Chapter 406: Why are you with him?
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
It had been a while since Zoren stayed over at the old residence for breakfast. Naturally, Old Mrs. Pierson was gleeful and energetic, delighted to spend the morning with her beloved grandson and his wife. With how much joy reigning over her, Old Mrs Pierson could throw a big banquet.
Not that she had to because this time, though, the servants were prepared.
"Wow..." Penny gasped in awe, staring at the feast laid out on the table. Her eyes sparkled as she almost felt her drool slip out of her mouth. The sight of it immediately made her stomach growl, reminding her she hadnât had anything for breakfast.
Hearing her exclamation, the servants nodded and smiled proudly.
âMiss Penelope, when we heard you and the young master were coming over for breakfast, we all woke up early to prepare.â
âWe even helped the chefs, and Butler Hubert told them to increase the portions.â
âThis time, you do not need to hold back! You can eat as much as youâd like.â
Though the servants didnât speak aloud, their pride was evident on their faces. They watched the family gather around the table, pleased to see Pennyâs eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Iâll just have toast..." Zoren spoke, trailing off as his plate was suddenly filled. "..."
"Renren, you should eat a lot," Penny encouraged, though Zoren suspected sheâd piled all this food on his plate so she could share his food later. "This breakfast is healthy. Itâs good for you."
He shrugged with a chuckle. "Okay."
"You too, my dear!" Old Mrs. Pierson chimed in, encouraging Penny to eat. "Eat as much as you like. Weâve prepared plenty, so donât worry!"
"Hehe. Thank you, Grandma," Penny replied, blushing as she looked at the food in front of her.
It wasnât that she lacked food at home or that her family ever starved her. It was actually the opposite. But it had been a full week since sheâd stayed for breakfast. After all, Prime Group had just started operations, and she was swamped with paperwork. The last breakfast with Renren was not digested well because she was the breakfast.
"Thank you for the food," she said politely, and she took small portions to fill her plate.
Zoren smirked, noticing her modest serving. âI knew it,â he thought before starting his meal.
During Pennyâs first visit to the residence, Zoren had been astonished at how much she could eat. Out of curiosity, he had piled food on her plate, and she ate them all! Today, he added more food for her while he ate, knowing full well how much food she could handle despite her small frame.
Though Zoren had long accepted that his wife had an impressive appetite, the servants were still in shock. They had been proud of the feast they prepared, but now it wasnât just Penny eating heartily â both Old Mrs. Pierson and Zoren were eating more than usual too!
While they didnât match Pennyâs portions, they were definitely eating more than normal.
"Oh my goodness..." Butler Hubert murmured, covering his mouth as he watched the trio. His eyes welled up at the heartwarming scene.
The other servants, too distracted by the empty plates, didnât notice the atmosphere at first. But Butler Hubert was focused on the familyâs faces. To him, it felt almost like a dream unfolding.
When the servants noticed Butler Hubert, they furrowed their brows in confusion. He wiped his eyes with a handkerchief, smiling through tears.
"Miss Penelope is truly a blessing to this family," he said, voice thick with emotion. "Itâs been a long time since Iâve seen the Old Madam and the Young Master so lively and peaceful."
The servants shifted their focus from the food to the people around the table, and realization dawned on them. They immediately understood why Butler Hubert was so emotional. Butler Hubert had been with the family for nearly his entire life, serving them even when Zorenâs father was still alive.
"If the Master were watching, Iâm sure heâd be smiling," Butler Hubert added, and the servants nodded in agreement. "The Old Madam and the Young Master are in good hands now."
Though it should have been the other way around, Pennyâs influence on the Pierson family was undeniable. The servants nodded again.
"Donât worry, Butler Hubert," one servant whispered. "Weâll take good care of Miss Penelope."
"And weâll keep preparing everything for her until she canât move," added another with a grin.
"Weâll make sure she loves coming back every time," the third servant said cheerfully.
Butler Hubert nodded approvingly. "Good. Then letâs prepare more foodâweâll fill the Young Masterâs fridge again."
"Yes!" the servants replied in unison, eager to keep Penny happy.
Penny, after all, was the only one who could bring the residence to life. Normally, the house was so quiet and gloomy that even whispers echoed through the halls. It had been a while since the staff had something positive to talk about while working. Pennyâs last visits had given them new conversations, new joy.
No doubt, theyâd be chatting about her happily until her next visit.

Penny and Zoren lingered after the meal, chatting idly with Old Mrs. Pierson. After about an hour, they finally bid her goodbye.
In the backseat of the car, Zoren glanced at Penny with a smile. "Full?" he asked, sensing her drowsiness from the heavy meal.
"Mhm. Food coma is hitting me," she mumbled, her hand resting on her stomach.
"You can rest."
She shook her head. "Iâm okay. Iâll just relax."
"Alright." He nodded, staring at her profile with a satisfied smile.
They fell into comfortable silence on the way back to Zorenâs place. Unbeknownst to them, as they drove back, Dean â driving along another street â came to a stop.
Narrowing his eyes, Dean spotted his uncleâs car passing in front of him. Deep lines appeared between his brows. Though the windows were slightly tinted, he could see a figure inside. And even from a glimpse, he knew that silhouette all too well.
"Why are you with him?" he whispered in disbelief and surprise, his heart thudding as his pupils dilated. "Penny?"
