Chapter 325: Doesn’t mind skipping a few steps
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
Surprised, intrigued, and a little confused, Butler Jen blinked, witnessing all types of emotions unfolding right before his eyes.
"Oh, Penny!" Allisonâs excited voice broke the brief silence. "I guess your date doesnât mind skipping a few steps!"
Allison giggled, shaking Penny as if they were the same age.
"Oh..." Penny cleared her throat and glanced at everyone else. She could see the fiery look in their eyes as if they were ready to meet Zoren and bury him somewhere.
"You all behave, alright?" Allison instructed, knowing her daughterâs worry. "If any of you ruin this special day, you will get a piece of me!"
Charles and her sons kept their lips tightly sealed. They heard Allison, but at the same time, they were curious about what type of clown had seduced Penny.
"Penny?" Allison faced her daughter once more. "Letâs go meet your date."
Penny reluctantly nodded. âFor some reason, Iâm nervous... not about the date, but how it will go with Renren and my brothers.â
From the looks on her brothersâ faces and even her fatherâs, they seemed ready to set Zoren on fire. Even so, she reluctantly dragged her feet, with Allison beside her.
"This feels like a prom night," Allison couldnât help but giggle, earning Pennyâs attention. She smiled at Penny as she added, "You never went to prom, so we missed this experience."
"Is this how girls go to their prom?"
"Mhm. You have no idea," Allison quipped. "Surely, no one is ever late for anything."
Looking at the smile on Allisonâs face, Penny felt less nervous. As long as her mother was here, she knew her father and brothers would behave.
When they reached the main door, Butler Jen slowly opened it for them.
Slowly, Penny and Allison stepped out onto the porch. As soon as they did, their eyes fell on the tall man standing outside with a bouquet in his hand. Allison briefly looked him over from head to toe before a satisfied smile appeared on her face.
âNo wonder my daughter likes him,â thought Allison. âHe looks like a handsome gentleman. He reminds me of how Charles courted me.â
Penny, on the other hand, furrowed her brows as she observed Zoren. She hadnât imagined what he would wear or what he would bring, but in the back of her mind, she had assumed he would be in a suit. She hadnât expected him to be in a casual light-colored sweater and pants.
Zoren smiled amicably as he slowly took the short steps up to Penny. Stopping in front of them, he quickly sensed the intense bloodlust from behind her. Even so, he maintained a friendly smile.
"Uh..." Penny opened and closed her mouth, a little confused about what to say at this moment.
"So, you are Pennyâs date?" Allison took the initiative to break the ice, smiling. "Hi, I am Allison, Her mom."
Zoren nodded. "My nameâs Zoren Pierson," he said before carefully handing the bouquet to her. "This is for you, maâam."
"Oh?" Allison furrowed her brows as she accepted the flowers in confusion. "Arenât these for my daughter?"
"Theyâre for you, maâam. I have hers, but it would be for later," Zoren explained kindly, making Allison smile in approval.
âOh, heâs good at this!â Penny blinked as she darted her eyes between them. âIs this his first time? Or the hundredth time?!â
"Ahem!" Charles cleared his throat aloud, only to see Zoren offering his hand to him. As a man, Charles clasped Zorenâs hand and squeezed it tightly. "Zoren, is it?"
"Yes, sir."
"Okay. Zoren, you better take care of my daughter today, do you understand?" Charles projected an intimidating aura. "Do not upset her, and take her home on time. If you do anything silly and make her upset, forget about ever stepping foot in this house."
Zoren nodded. "Understood."
"And youâ" Slaterâs remark was cut short when Allison suddenly clapped.
"Well, you two have an entire day together!" Allison jumped in front, trying to block her sons, but to no avail. Her sons were taller than her. But with her in front and after casting them a glare, they didnât dare cross the line she drew.
"Zoren, take care of our princess today, okay?" Allison said gently. "Donât think of anything else and enjoy the day!"
"We will," Zoren smiled back. "Or at least, I will enjoy it for sure."
Penny pressed her lips and cast him a conflicted look. She looked away slightly, but her cheeks had already turned a little pink.
"Iâll take her home on time and in one piece," he said politely before casting Penny a look. "Shall we?"
"Mhm," she forced a smile before looking back at them. "Weâre going now!"
"Mhm. Take care!" Allison waved, watching Zoren assist Penny down the short steps. He even opened the backseat door for her, placing a hand over Pennyâs head as she bent over to get in before he walked around the truck to get in on the other side.
"What a gentleman," she whispered, hugging the bouquet in her arms, her eyes on the moving car. "No wonder my Penny has a crush on him."
All of them stared at the carâs rear with mixed emotions.
"Honey, didnât she say heâs blind?" Charles couldnât help but wonder. "He doesnât look blind to me."
"He looks dead!" Slater harrumphed when he couldnât take it anymore. He slapped his chest and added, "Canât Penny see me? Iâm setting an example of what to look for in terms of appearance in men!"
Everyone looked at Slater, but they couldnât really argue with him. Slater was very handsome â like an angel sent from the heavens. Not that Zoren was ugly or average; his height, figure, and face were more than average. However, his paleness was too much to ignore.
"Though, heâs surprisingly polite. I thought I would hate him," Atlas muttered. "Still, he looked a little familiar. I wonder where I saw him?"
The corner of Hugoâs lips curled up, ignoring Atlasâs remarks. "Doesnât matter. I guess, even if they end up married, sheâll be widowed in no time."
His remark earned his motherâs glare, but it also brought up concern. Would that guy even last long in this world?
