Chapter 966: Where else would I go?
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
Wild and Haines had been in Anteca for months now. However, until now, the two of them hadnât properly met. How could they meet when, every time they had to, they kept standing up to each other?
So, it was safe to say that this was the first time Wild and Haines had met again after a long time.
"What the hell is wrong with Penny?"
Haines furrowed his brows and leaned forward, narrowing his eyes. He didnât read the lengthy message, but he saw the greeting and the introduction at the beginning.
The message was from Old Mrs. Pierson.
"It seems... Penny has lost her mind," Haines commented, showing Wild the message he received from the same sender. "This is the message I received at the same time."
Wildâs face contorted, not having the energy to read all the messages. He had already read enough to grasp the gist of it. It was just as unpleasant as the one he had received.
"Hey! What the â how dare you talk bad about my child!?" Suddenly, Charles chimed in. "My daughter is perfect! Sheâs not the one to lose her mind!"
Allison, on the other hand, just looked worried. "So, youâre Mister Wild? Penny told me lots of things about you. Itâs pleasant to meet you again, and Iâm sorry if I didnât recognize you immediately."
"Donât worry about it." Wild waved dismissively. "But your daughter is setting me up for a date â whoâs got the time?"
"Uhm, excuse me?" Jessa cleared her throat. "Did you say youâre *that* Wild, Penny always talks about?"
Wild arched a brow. "And you are?"
The corner of Jessaâs mouth hooked up as her eyelids drooped. "Iâm just a mother whoâs been abandoned by my child, only for him to be bullied by some old fart."
Wild blinked, watching how Jessaâs face darkened. Her eyes glinted, almost like they were red.
"A mother, huh?" he mumbled, only to remember Yugi and Pennyâs usual comment about Yugiâs mother. He took a step back briefly, laughing awkwardly. "So, youâre Yugiâs mother. Madamâ"
"Madam?! I donât remember being so old as to be called madam."
Wild turned to Haines and then caught Charles making a chopping motion in front of his throat. That meant Wild had to run, right? But before Wild could do so, Jessa had already grabbed his collar to stop him.
"Oh, ho..." Jessa giggled, smiling at him with her eyes squinting. "Donât leave yet. Iâd like to have a word with you first, okay?"

Meanwhile...
"Iâll be back later in the evening." Nina was sitting on the chair beside the bed, squeezing Finnâs hand. "Rest, okay? Iâll try to come back early so we can have dinner together."
Finn smiled and nodded at her. "Come back...?"
"Where else would I go?" she quipped as she let his hand go, standing beside the bed. Nina studied him with a smile, caressing his cheek before turning to leave.
This time, Nina looked back at him just before reaching the door. As soon as she did, Finn flashed her a gentle smile.
"See you later," she repeated, and he nodded before she closed the door.
As soon as Nina shut the door, she stood there motionlessly and sighed. She placed a hand on her nape, stretching her neck from one side to the other.
When they came back yesterday, the doctors acted like nothing had happened. Only then did Nina realize Cassandra didnât just use her license, but also her connections, to get Finn out of the hospital. Surely, rich people could do a lot of things.
But on the bright side, the doctors who had checked on Finn told her he would be fine. All Finn had to do was recover and rehabilitate because one of his arms was still weak from the accident. Other than that, Finn was fine â it was almost like a miracle, but the doctors had to give credit to the person who had been taking care of him.
"Itâs just a couple of hours," she told herself quietly. "Iâll bring him some warm soup later."
After saying that to herself, Nina turned. The moment she did, she flinched when she saw Yugi sitting on the bench.
"Achoo!" Yugi wiped his nose with his handkerchief, lifting his eyes to where Nina stood. "Iâm not judging."
Nina forced a smile. "The people who say they werenât judging are judging. Yugi, are you alright? Did you catch a cold?"
"Iâm fine." Yugi shrugged off the feeling that someone was talking ill about him, standing up to his feet. "Are you going to work now?"
"Yes."
"Then, Iâll drive you there."
"Yugi, itâs alright." Nina chuckled. "Donât you have to be at your office? Iâve already bothered you enough since yesterday until now."
Yugi waved dismissively. "Donât worry about that. Letâs just go."
"Butâ"
"Before you argue with me, know that I have all my arguments ready. And Iâm not in a hurry to go back to the office â Penny is aware too. So, I donât mind arguing with you in here for the next hour or so... but Iâm not sure if you can afford to be late."
Ninaâs smile grew helpless as she watched Yugi arch a brow at her. "Fine," she sighed in defeat. "Goodness. Would I ever win against you?"
Having said that, the two of them chuckled and walked away together.
"Donât worry. I ask the same question when it comes to Yuri. The only difference between her and me is that sheâs a psycho."
"I wonât tell her what you said."
"You better not."
"Haha."
As they walked toward the elevator of the building, Yugiâs gaze went past her. He nodded slightly at the person seated on the bench before shifting his focus back to Nina.

Meanwhile, inside the ward, Finn was reclining on the bed with a tablet in his hand. It had been a while since he read articles that might concern him. Surprisingly, there wasnât much that had happened while he was in a coma. The irony was that now that he was awake, an interesting article finally showed up.
"Atlas Bennet... was kicked out of Global Prime Logistics?" he whispered, peeling his eyes from the tablet to the window. He stared out the window quietly until he suddenly heard the door slide open without a knock beforehand.
Slowly, he turned his head toward the door, only to furrow his brows when he saw who was standing there.
