Chapter 433: I’ll have to do it
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
Penny and Renny met this hostility with equal fervor.
"Blacky!" Penny yelled as the black panther leaped into action, confronting their enemies.
Meanwhile, Penny faced four men at once.
The corner of her mouth curled into a grin, her eyes gleaming as she scanned their grim faces. Her gaze briefly lingered on the men she had already taken down. They were all scatted right behind the men standing before her.
"What a bother," she murmured, stretching her neck from side to side. She then clenched her fists and raised them in front of her, spreading her legs slightly and moving her foot forward.
Once she was in a proper fighting stance, she announced, "Letâs do this."
A dangerous glint flickered in her eyes as she watched the men lurch toward her. Penny grinned, preparing for their attack. When the first man stepped into her range, he reached out to grab her. She swiftly slid her arm around his, twisting it until he was forced to kneel before her.
Penny delivered a chopping blow to his neck and stomped on his calf to incapacitate him. At the same time, she noticed a jab from the corner of her eye. She moved her head back to dodge it and then bit the attackerâs arm.
"Ah!"
Penny released the unconscious man, lifting her foot to kick the one she was biting in the abdomen. Her kick sent him stumbling back, allowing a third attacker to close in. She faced him with the same speed and strength as the others.
THUD!
A look of satisfaction crossed her face as she watched the men writhe on the floor. Just as she was about to revel in her victory, a loud yell from behind startled her.
"Ahhhh!"
Penny froze as a pair of arms locked around her waist from behind. She gritted her teeth, knowing the man would soon throw her to the ground. Thankfully, her weight bought her some time to counter the situation.
Taking sidesteps until half of her lower body was behind the man, Penny reached for his leg and pulled him backward, forcing him to let go. In the blink of an eye, the man fell face-first, hitting the floor and breaking his nose. Penny then kicked his back and stood on it.
"Ackâ" The man tried to push himself away when a strike landed between his neck and shoulder, knocking him out cold.
Everything happened so fast that one would have to wonder what had just happened. However, no one had the leisure to simply watch because Renny was attacking the rest at the same time.
Penny let out a huff, her feet still on the manâs back as she squatted. Scanning the aftermath of the fight, she grinned proudly. When she turned her head towards Renny, the black panther met her gaze.
Just like the unconscious bodies around her, Renny was also surrounded by fallen foes.
"Good job, Blacky!" she cheered, jumping off the manâs back and straightening up. She nodded approvingly and gave him a thumbs-up. "But weâve been at this for too long. Letâs move!"
She was concerned that the longer they fought, the more time they gave Nathaniel time to escape. Letting him get away was the last thing she wanted.
"Blacky, change of plans!" she yelled, approaching the nearby window to assess the situation outside. She saw more men in uniform surrounding the area, all clearly prepared to take her down.
"Fighting all of them shouldnât be a problem. I mean, dying in the process isnât the worst thing," she shrugged, casting a look at Renny. "However, it would be a shame not to reach that guy â or at least drag him to hell with me, right?"
Renny let out a low growl, clearly displeased with her words. Gazing out the window, he suddenly leaped and crashed through it.
"Huhâwait!" Pennyâs brows rose as she watched the black panther engage with the men outside. "Blacky..."
She pursed her lips, touched by the pantherâs willingness to make things easier for her. Her heart softened with affection and appreciation, thinking that only this panther truly understood her. Seeing Renny fighting fiercely, buying her time, Penny nodded in determination.
"Donât worry, Blacky. Iâll definitely come back for you once Iâm done with him." Penny lingered near the window, her eyes on the panther before she turned away. Ignoring the unconscious bodies on the floor, she ran over them to continue her journey.
---
Although the main residence was large, it wasnât as sprawling as one might expect. The wide lot it occupied made approaching it a challenge, though, and it was clearly designed that way.
Under normal circumstances, Penny would have critiqued the design. But right now, she saw it as a prison and didnât question the layout. She simply needed to get inside the main residence. The problem was, she didnât have a clear understanding of the buildingâs blueprint, so she often ended up in the wrong place.
"Huh!?" Pennyâs face contorted as she found herself in a separate kitchen in a guest house. The lights were off, but the glow from outside was enough to reveal her location. "I think Iâve reached the main building. But it seems... this place is tricky and full of illusions."
She sighed deeply, shaking her head. Approaching the kitchen sink, she noticed a window on the wall. Peeking through it, she saw a way into the main residence.
âI should go through here,â she thought, giggling at the idea of using the window as a shortcut. But before she could act, she sensed a dangerous presence behind her. The corner of her lips curled up as she glanced at the drawer in front of her.
"Stop right there," Mark hissed, his eyes fixed on her back.
Penny glanced over her shoulder. "And what if I donât want to?"
"Then..." Markâs eyes gleamed dangerously. "... Iâll have to make you."
