“A white lie?”

Corbin was stunned and didn’t understand what Adrian meant.

Imitating Nana’s way of speaking, Adrian explained, “Yes. Nana said, there are two kinds of lies in this

world. There are lies that are bad, but there are also lies called white lies. The lie we told today was a

white lie.”

After hearing Adrian’s words, Corbin couldn’t help looking at the little boy with disbelief.

He glared at Nana and wanted to correct the twins that she had misled.

He cleared his throat and commented, “But a white lie is still a lie. We have to be honest people.”

“Haven’t you ever told a white lie, Mr. Jenkins?”

Aileen blinked her big eyes and looked at Corbin curiously.

Corbin was at a loss for words.

He had told a lot of lies.

Because of this, he was speechless and didn’t know how to address the surprising inquisitiveness of

the twins.

How smart these children were! No wonder they were good friends with Silas. They were all shrewd.

The more Corbin stared at them, the more he felt that they… looked like they were Maurice’s children.

There were many doubts in Corbin’s mind.

He made a mental note to investigate the twins’ real parentage. What if Eliana had cheated him and

Maurice again?

Corbin said cautiously, “Kids, I heard from your mother that your biological father is Jonathan. Is that

true?”

Aileen opened her mouth to answer, but Nana, who was vigilant, stopped her with the look in her eyes.

To keep Corbin from suspecting anything, Nana stood in front of Adrian and Aileen and asked, “Why

are you asking that? That involves Eliana’s private affairs. You’re not on the clock right now. Maybe you

should stop being Maurice’s lackey for a second.”

Corbin was surprised by Nana’s scolding and replied sadly, “Your words are too harsh. What do you

mean by ‘I’m Maurice’s lackey’? I treat Eliana as my friend. The most reasonable answer to my

question is that Mr. Moran is the twins’ father. If that’s true, then everyone will be satisfied with it.”

What Corbin said was indeed reasonable, but Nana didn’t care.

Eliana treasured her two children so much, and in her eyes, they were even more important than her

own life. She would never allow Maurice to snatch her children away, and she would snuff out even the

slightest chance of that happening.

Nana had personally seen that Eliana had almost sacrificed her life when she gave birth to Adrian and

Aileen. After that, she went and did her best to raise them by herself.

No one could ever imagine the amount of love and effort Eliana had exerted for the twins.

Therefore, no matter what, Nana would be on Eliana’s side. She would protect Adrian and Aileen as

much as their mother did.

“Anyway… Don’t ask questions like that anymore. Don’t interfere in whatever happens between Eliana

and Maurice. Do you understand?”

After saying that, Nana turned her head and ignored Corbin.

Noticing Nana’s livid face, Corbin felt confused and wondered why she snapped at him and got angry

with him.

He touched his nose awkwardly.

Noticing that Nana was in a bad mood, Adrian asked, “What are we going to do now, Nana?”

Nana came back to her senses and looked at the twins’ expectant eyes. She suppressed all the messy

emotions in her mind and said firmly, “Let’s go. I will show you around the luxurious manor today.”

“Yeah!”

The twins raised their hands and cheered at the same time.

Without waiting for Corbin’s response, Nana held the twins’ hands and started walking out.

“Hey! Wait for me!”

Nana was just talking to Corbin in a friendly way. Why did she seem annoyed with him now?

Corbin couldn’t read what was on her mind.

He had no choice but to follow her.

He was worried that something bad would happen if he let Nana take care of the children by herself.
