zoren. "What happened here?"
Before they could answer, Atlas pointed a finger at Penny. "No time for your vicious comments today."
Penny zipped her mouth. Atlas was truly amazing at times, she thought. How did he know she was about to comment on that?
"I donât know," Hugo shook his head, still massaging his nape before straightening his back. "To be honest."
"You just started throwing fists without knowing?" Atlas returned, only to hear the cheerful Penny at his side.
"Thatâs Hugo for you! He starts throwing fists even if he doesnât know the reason! They wouldnât call him crazy for nothing!"
"You were drunk," Zoren muttered as he walked over some people to approach them. "I donât know what happened here either. All I know is that they woke me up, and... pissed me off."
"Of course! Anyone would be pissed if they disturbed their nap!" Penny jumped ahead and stopped in front of Zoren. Her eyes quickly scanned him, bobbing her head up and down as she examined him. When she was certain that he was fine, her lips stretched from ear to ear.
"Good job, husband." She tapped his shoulder as if to emphasize a job well done. "Anyway, who here pissed you off? Iâll kick him to wake him up and another one to knock him unconscious."
"Tempting, but are you okay?" Zoren narrowed his eyes, touching her cheek with the back of his hand. When he saw that the mark on her cheek was just dirt, he held her gaze again. "Your injury, how was it?"
"Itâs fine." Penny nodded at him reassuringly. "Just donât press it, but itâs fine. Told you itâs not that deep."
"Anyway, what the hell is going on here?" Hugo rose to his feet, shaking his head as if that would keep him awake. "Damn. I knew something was wrong with my beer."
"If you noticed, why didnât you say anything? And why did you keep drinking it?"
"Because it was cold," Hugo shrugged indifferently. "Thereâs just something about cold beer. I didnât say it tasted bad, but rather, weird."
"I agree." Penny nodded, making Atlas sigh at their responses.
"At least no oneâs hurt... I think," Atlas sighed in relief, darting his eyes on them with a sharp look. "Anyway, from what Penny got from her interrogation in the cockpit, it seems this plane has been hijacked."
"Hijacked?" Hugo arched a brow while Zoren frowned.
"This is a private plane, and the crew has been flying with the Piersons for years," Zoren said. "They wouldnât hijack this plane."
"The thing is, these guys arenât the real crew that flies the Piersons." Penny smacked her lips, fluttering her eyes unseriously at her husband. "The guys you just beat up are people who took the original crew hostage somewhere on this craft, and the people who were abducting us, basically."
"Uh, god..." Hugo pinched the bridge of his nose in distress. "Two nights ago, we were in this syndicate hive. And now, weâre here. What a trip!"
At this point, Hugo couldnât help but wonder if trips were supposed to be so tiring.
"So?" Hugo snapped his eyes up at them. "Thereâs no pilot here now? You said we were doing a detour earlier."
"Yep." Penny nodded. "Donât worry. You donât have to pilot this. The original captainâs got it under control."
"Are you sure heâs the captain?"
"His ID says so." She nodded again. "Anyway, I think we need to find the cabin crew, strip these guys, tie them outside, and bring them along that way."
"Weâre not tying them outside this craft," Atlas shot her a look. "But we need to find the crew first, after tying these guys."
"Why are you in the cockpit?" Since the next plan was obvious, Zoren couldnât help but ask. When he did, Hugo raised his brows and darted his eyes between Penny and Atlas.
"..." For a moment, Atlas and Penny didnât answer. She just smiled at Zoren and lied, "Iâm teaching Atlas how to fly a craft."
But knowing she was drunk and the drunk Penny had no qualms about resorting to deception, Zoren arched a brow.
"Fine, fine! Iâm not teaching Atlas how to fly a plane, but Iâm teaching him a lesson, okay? Iâm not lying." She threw her hands up. "By the way, I also didnât try to crash this plane with you in it. I mean, how could I do that when my baby boo-boo is here?"
Penny fluttered her eyelashes coquettishly, making sure not to make Zoren sad. It wasnât like she was lying. She hadnât planned to crash the plane. She was simply messing with Atlas because she couldnât kill him either.
"Iâm staying out of prison, darling," she whispered when all she got from Zoren was a quiet stare, leaning toward him with her hand placed on the corner of her mouth. "Iâm staying out of prison and staying out of becoming a divorcee. Youâve got to believe me, husband. Your legal wife cannot live without you."
Atlas and Hugo shook their heads, reading her like an open book.
"Iâll check Slater and Benjamin first," said Hugo.
Atlas nodded. "Iâll find the cabin crew."
"What about us?" Penny hummed.
Hugo and Atlas looked at each other before their eyes fell on their sister again. "You tie these guys up," said Hugo with a smile. "That might tire you out a bit, so you can sleep for a bit."
