Chapter 239
The Adorable Twins and Their CEO Daddy
âMaurice, what are you doing here?â Eliana asked, surprised.
Hadnât he just warned her to stay away from Eli? So why would he come here himself?
Eliana couldnât fathom his motives.
âMiss Pierce, have a seat!â Inger gave her a warm greeting.
Only two vacant seats remained. One on Eliâs left and one on Mauriceâs right.
Which should she choose?
This was a dire dilemma.
âEliana, take the seat beside mine.â
Before she could make her choice, Eli stood and pulled out the chair next to his.
She couldnât refuse.
She had no choice but to walk over and sit down beside Eli. Unfortunately for her, her seat was
opposite Maurice.
After all the guests had been seated, Inger stood up with a wineglass in her hand.
âThank you all for coming. I invited you here to clarify the misunderstanding last night. Eli, nowâs the
time to apologize to Miss Pierce.â
Inger swallowed the wine in her glass and gave Eli a gentle shove.
âInger, I already apologized to her, and she forgave me. We even huggedâ¦â
Eli blurted out the words. Eliana kicked him under the table.
âDonât talk nonsense.â
âAre you saying you havenât forgiven me yet?â Eli raised his eyebrows.
âOf course not. The situation has not been resolved, after all. You havenât given it back. Iâll forgive you
as soon as it is returned to me,â Eliana said in a joking manner.
Inger didnât understand what was happening. âEli, did you take something that belongs to Miss Pierce?
You must return it to her quickly.â
Eli didnât hesitate to remove the chain with the ring on it from around his neck.
Maurice recognized his motherâs ring immediately.
So this was the person who had taken it. Maurice was so furious in that moment that he wanted to kill
Eli.
Eli held the ring up and stared at Eliana seriously. âI will return my lucky ring to you, but only if you
agree to one condition.â
These words made Elianaâs stomach sink. She felt that she would agree to anything to get the ring
back.
âWell, what is the condition?â
âI want you to be my full-time stylist.â
The truth was that Eli had already decided that he would return the ring to Eliana. Her words before
had convinced him. But he couldnât pass up the chance to ask for a favor before he returned the ring.
âAbsolutely not!â
Maurice rejected Eliâs request before Eliana could even speak.
âShe canât be your stylist, because she is going to return to work for the Moran Group.â
Mauriceâs voice was firm. He commanded everyoneâs attention.
Eli sneered and pulled the ring closer to himself. âI donât think thatâs true, Mr. Moran. If Eliana wanted to
work for you, why did she leave?â
âYouâre not inside her head. How do you know that she didnât change her mind?â Maurice said coldly.
The competition between Maurice and Eli chilled the room.
Why did they have to argue?
Eliana massaged her forehead. Her heart told her to agree to Eliâs request. Getting the ring so that she
could return it to Preston was more important than anything else.
But when she saw the cold expression on Mauriceâs face, she couldnât say the words.
She knew that if she dared to agree, Maurice wouldnât let her go easily.
Which should she choose? The ring, or her life?
She didnât know. She just wanted to eat dinner like this awkward moment never happened.
She raised her hand and accidentally knocked over the glass in front of her. Wine splashed all over her
clothes.
The icy air was disturbed. Maurice and Eli both looked at her.
Eliana stood. âIâm sorry. All of you just enjoy the meal. Iâll clean up in the bathroom.â
âIâll go with you.â
Inger followed her to the bathroom.
As soon as the two of them left, Maurice dropped his facade.
He suddenly seemed to radiate a murderous aura.
âI want that ring,â Maurice said in a powerful voice. âName your price.â
