Chapter 1270: Kiss him if necessary!
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
[Bennet Mansion]
"Sir Haines?" Butler Jen stopped in the entryway when he saw Haines walking out of his room. "Itâs a little late. Do you need anything?"
Haines looked up at him and sighed. "Is Charles still awake?"
"At this hour? I doubt it, sir."
"Then never mind." Haines shrugged. "Hugo said he had quite a few drinks and that Atlas wouldnât pick him up. Iâm going to pick him up."
"Are you going to be alright, sir?"
"I have a bad leg, but I can drive," Haines reassured as he walked to where Butler Jen was standing. "Also, Butler Jen, itâs already late. You should rest."
Butler Jen smiled at him and nodded. "I was just about to, but I thought I should check some locks."
"Rest and make someone else do that instead."
"Yes, Sir Haines." Butler Jen walked him to the entrance. "If you need a driver, I can call one."
"Thereâs no need for that. Itâs already too late to bother anyone."
Butler Jen chuckled, thinking that Haines didnât want to bother anyone, but Haines himself was being bothered to pick up his nephew. But then again, Hugo rarely called for help. Butler Jen watched Haines jump into the car and waved as the car sped away.
"I wonder what is keeping him awake at this hour?" he wondered to himself, his brows rising as he saw a sports car driving past Hainesâ car. Even with just the car, Butler Jen could immediately tell who was just coming home at this hour.
Butler Jen waited outside until the car stopped at the side of the driveway. "Good... morning, Third Young Master."
"Hey, Butler Jen," Slater lazily walked out of the car and approached. "Why are you still awake? Isnât it a bit late now?"
Slater then gasped before Butler Jen could tell him the reason. "Butler Jen, donât tell me youâve been waiting for me to come home? Do I really worry you a lot?"
"..." Butler Jen maintained a smile, biting his tongue to stop whatever he was about to say. "Have you eaten, Third Young Master?"
"No." Slater frowned dejectedly. "James told me that I gained weight! And that I need to diet."
"Then, Iâll heat up some soup for you."
"Butler Jen..." Slaterâs eyes softened, turning round as Butler Jenâs devotion touched him. "Iâd be very sad once I move out again."
"Letâs just go inside, Third Young Master." Butler Jen motioned for Slater to start moving. Having said that, Slater dragged his feet inside.
"Butler Jen, itâs a good thing I didnât go to my First Brother. I told him that weâd go to dinner together, but he got angry that I was late," Slater mumbled, thinking that his dinner plans with Atlas had been canceled because he made the mistake of telling his first brother heâd be late.
"I see." Butler Jen nodded in agreement. "The First Young Master is probably busy. He hasnât gone home yet."
"Ah." Slater shrugged. "Heâs not that busy. He just had to pick up Second Brother."
Deep lines appeared on Butler Jenâs face as he looked at Slater. "Heâs going to pick up the Second Young Master?"
"Uh, yes?" Slater furrowed his brows as he saw the confusion on Butler Jenâs face. "Butler Jen, why?"
"Sir Haines just left... to pick up the Second Young Master? He said the First Young Master didnât want to pick him up."
"Huh? Thatâs weird. First Brother is already going to pick him up."
The two of them stared at each other in utter confusion. What was going on?

Hugo carried Ginnie on his back as he walked out of the nightclub. With him were Grace and Lily. Max had left to get his car ready, having agreed to drive Lily and Ginnie home.
"Hey, Lily," Hugo whistled to get Lilyâs attention. Unlike earlier, Lily didnât seem drunk at all. "Thanks for inviting me tonight. It was fun!"
Lily grinned. "Of course, it was. Iâd invite you more next time!"
"You can, but I canât guarantee I can come all the time. Iâm busy nowadays," he hummed, taking a deep breath and enjoying the polluted air of the city. "But tonight... I really appreciate it."
"Youâre welcome," Lily winked at him, eyes veering to Ginnie. "Ginnie got drunk so easily."
"I think itâs the music and the continuous chats," Grace commented, touching her cheek with the back of her hand. "Nephew, is your uncle coming?"
"Yep!" Hugo nodded. "Uncle Haines never lets any of his nephews or nieces down."
"Isnât he a good man?" Grace quipped. "Though, I donât think heâd appreciate it once he finds out what youâve done."
"Heâll scold me, so make sure to steal his heart!"
"Kiss him if necessary!" Lily suggested happily. "Oh, my ride is here!"
A car stopped a few steps from where they were standing as Lily faced the two of them. Hugo furrowed his brows.
"Didnât you say Max would drive you home?" he asked, only for Lily to grin mischievously.
"I did?" she returned, dramatically touching her head. "Well, I guess I am really drunk."
"You didnât look drunk at all just a second ago," he said. At the same time, another luxury car pulled in front of them. Slowly, Hugo, Lily, and Grace turned to the car. They watched the front passenger seat window roll down, catching Max lowering his head to look back at them.
"Get in," he said, but as soon as he did, he caught Lily running to the other car behind him.
"Tell Ginnie that I love her a lot and that Iâm so drunk I didnât know how I got home~!" Lily yelled before jumping inside the other car. Whatever she said to her driver made their car quickly speed away, leaving Grace, Hugo, and Max unable to respond.
"Well, I guess youâll have to take her home!" Grace laughed, snapping her attention back to Max. "Take care of her, Max."
"But I donât know where her house is!" Max panicked, but as he did, Grace already opened the front passenger seat.
"Iâll try calling Penny and ask Ginnieâs address," said Hugo, as he carried Ginnie and placed her in the front passenger seat. After he buckled her up and reclined the seat a little, he turned to Max. "Iâll send you a message once I hear from Penny."
Hugo then pointed at Max. "If I hear you did something bad to her, Iâll snap your neck. Do you understand?"
"Youâ"
"Take care~" Grace bent over to the window, smiling at Max from ear to ear. "And good luck."
Maxâs breath hitched as he watched Hugo close the door. The latter lowered his head again and warned him one last time before the two walked back, waiting for their ride.
Max didnât drive away immediately. Instead, his eyes fell on Ginnie in the front passenger seat. His heart pounded against his chest in total distress. In the end, he looked away from her and idled without driving, stabilizing his heart and telling himself it would be fine.
"Just what kind of friends would leave their friends in another manâs care?" he mumbled, glaring at the window beside Ginnie. "Also, that jerk...!"
His anger, however, disappeared when Ginnie hummed and moved a bit. He sighed and shook his head before proceeding to drive away, knowing he couldnât park here for too long.
