Chapter 746: She’s not that easy.
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
"Penny, Iâm so glad you asked me to come help you today," Lily said as she walked out of the residence with Penny. "Ginnieâs been such a bummer and hates it when I try to dress her up."
Penny smiled, walking Lily to her car. "I should be the one thanking you. Be careful on your way."
"Mhm." Lily grinned from ear to ear. "Anyway, Iâm also glad youâre not letting it affect you."
"Huh?"
"Nina," Lily clarified. "I heard about what happened. I heard she called off the engagement, and then Finn got into an accident shortly after. Knowing you, I was a little worried youâd stop everything just to be with her."
"If I do that, itâs like punishing Nina."
Lily nodded. "Thatâs why Iâm glad youâre not letting it get to you."
"Lily, have I ever been someone who stops just because others are going through something?"
"No, but you slow down. If not, youâre like a raging bull. I prefer the former, since the latter scares me a bit, just a tiny bit." Lily smirked playfully. "Anyway, are you sure youâre going to wear that to the office?"
"Is there a problem with it?"
Lily didnât answer right away, instead assessing Penny up and down. Penny was wearing simple jeans, a shirt, and a jacketânothing like the usual smart casual attire she would wear to the office. It looked more like she was heading for a stroll.
"Nothing," Lily finally replied. "You look perfect in anything."
"Haha. Go now."
"And you?"
"After you," Penny smirked, tilting her head in a direction.
Lily slowly shifted her gaze to where Penny gestured and raised an eyebrow when she saw a motorbike. "Youâre going to ride that?"
"Iâve been going to the office with itâa few times a week."
"And your clothes?"
"I sometimes change in the office." Penny grinned. "I have a room above my office, and since Iâm not using it, I decided to put some clothes in there."
"Oh..." Lilyâs mouth formed an "o" shape. "Iâm surprised your husband is letting you."
"Youâd be surprised by what else he lets me do," Penny quipped, giving Lily a gentle push into the backseat. "Go now. I know you have lots of things to do, and Iâve already taken up half your morning."
Lily chuckled, settling into the backseat. But before Penny could close the door, Lily held onto the handle and peeked out.
"Penny," she called, watching Penny raise her eyebrows. "Youâre going, right? To the fan club reunion."
"I never heard of such a thing... like a fan club reunion."
"Please...?"
Penny studied the look on Lilyâs pretty face and sighed. "Iâll think about it."
"Great!"
"Now, take care."
With that, Penny closed the door for Lily and stepped back. She waved, watching Lily wave back through the tinted window. When the car started moving, Penny didnât linger; she walked over to her motorbike.
"She hasnât changed," Lily murmured, watching Penny as the car pulled away. "She still does things however she wants. But isnât she the matriarch of the Pierson Family? How can they let her go off on her own on a motorbike?"
Lily hummed a tune and sighed, readjusting her position as she gazed out the window. When they crossed through the gates, she glanced at the side mirror and blinked at what she saw.
There, riding slowly in the driveway, was Penny on her motorbike. A few cars followed behind her.
"If I didnât know better, Iâd think she was the escort for the car in the middle," Lily commented quietly before breaking into a laugh. "Well, even though sheâs being treated like the first lady, Iâm glad sheâs still the Penelope I know. She doesnât feel that far and out of reach."

Meanwhile, at Pierson Corporation...
DING!
"Huh?" Benjamin frowned as the elevator stopped, glancing at the floor numbers above the door. "Who in the world would use this elevator, knowing itâs exclusive to the CEO?"
Whoever it was, Benjamin had a feeling they wouldnât be pleasant. He was right. As the doors slowly opened, the most unwelcome person he could imagine appeared.
William Pierson, along with a few of his lackeys.
"Zoren!" William grinned, his tone laced with surprise, which didnât match the contempt in his eyes. "I mean, CEO Pierson. I didnât know you were leaving the office early today, so I thought Iâd use this lift."
His mouth twisted into a cunning smirk, like a fox about to put a plan into motion. "May I?"
âThis shameless person!â
"Director Williamâ" Benjamin began but stopped when Zoren raised a hand, signaling him to stay quiet. After all, Benjamin was the only lackey who feared no one in the Pierson Family. Why would he, when Zoren had his back?
"Of course you may." Zoren offered his uncle a subtle smile, though it didnât reach his eyes.
William smirked, casting the cheeky Benjamin a taunting look. Benjamin grumbled, moving to the back with a heavy heart.
"Meet me in the lobby," William told his people outside the lift, smiling as the doors closed.
Standing side by side with Zoren, William cast him a sidelong glance. "Thank you for sharing the lift with me, Zoren."
"Generosity is something I do not deprive my people of," Zoren replied coolly. "William, you seem to be in a good mood."
"With the family meeting coming up, itâll once again show how united the Pierson Family is," William quipped, wiggling his brows at Zoren. "Doesnât that make you happy, Zoren?"
Zoren narrowed his eyes and lowered his gaze. "It does make me happy."
"Hehe." William chuckled, letting silence settle over them for a moment. But as they neared the ground floor, he spoke again. "Everyone is excited, especially to meet your wife. I wonât lie â Iâm eager to meet her as well."
"Zoren, sheâll be coming tonight, wonât she?" he asked, casting Zoren a meaningful look, but Zoren didnât answer.
DING!
"Well, here we are." William cleared his throat as the doors opened, smacking his lips while casting Zoren one last look. He didnât linger as he stepped out, but just as he did, he heard Zoren speak.
"You wouldnât want her there."
Williamâs brow furrowed deeply, glancing back at the lift where Zoren stood. "What did you say?"
"You wouldnât want my wife to be there," Zoren repeated, speaking slowly in case William didnât understand. He gave a subtle smile as the doors slowly closed, adding, "Sheâs not that easy."
