Chapter 518: Fun fact!
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
"Want me to take care of him? My other profession is that Iâm actually a professional fly swatter. I can take care of him if you want."
Hugo had taken care of countless flies before they even tried to linger around Penny. His sister was stunning, and he wasnât saying this just because she was his sister. Even the men in the barracks would always follow Penny with their eyes. He had to punish them for itâunreasonable as it may soundâunder the guise of keeping his subordinates in touch with reality.
Zoren was the only fly he couldnât swat because, well, that guy was sly enough to seduce his sister discreetly. Even so, except for Zoren, Hugo could handle the rest.
Penny, on the other hand, couldnât help but laugh at him. "Second Brother, itâs fine. I can handle him. If not, Iâd call you... remember?" She wiggled her brows, reminding him of how she asked for his help to take care of Ray.
"If you say so." Hugo nodded. "So? What did this guy do to make you so angry you were about to break the treadmill? Look at itâitâs smoking."
"Itâs not what he did, but what heâll do." Penny rested her hand on her side, reclining slightly. "Dean Pierson... what a guy."
Hugo arched a brow, familiar with the name. But just as he opened his mouth, Slaterâs voice reached their ears.
"Dean Pierson?"
Hugo and Penny turned their heads to see Slater approaching with his duffel bag slung over his shoulder. Slater casually placed the bag beside the bench and stood before them. He smiled and moved away the stuff between Hugo and Penny before sitting down.
"Hehe." Slater giggled, and Penny arched a brow.
"Third Brother? What are you doing here?"
"Ah, about him..." Hugo grinned awkwardly, tilting his head to see Penny over Slaterâs body. "I invited him. Itâs what Iâve been trying to tell you, but you were too busy venting."
"Oh."
"Penny, Iâm bored, and Second Brother said I could come." Slater frowned. "Donât tell me you donât want me here?"
"No, Iâm just asking," Penny muttered. "Please donât take it to the heart."
Slater was easily appeased, smiling and nodding in satisfaction. "So, what did that Dean guy do to my little sister?"
Penny sucked her inner cheeks, hesitating. She darted her eyes between her brothers, pursing her lips as she cleared her throat. Her brothers knew Dean Pierson, but they didnât know him personally. After all, anyone who went to the Summit School of Excellence would know the number one in the star section.
"Well, he just told me a bunch of nonsense so early in the morning," she said, keeping it vague since Slater was unaware of the incident between her and Haines. "My mood got ruined, so... yeah."
"Ahh..." Slater nodded while Hugo simply raised his brows. The latter knew Penny was holding back details because of Slater, so he didnât pry further.
"Iâll take care of him!" Slater declared proudly. "Donât worry about it, Penny. If heâs bothering you, then as your third brother, Iâll handle him."
Hugo: "..." He veered his gaze to the man sitting between him and Penny.
"Itâs okay." Penny chuckled. "I can handle him."
"I know you can, but Iâll do it."
"Third Brother, just because youâre bored doesnât mean you should act like that." She pouted. "Besides, Dean is my husbandâs nephew. Their family is a little complicated, but donât worry. Iâll take care of him."
"Penny, have you told Zoren about this?" Hugo asked, curious. "Theyâre family, and he should be the one dealing with his own family."
Slater nodded. "Second Brotherâs right. Why are you dealing with him when your husband should be the one dealing with his own family? I mean, he doesnât deal with me because you already do that."
"Third Brother, is that why you keep berating him so openly? Because you know he wouldnât deal with you, but I would?"
"Nope."
Penny hissed, noticing the brief guilt in his eyes. Slater could be sneaky and cunning when he wanted to. Now that Slater was spending more time with them due to his lack of activities, Penny was slowly catching on to his cunningness. It was surprising, but well, Slater wouldnât be successful if he were truly that gullible.
Moreover, his manager was the president of his agencyâJames wouldnât bother, even if Slater was a superstar. If anything, James would just give him the best team to manage him. But that wasnât the case.
"Anyway, I still think this should be brought up with Zoren," Hugo commented, snapping Penny out of her thoughts. "Iâm sure heâll know how to deal with this."
"Why do I have to tell Renren when I said I can handle it?"
"Because... youâre married?" Deep lines appeared between Hugoâs brows, confused. "Isnât that what married couples do?"
"Penny, just donât get married." Slater shook his head, eyes burning with determination. "I think itâs best if you live on your ownâor maybe live with me? We will have tons of fun together!"
Penny just ignored Slaterâs proposal, glancing up as she hummed. "Okay." She shrugged. "Iâll tell him and pray he wonât kill him."
"I donât think your husband has that much strength," Slater commented, causing Penny to snicker.
âIf only you knew,âshe thought. âThat guy might seem like that at first, but his stamina is better than ninety-eight percent of people in this gym.â
As Penny thought of Zorenâs strength, stamina, and enthusiasm, she almost forgot her brothers were still with her. When she realized it, her proud smirk stiffened. Slowly, she twisted her neck to face them, only to see them looking back at her with furrowed brows.
"Say, Second Brother..." Slater muttered, eyes on Penny. "Did Penny just look... evil?"
Hugo nodded. "For some reason, Iâm worried about Zoren Pierson."
"Hey!" Penny intoned, frowning at them. "I just thought of something funny, alright?!"
But her excuse didnât change their expressions. Penny cleared her throat and quickly thought of a distraction. An idea immediately came to mind.
The side of her mouth stretched into a grin. "Fun fact! Did you know Ray is Zorenâs cousin?"
Hugo: "Huh?"
Slater: "Eh?"
After a moment, their noses wrinkled in dismay as they both exclaimed,
