Chapter 284: She would never do that... unless there’s a valid reason.
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
"When are you planning to have children?"
"Where did you spend your honeymoon?"
"How many children do you want?"
"How did the two of you meet?"
"Do you prefer a boy or a girl?"
These were the kinds of questions Penny never imagined she would have to face in her lifetime. Even in her first life, no one had ever asked her these questions. But now, she had to face all of them with a smile.
"When are you planning to have children?"
âWe havenât discussed that yet,â Penny wanted to say, but Zoren spoke up first.
"Weâre trying," Zoren answered flatly.
"Where did you spend your honeymoon?"
âWell, we chose Japan...â
"Every time weâre together." Again, he answered right away.
"I see. So how many children do you want?"
Like I said, we havenât discussed...
"Quadruplets. Less hassle." Once again, Penny didnât get a chance to respond.
"How did the two of you meet?"
âIn Japan, while I was at the museum...â
"Fate brought us together."
"Do you prefer a boy or a girl?"
"..."
"Doesnât matter if they are four. Both genders will be in the mix... maybe."
Penny was horrified!
All the questions were directed at her, but the answers were coming from the other side! But that wasnât the reason she was flustered â it was because his answers were too... vulgar!
Quadruplets?! Honeymoon every time they were together?
Was he actually a player?!
"Tsk." Old Mrs. Pierson clicked her tongue and glanced at her grandson, who had been answering all the questions for Penny.
"Grandma, Penny is a shy person. These types of questions fluster her because theyâre too direct," he explained, not considering that his answers flustered her more than the usual questions adults ask newlyweds.
"Oh! Haha!" Old Mrs. Pierson let out a chuckle. "No wonder her face is so red!"
"Is it?" Zoren tilted his head, curious.
Penny, on the other hand, held her breath and forced a smile. "Grandma... haha. My darling is a little too direct, so Iâm a bit uncomfortable."
"Hahaha! Right, right! We women just want to show that side to our spouses!"
âThe only side I want to show him right now is my wrath!â she mentally cried out.
The corner of Zorenâs lips curled up in amusement, sensing Pennyâs distress at the situation. He shouldnât be smiling at this moment, but he couldnât help it.
âItâs been a while since I heard Grandmaâs voice this lively and energetic,â he thought, his blurry eyes softening at the sound around him. âI feel... warm.â
"Oh, my little daughterâs child." Old Mrs. Pierson happily held Pennyâs hand and patted it. "Itâs alright, child. Forgive Grandma for making you shy. Iâm simply happy and excited about this meeting. If I hadnât come here, I wouldnât have met you because that boy is too territorial at times."
Her smile softened as she nodded approvingly at Penny. "Had I known about your marriage, I wouldnât have worried so much. But then again, I donât blame you for choosing to keep it private."
"Grandma..." Penny sighed helplessly, feeling a little sorry for deceiving this wonderful woman. "Iâm... sorry."
"Itâs alright. You donât have to apologize, child." Old Mrs. Pierson shook her head. "Iâm just glad weâve met, and that someone is truly on my grandsonâs side now. He is many things, and he can be a bit of a troublemaker, but heâs a kind man. Iâm not just saying this because heâs my grandson; I just know heâs a good man."
Pennyâs smile faltered slightly as she glanced at Zoren. "I know, Grandma," she said, turning her eyes back to Old Mrs. Pierson. "My husband is a fair man."
The two women smiled at each other, while Zoren fixed his gaze on Penny.
He didnât know why she would say such a thing with such certainty, but it made him smile.

[Bennet Household]
"Haines, this is getting suspicious. Why are you suddenly ordering a halt to the investigation?" Wildâs lazy and naturally arrogant voice came from the other end of the line. "And by the way, I donât take orders from you. Not because I am here and you are there, youâre my boss!"
"I never said to put a complete stop to it. Just donât make any effort. At least make it look like youâve hit another dead end." Haines, seated on the long couch inside the study, leaned back comfortably in the chair. "These arenât my orders; theyâre Pennyâs. If it were up to me, I wouldnât have called you."
"Why? Why first?" Wild grunted. "You guys should tell me whatâs going on in there, alright? Donât keep me in the dark just because Iâm here and youâre there! Iâll be there once Iâve finished some things over here!"
Another shallow breath slipped past Haines as he held the phone to his ear. "Just do it for now, Wild. Penny will explain everything to you in the future. Donât forget sheâs still preparing for her office here, and thereâs been some talk from rival companies who are against Prime Group entering the market."
"Tch. Stupid bastards!"
"Iâm counting on you for that."
"Fine, fine! Iâll do it! Just make it not obvious, right? Iâll show that weâve made no progress." Wild ruffled his hair in irritation while Haines hummed in agreement. "By the way, Haines, are you sure Penny isnât in danger?"
Haines furrowed his brows. "No, why?"
"That bratty little benefactor deployed her own team to guard a new client," Wild said as he glanced around their empty headquarters. "She flew half of them to that country under a priority order. She didnât even lend them to the minister when he asked for her help but sent her third-best team. Yet, she suddenly changed her list and sent her elite team just a few days after accepting their application."
Wild paused, tilting his head. "What changed her mind?"
"I donât know," said Haines, confused. "But if thatâs true, then it is strange indeed. She would never do that... unless thereâs a valid reason."
