Chapter 429

After dinner, Yuhan and Jia Fei went downstairs to send Wu Xia off. They were standing in front of the hotel entrance and were waiting for the driver to bring out Wu Xia’s car.

” Are you not coming with me? I am your mother. Yet you spend more time with Luo Dan than me. That’s not fair.” Wu Xia asked Jia Fei who was busy looking out for the car.

” Nah! I am fine. I better live off with Luo Dan than be the victim of you and your boyfriend’s PDA. I cannot bear to see you and your boyfriend do video calls all the time and become the third wheel between you two.” Jia Fei replied casually without even glancing at her mother who was shooting daggers at her from behind.

She sure got this sassy personality from her. Always mean and straightforward, just like her.

” Your car is here.” Yuhan announced to see the car that was coming out of the underground garage.

” Send me a text when you reach home.” Jia Fei said as she bid goodbye to her mother, who was now already seated in the back seat of the car.

Wu Xia smiled at her daughter and glanced at Yuhan who was instructing the driver to drive slowly at night and give him a call after dropping her off at her place.

While Yuhan was talking with the driver, Wu Xia pulled Jia Fei closer and asked in a low whisper, ” Tell me honestly, something is going on between you two, right? Because there is no way you guys are not a couple already.”

” Mom, what are you talking about? Didn’t I tell you earlier that it’s all nonsense and not true. We’re just friends. Only friends.”

” Hah! As if I will believe you. If you guys were only friends, do you think he would go to such lengths to treat me so well? He was on his edge during the whole dinner as if he was there to be evaluated by his in-laws. Forget about me, did you notice the way he was looking after you?”

” When you spilled your water while drinking, his hands moved faster than me to give you the tissues. When the tissues were closer to you and me, not him.”

” Not only that, when you bend over to pick up your folk that you dropped while eating, he even covered your head from bumping into the edge of the table. He even called the waitress to bring a new set of forks for you. How sweet.” Wu Xia squealed like a little girl upon being reminded of those scenes.

His actions were so natural that it looked like he was doing this for a while now.

Wu Xia pursed her lips to see her daughter’s ignorant attitude and sighed, ” That’s why you’re still single!”

” To be in a relationship, one needs to look around themselves with their eyes wide open and mind actively working. Men don’t do these kinds of things for anyone. Even their manners come out in front of the woman they like. Not everyone.”

” Even Luo Dan is in a relationship with a guy, yet my daughter is still single. I am worried at this rate, you will stay single forever.” Wu Xia shook her head in disappointment.

Jia Fei is the icon of girl crush and could make all the girls squeal over her charms, yet she cannot charm a guy. How unfortunate!

Jia Fei was speechless at her mother’s words. ” What a way to jinx your only daughter’s love life. Are you really my biological mother? I doubt it.”

“MOM!!” Jia Fei shouted in embarrassment, causing Wu Xia to cover her ears in pain.

Wu Xia didn’t say anything and scoffed before tapping on the driver’s seat, gesturing to him to start the car and leave the hotel area in a hurry. If she stayed a bit longer together with Jia Fei, she would definitely strangle her to death.

After her mother left, Jia Fei glanced at Yuhan who was still waving at Wu Xia’s car which had already left the hotel area and was now out of their sight.

Seeing him trying so hard, the words of Wu Xia kept resurfacing in her mind. Does he really treat all the girls so nicely? Or is it because she is not even a girl in his eyes, just like Lin Hui?

” That’s so random.” Yuhan raised his eyes to see her asking that question out of nowhere. “How can I not see it? I not only watched the music video, but also commented under it as well. You didn’t see it?” He asked her.

” Comment? I...didn’t read that one. What does it say?”

” I am not telling you. Find it yourself.” He teased her, causing her to become restless at his mysteriousness.

” Why? Why can’t you tell me already? Do you want me to find your comment out of all those thousands of never ending comments? Huh?”

” That’s up to you. If you want to know, then you have to read all those comments and find mine. Nothing comes so easily, Ms. Jia Fei. You have to work hard to get it.” He said in a teasing manner, causing Jia Fei to pout but rather than feeling upset, she was feeling excited to have another challenge in her way.

” Now stop sulking and come with me. I’ll drop you home. I don’t want to get scolded by your friend again for bringing you home, dead-drunk. So you better leave when you’re walking on your own.”

Jia Fei chuckled to see him getting scared of Luo Dan. He still fears her passive aggressive attitude. That’s why she says that quiet people are the scariest.

” You just wait and watch. I will definitely find your comment. I will not lose this bet so easily.” Jia Fei clamined, but Yuhan ignored her half-drunk, half-conscious words and said, ” Yeah. Sure. Sure.”Although he has no idea if they have such a bet or not. When did they make a bet?
