I wouldâve never guessed that Carmella would bring this up now. Caught off guard, I sit up and she gets off my chest, sitting up with me.
âWhy wouldnât you want to start having bables now?â Iâm not even able to look at her as I wish things could be different for us.
Gently, she runs her hand down my arm and rests her chin on my shoulder. âWe already plan on being a family anyway, so why not start now? I want our kids running around the apartment.â
Then, she places her hand on my chin so I can look to the side and meet her gaze, but I donât do it right away, and itâs because Iâm now thinking about Vanessa and the family we need to have.
Since Carmella doesnât know about it yet, I canât tell her that itâs the reason she and I shouldnât be having kids, so I think of something else, finally looking to the side..
âWhy do you want to have kids when you donât even care about them?â
She drops her hands from me with an eye roll. âBabe, thatâs different and you know it. The kids youâre talking about arenât mine.â
âThey donât have to be yours before you can care about them. Besides, I donât want to start a family with you now.â
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â Her voice is harsh as she glares at me.
âRelax, I only want to start a family with you after we get married.â
Her face brightens up and she wraps her arms around my neck. âThen Iâll wait for that time to come. Just donât make me wait too long.â
âItâll be soon. I promise.â
I know Iâm lying to her, but for now, itâs for the best
Slowly, she starts fondling my dick and I groan softly as it begins to harden.
âIf we keep doing this, weâll be late to the part.â I smirk at her.,
âWe can always be a little late.â She chuckles softly. âBy the way, will that bitch be there?â
âNo.â
âGreat, then Iâll have you all to myself.â
âDonât forget that we still need to be careful and not be seen so close together. Frankâs invited quite a number of people.â
âAs long as that bitch isnât around, Iâll have a blast with you.â
The fact that Iâve lied to her about starting a family soon, lingers on my mind and not even fucking her again helps me forget.

we shower together, I step out of the bathroom first as she arranges her products in order.

Iâm wrapped in a towel on my bottom half as I pat my body dry with another one.
Just as I approach the mirror, her phone rings on the table close to me, so I get closer. The caller ID shows no name as itâs only a phone

number.
âBabe, your phoneâs ringing.â
âWho is it?â she asks from inside the bathroom.
âI donât know. Itâs just a number.â
âJust a minute!â
She steps out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and I pick up her phone from the table, then extend my hand so I can give it to her.

soon as her eyes land on the screen, they widen a little and she snatches the phone from my hand, then declines the call with a harsh press of her thumb.
âWhy didnât you pick up?â I suspiciously narrow my eyes.
âSheâs my aunt, some distant relation of mine. Ugh! She keeps calling to ask for money. I didnât even bother to save her number, but I know it by heart.â
âIf you donât ever plan on picking up, why not just block the number?â
âLook, it doesnât matter. Forget about my annoying aunt. Eventually, sheâll realize that I donât want to talk to her.â
Not convinced, I refuse to let it go. âIt still doesnât make sense that
âBabe,â she cuts me off, kissing me on the lips. âLetâs just get ready and go to the party, hmm?â
Just then, my phone rings and itâs Frank. People have already started arriving.
Forgetting about Carmellaâs aunt, we both get ready and head to the party in separate cars.
Frank went all out for this party hosted at one of his nightclubs. The lighting is more spectacular than usual and because we have the same music taste, his playlist is so similar to what I was hoping for,
As much as I want to sit with Carmella, touch her and kiss her, I canât. There are so many people here. Sheâs sitting with a group of ladies but keeps teasing me by subtly grinding in her seat. I canât help but bite my lip.
âDude,â Frank says, smacking my shoulder so I look back at him.
âWhat is it?â
âI know sheâs yours, but stop making it too obvious. Unless you want everyone to take videos and pictures of you doing it and posting it all on
social media.â
âFine.â
I face him with my entire body, taking a sip from the whiskey on our table.
âYou know, Iâm still shocked that you came here with Carmella and not Vanessa.â
âWhy wonât you just let it go?â I sigh, shaking my head at him.

âIâll let it go once you tell me why Vanessaâs not with you.â
âShe didnât want to come because itâs that time of the month.â
âAnd you left her alone?â His jaw drops.
âYeahâ

âShouldnât you be taking care of her?â
âItâs not like sheâs dying or some shit like that.â
I were you, Iâd be constantly checking on her and making sure she gets everything she needs.â
âAnd thatâs why youâre not me. Even if I did what youâve just said, itâs impossible because she doesnât want anyone close to her.â
âThat doesnât matter. You should still be there with her. What if your parents call her or something?â
âShe plans to keep her phone off at most times. She doesnât want to talk to anyone. Relax, everyone thinks sheâs here with me and thatâs all that matters. Most importantly, no one from my family is coming here. Theyâre all busy with something. Thatâs what they told me.â
âI see, but I wouldâve loved to see her.â He strokes his chin with a smirk.
I donât like his gestures, and it makes me narrow my eyes at him.
âStop thinking about Vanessa. I already warned you about this.â
âRelax, it was just a thought I had.â He chuckles.
It doesnt matter. Donât think about her.â
âOoh, getting possessive now. I see.â
âIâm not getting possessive.â
âThen what are you doing right now?â
âIt doesnât matter. Enough about her. Arenât you curious about Project J 227â
rofit,
âOf course I am. I know you told me part of it, now give me all the details. Will you fully be working on it now?â
âYes, Iâll be busier than ever before and thatâs exactly what I need. My father already introduced me formally to the board of directors in the company. It was such a glorious moment.â
Just as Iâm about to tell him about my father wanting grandchildren before I can take over, his eyes widen as he looks behind me.
Curious, I say, âWhatâs wrong?â
âYou were tog
too confident that there would be no family here,â he whispers to me. âYouâre screwed!â
Wondering whatâs going on, I look beland me and instantly panic. Shit: Whatâs Jake doing here?
