Chapter 63
The Daring Billionaire’s Wife
Chapter 63
Dominic
As soon as Iâm at Carmellaâs bedroom door, I donât even have it in me to knock, so I just push it open and step inside.
Sheâs on the bed and when she sees me, she runs to me and wraps her arms around me. I guess sheâs doing much better but right now, I donât give a shit about that.
âBabe, youâre back, she says. âIâve been trying to reach you.â
Her arms are so tightly wrapped around my waist like everythingâs fine between us but right now, my bloodâs boiling.
âYou wonât believe what happened while you were away. Your mother was here and she was so mean to me. She ordered me. to leave this house but what she says doesnât matter as long as youâre in charge. Youâre the only one who can decide
âThen go,â I say to her with no hesitation, clenching my fists to contain my anger.
âWhat?â she asks, her head shooting up.
I donât ever want to look at her right now, so I keep my eyes on the wall as I pull away from her embrace by removing her arms from my waist
Just as I take a step back, she tries to take a few steps forward, but I canât stand her being so close to me right now.
Donât take another step closer,â I warn her, finally looking at her
I
âBabe, whatâs wrong with you? Are you still mad about this morning? I told you I didnât mean it, so stop being like this.â
Even right now, I canât believe how sheâs still so nonchalant about all this. It makes my blood boil even more.
âYou mustâve missed the part where I said you should leave this house.â I clench my jaw.
âYou donât mean that. Itâs a joke, right?â
âDid it sound like a joke to you?â
She scoffs. âWhat the hellâs gotten into you?â
Itâs taking everything in me not to start yelling right now.
âTell me what happened at the orphanage.â
âUgh! Why are we going over that ag-â
âI said tell me what fucking happened!
She flinches, placing a hand on her chest as she narrows her eyes at me, but she can tell just how serious I am right now, so she looks away.
âI donât know why youâre making me go over this again,â she says âI told you that I accidentally knocked Billy over.â
âAnd then what happened?â
âHeft because I felt bad.â
Her lies make me chuckle in disbelief.

âWhatâs funny?â she asks
Poking my cheek, I take out my phone with my hands shaking in anger. I made sure to get the footage for myself. Once I scroll to it, I play the first clip for her, holding up my phone in her face. Itâs the one where she shoves Billy to the floor and expresses her disgust. As she watches it, she gasps and covers her mouth.
âBabe, I can-
âShut up and let it play.â
Once itâs done, she attempts to speak, but I hold up my hand, telling her to wait. I breathe hard as I scroll to the next one. Itâs the moment when she was talking to Vanessa outside, bluntly telling her how she doesnât care.

widen so much that it looks like they might pop out.
Once itâs done playing, I shove my phone back in my pocket, glaring at her as she attempts to gain sympathy.
âItâs⦠itâs really not what it looks like. You have to believe me!â
âEven when everyone else was against you, I always came to your defense, but they were all right. I was a fool because I was the only one who couldnât see.â
âDonât believe whateverâs in those stupid clips, she says with a frantic gaze. âI just said all that in a fit of rage.
âDo you think Iâm stupid right now? Is that what you think of me I want you out of my house.â
âNo, please donât do this!â
I clench my fists, certain of what Iâm about to say to her, âI donât just want you out of this house, I want you out of
âWhat? You donât mean that. Weâ¦we love each other!â
She tries to touch me but I move back.
âDidnât you

life.
hear the part where I said you shouldnât touch me? Hurry up and leaveâ I face the door and begin to storm
âNo! Iâm not letting you go. She stubbornly runs to me, holds onto my hand and gets on her knees with tears streaming down her face. âBabe, Iâm sorry.â
OUL
Her tears donât even have any effect on me as I watch her bawl her eyes out. The more I stay in this room with her, the more Iâll lose my temper and I donât want to, so I pull my hand away.
âWeâre done here, Carmella.â
âYou called me by name?â
âYes, pack your things and leave my house.â
I manage to get away from her this time but as soon as Iâm in the hallway, I run into Vanessa, who looks at me with concern
âHey, are you okay?â
Sheâs become very good at reading my mood lately, but before I can even respond, Carmella grabs my attention when she calls out to me and rushes over. She drops to her knees again, tears still streaming down her face.
You have to give me a chance. She holds onto my wrist with both hands. âDonât do this to me!â
With a sigh of frustration, I say, âI already told you weâre done. I donât know what else you want to hear from me.â
Though Iâm looking at her while sheâs in this state, I donât regret my decision right now,
Pulling my hand away, I begin heading to my bedroom and leave her there, but I stop in my tracks when she turns her
attention to Vanessa.
âThis is all your fault!â she yells as she breathes hard.
âWhat?â Vanessa asks.
I instantly turn around and head back to them. I donât want this to escalate.
âDonât play dumb! You did this! Are you happy now? Iâm going to kill you for this!â
Just as she swiftly raises her hand to slap Vanessa, I grab her wrist.
âDonât you dare lay a hand on Vanessa.â I warn her, then glance at Vanessa as I say, âand you, go to your room or somethingâ
Though Vanessa usually wouldnât listen to such an instruction from me, it seems she understands the situation, so she nods and heads to her room right away.
Even after sheâs out of sight, Carmella twists her face in anger with her gaze fixed on Vanessaâs bedroom door.
âNow youâre defending that bitch after sheâs managed to come between us?â
âWhy canât you see that this is all your fault? You did this to yourself. Youâre the one whoâs been lying to me and deceiving me. Iâll tell you one last time, I want you out of here right now. If you donât pack your things and leave, Iâll have someone else do it. Why couldnât you just be the person I thought you were? Iâll never forgive you for this.â
âBabe?â She bursts into tears even more, bu
more, but Iâm not falling for it
âIf youâre not gone before the next hour, Iâll force you to go.â
As I walk away, she desperately grabs my hand again, but I instantly pull away and she falls to the floor. Even with that, I donât look back. Iâm done.
Itâs now close to 2 a.m. and Frank and I are having & few drinks at his nightclub. Unlike him. Iâm drinking straight from the whiskey bottle like itâs plain water.
âDude, you really need to slow down there,â he says to me.
âYou donât understand the way I feel.â
âActually, I do. Itâs written all over your face. I canât believe you managed to get Carmella to leave the house. I guess she didnât want the humiliation of being thrown out. But doesnât that just draw more attention to the staff?â
âWhat do you mean?â
âThey kind of know that you two were seeing each other. Iâll be honest with you, your decision to bring her over for a few days is one of the dumbest things youâve ever doneâ
âAre you trying to make me feel worse?
Yes.
Asshole
He chuckles, then turns serious. âI never thought Iâd see the day youâd break up with her. You were so into her.â

âThatâs changed.â
âMaybe itâs a little too soon for you to be sure of that. And I know how crazy she is. What if she refuses to accept this and comes crawling back?â
âIâm not taking her back if thatâs what youâre wondering. It doesnât matter what she does. Sheâs gone and Iâm single now.â
He bursts into laughter and chokes a little on his whiskey.
âWhatâs funny?â I ask, completely clueless.
âDid you just say youâre single?â he asks, pointing at my wedding ring.
