Chapter 870: What a great timing
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
There was a strange feeling in coming back to a place one used to go every day in the past. Despite the bad memories associated with it, a wave of nostalgia struck Ninaâs heart as she showed Jonathan around the campus.
Stopping on a pathway and gazing at the distant greenhouse, the corner of Ninaâs mouth curled up. Her eyes softened, and she let out a shallow sigh.
Jonathan stopped when she did, glancing in the direction where she was looking. "What is that greenhouse?"
"I mentioned there was a Star Section... thatâs their garden," she muttered, keeping her eyes on the beautiful greenhouse, which was gloriously reflecting the midday sun. "Itâs a place where the Star Section students relax or just idle. Itâs an exclusive area just for them."
"Oh..."
"I didnât get to go there when I was attending this school," Nina remarked, intending to stop there, but then she blurted out, "But he was always there."
"He?" Jonathanâs question made her flinch slightly, her brows rising. "Your fiancé?"
Looking back at him and seeing the curiosity in his eyes, she smiled. "Ex-fiancé."
"Right... that woman mentioned it earlier."
"Yes. Iâm sorry again about that."
"Itâs not your fault, so you donât have to apologize for anything." He shrugged nonchalantly. "It was that womanâs mind that was malicious."
Nina pursed her lips, looking away from him to stare at the exclusive garden for the Star Section students. The feeling was a little strange whenever she thought about how Finn and she had both attended the same school before she transferred to another.
Who would have thought she and Finn would get involved in a romantic relationship to the point of almost marrying each other?
"If your ex-fiancé is a star student as well, does that mean he knows Cassandra?" Jonathan asked, earning a look from Nina. "She told me that things in the Star Section only changed in her last year, with new people taking spots and others getting kicked out due to a bet."
"Ah..." Nina rocked her head and smiled. How was she going to explain that her ex was Finn, Cassandraâs ex-fiancé as well?
It wasnât that Nina didnât know Finn and Cassandraâs relationship was arranged by their families, but it still felt strange. However, Nina didnât plan to hide it, knowing that Jonathan would eventually find out.
"Well, the thing is... Cassandra andâ"
"Wait a minute," Jonathan suddenly interrupted her politely, pulling out his phone to check who was calling. The moment he saw the caller, his eyes snapped back to Nina. "Iâll just pick this up."
"Ohâsure, of course!" Nina stepped a few paces away to give him some privacy, while Jonathan also walked away from her.
Nina observed Jonathanâs figure but didnât dwell on it, refocusing her attention on the greenhouse. Throughout her relationship with Finn, they had talked about this school quite a few times. After all, they went to the same school, and although they had crossed paths back then, they never would have imagined falling in love with each other.
Nina, for one, didnât think she would almost marry such an amazing man.
"Iâve always thought about this, but he really was amazing, even as a child," she murmured. "No matter how hard I studied, I couldnât even top the class. The best I could do was barely make it into the top section."
Thinking about it made her even more impressed by Finn. But that feeling didnât last long as she was reminded of where Finn was now and what had happened between them. It wasnât like she was blaming Finn for everything, but things had happened.
"Uh..." Just then, Jonathanâs voice reached her. When she turned, he was already by her side, holding his phone with a strange look on his face.
"Is everything alright, Mr. Russel?"
"Mhm." He nodded, his eyes snapping back to her. "My girlfriend told me she might not make it."
"Huh?"
"She said an emergency came up, and she might be either late or not make it at all."
"Oh." Deep lines appeared between Ninaâs brows as she looked at him curiously. "Then, are you... what are you going to do?"
Jonathan shrugged. "Iâll probably leave."
"Oh." Nina pursed her lips, realizing that Jonathan was here as Cassandraâs plus-one. Jonathan didnât even attend school, having lived abroad almost all his life. Therefore, he would feel out of place if he stayed.
"My stuff is still in the gymnasium," he said. "Iâll grab it and bid Miss President goodbye."
"Okay. Letâs go?"
With that, the two of them walked back to the gymnasium, knowing at least a few people should have arrived by now. After all, Nina had seen several cars driving through the campus earlier.
Little did they know, there werenât just a few people who had arrivedâthe gymnasium was steadily filling up... and the drama was far from over.

Meanwhile...
When Patricia walked out on everyone before getting dragged out, a vile smirk appeared on her face. She didnât care if Ray or even Dean were offended. She had nothing left to lose. So, despite being chased out of the gymnasium, she still felt triumphant.
Patricia quickly fished her phone out of her new handbag as she stepped out of the gymnasium. However, just as she wasnât paying attention, she bumped into someone.
"Ah!" she yelped as she stumbled back, nearly losing her balance. "Are you blind?! How come youâre not looking... huh?"
Looking up at the person she had bumped into, she realized it wasnât just one person coming inâit was a group. The worst group she could bump into.
The Bennets... Mark and Ginnie.
âWhat great timing!âPatricia mentally hissed, thinking they were the worst group she could have encountered. She looked in Hugoâs direction, her face twitching as she took in his attire and the gigantic wings behind him. However, she didnât dwell on it as her eyes glossed over the Bennets, catching Penny and Ginnie staring at her.
âWhatâwhat?âPatriciaâs breath hitched.âWhy are they looking at me like... they know what happened?â
