Chapter 1246: That would be so romantic!
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
[PRESENT TIME]
Nina huffed and smiled, telling herself not to dwell on her meeting with Cassandra. It was nothing, and it definitely wasnât worth thinking about when Penny and Lily had gone out of their way to help her.
"Uh..." Nina cleared her throat, darting her eyes between the two before looking around the boutique they were in. "By the way, Penny, Lily, what are we doing here? I do remember asking for your help to choose a dress for the family dinner, but this is... a wedding dress shop."
Upon hearing that, Penny and Lily beamed.
"Nina, we know itâs not your wedding yet, but isnât it better to start looking for wedding dresses?" Lily intoned excitedly. "I recently got acquainted with the owner of this shop, and he told me heâs going to make a wedding dress for me when I get married!"
"But since Lily has already accepted that sheâs destined to be the rich aunt who only shows up on holidays with champagne in her hand and tons of money for our kidsâshe asked her friend if we could check out some of their dresses for you!" Penny added while Lily nodded in agreement.
Ninaâs mouth fell open as she stared at the enthusiastic Penny and Lily. "That was a lot of revelations in just ten seconds," she mumbled. "But wait, Lily, what do you mean youâve already accepted this fate?"
"Iâm not getting married." Lily beamed. "And before you think itâs because I got cheated on and betrayed by my ex-trash fiancéâyouâre absolutely right. He traumatized me. Now, I feel like all men would cheat on me, and Iâd never live in peace with one by my side."
"..." Nina opened and closed her mouth, completely speechless. Lily had said all that with such enthusiasm that Nina wasnât sure whether she was joking or being serious. She turned to Penny, but the latter didnât seem bothered at all.
"Donât worry about her," Penny reassured, snapping her eyes toward the assistants standing nearby. Then she puckered her lips in a direction. "Lily doesnât need a ship to sailâshe is the ship. Now, go with them, and let us experience this bridesmaidâs journey."
Nina furrowed her brows and followed Pennyâs gaze. Three assistants were standing not far away, smiling at her brightly. When she looked back at Lily and Penny, the two had already stood up and grabbed her by both arms.
"Just do it," Lily said, dragging Nina toward the assistants. "Stop resisting. I heard weddings take a lot of preparation, so itâs better to start early."
"Thatâs right. Just go, okay?" Penny, holding Ninaâs other arm, nodded. "They already prepared a few dresses for you to try on, so go."
After a moment, the two stopped and let Nina go, nodding at her encouragingly. Lily motioned to the assistants. Seeing Ninaâs reluctance, Lily snapped her eyes toward them.
"Take her away," she ordered, and the three assistants nodded.
"Haha... you two..." Nina bit her lip, but with the assistants on either side of her, she let out a deep exhale. "Iâll just try them on."
With that, Nina followed the assistants to the fitting room. Meanwhile, Penny raised a hand, which Lily slapped for a high five. Their mouths stretched into wide smiles as they watched Nina disappear into the dressing area.
"Knowing her, Iâm sure sheâll go for a very simple dress and wedding," Penny mumbled. "And Finn will surely listen to her just because he thinks thatâs what she actually wants."
"Men... so simple." Lily shook her head before turning to Penny. "By the way, Penny, what did you wear to your wedding?"
"..." Pennyâs mouth clamped shut as she tried to recall how she got married. To be fair, she didnât remember at all. She only knew because Zoren had told her.
Smiling, Penny flashed Lily a grin. "Lily, I had a whirlwind marriage just so I could have sex with my husband. After all, he believes we could only do that after taking our vows. But once I have a grand wedding, Iâm making you my maid of honorâso stop asking questions."
"Sweet!" Lily clasped her hands together. "Also, I love the aggressiveness. Thatâs my girl!"
Little did Lily know, Penny had just heaved a sigh of relief. Knowing Lily, if she hadnât shut her up quickly, she wouldâve been subjected to an intense interrogation. Hence, she used her two ultimate conversation stoppers: sex and a maid of honor promise.
With that, the two walked toward the couch in front of the closed platform where Nina would appear once she finished changing. As they sat down, they casually chatted while waiting.
"Oh, itâs opening! That was quick," Penny remarked, straightening her back in anticipation. She had seen the lineup earlier and knew Nina would look amazing in all of them, so she was excited.
Lily also beamed, watching as the curved sliding door slowly opened. But when it did, Penny and Lilyâs smiles stiffened.
There, standing inside, was a woman in a wedding dress as well. However, it wasnât Ninaâbut a very familiar face.
"MiâMint?" Penny stuttered as she watched Mint slowly walk down the platform.
Mint carried a solemn look before her lips curved up. "Penny, what do you think?"
"Youâre getting married?" Penny gasped, and Mint nodded.
"We are," Mint replied with a grin, casting Lily a knowing look. "Lily mentioned you guys were meeting today, so I thought Iâd come."
"You said that?" Lily asked, blinking in confusion. She couldnât remember Mint saying anything about joining them.
"I did," Mint confirmed. "But I realized I only replied in my head. By the time I remembered, I was already here, so it felt awkward to text back."
Mint then turned her attention back to Penny. "Penny, my bride, do you like me wearing this on our wedding day?"
Penny: "..."
"Mint, you know itâs bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her wedding dress before the wedding," Lily pointed out. "Also, Penny is not the groom in this relationship. You should be."
"Oh." Mint rocked her head before smiling. "Then, itâs not bad luck. Actually, Iâm thinking we should wear matching dresses at our wedding. Same dress. That would be so romantic!"

[PIERSON CORPORATION]
Zoren was walking down the hallway back to his office after a long meeting when he suddenly stopped. His abrupt halt made Benjamin pause, and Atlas, who was walking with them, stopped as well. Both men turned to Zoren, their brows furrowed.
"Sir?" Benjamin called. "Is everything alright?"
Zoren didnât answer immediately, his brows deeply furrowed. "I just feel angry for some reason."
"Did you pray this morning when you woke up?" Atlas replied flatly. "You should start considering that to keep your inner demons at bay."
"Sir Atlas, is that why your inner demons always take over you because you donât?" Benjamin blurted out, pursing his mouth when Atlas cast him a side-eye.
Meanwhile, Zoren stretched his neck and resumed his steps. As he did so, he took his phone out to call his wife and check on her. For some reason, he felt really bothered as if a fly was trying to land on his beautiful flower named Penelope.
