Chapter 504
The Adorable Twins and Their CEO Daddy
The sudden wealth put Eliana under a roller coaster of emotions.
She had been a daughter of a wealthy family in the past, but later she had become very poor. And after
going through a lot, she stumbled upon such a huge amount of money.
However, the price that she had to pay for the money was taking in the fact that her family was ruined.
If she had the chance to choose, then she would gladly live the rest of her life as a pauper if it meant
that her parents could live a long healthy life.
âEliana, you can have an amazing future with this sum of money. Itâs probably the last thing that Ingrid
could do for youâ¦â
Rosamond could not help but sigh.
Eliana clutched the last letter that her mother had left her in her hands as she tried to calm down and
forced a smile. âDonât worry. I will move on with my life, just like my parents wanted me to.â
Rosamond uttered, âI am glad to see that you think that way. I believe that⦠Your parents will be
pleased.â
âI also want to thank you for helping my mother keep her belongings safe,â Eliana said solemnly.
The Pierce family had been through hell that year, and if it had not been for Rosamond, then someone
else would have taken that money before Eliana could get to it.
âAnd thank you for agreeing to help make bracelets.â
âRest assured that I will be very attentive to the matter, and if you have any difficulties in the future, you
can always come to me.â
Rosamond looked at Eliana lovingly, because she reminded her of her best friend. Tears welled up in
her eyes.
She had given up on Ingrid before, but now, she finally had a chance to make up for it by taking care of
her daughter.
Finally, Eliana could retain her design of the bracelet.
Exhausted, she returned to the company, and saw many people walking in and out of the gate. They all
seemed to be going to Mauriceâs office.
What was going on?
Eliana was confused. She walked up to a colleague who was watching the scene of bustle, and asked,
âWhatâs going on?â
The colleague responded, âYou havenât heard? Apparently, there is going to be a new CEO to manage
the company soon!â
âA new CEO?â Eliana had a bad feeling. âWho is it? And what about Mr. Moran?â
âLooks like it is going to be Mr. Moranâs uncle, Gerald! I heard that he is here to help Mr. Moran deal
with the companyâs affairs.â
Another colleague complained, âI donât think so. He must be here to replace Mr. Moran. I am pretty sure
that the company is going to be in deep trouble!â
What?
Was Gerald really taking over the company and replacing Maurice?
Elianaâs eyes widened in shock.
She had only not been there for one morning. How could such a huge thing happen in such a short
time?
Gerald seemed to have gotten a chance to take over the company, and Eliana had no clue of Mauriceâs
situation.
Worries stormed into her heart as she thought of Maurice.
She figured that she had to see him!
By the time she came to her senses, she was already outside Mauriceâs office.
And Corbin was not at his desk.
Eliana knocked on the door gently, but there was no response.
A moment later, she pushed the door open and walked in.
The whole office was a mess with papers and documents scattered all over the floor.
Maurice was sitting in his chair, looking fatigued. His eyes were closed, and he was massaging the
area between his brows, dispirited.
âGet out!â he shouted coldly without even looking.
âMaurice, are you okay?â
He slowly opened his eyes when he heard Elianaâs voice.
A trace of embarrassment flashed through his eyes. âWhy are you here?â
âWell⦠I solved the matter of the braceletâ¦â After a pause, Eliana continued, âAnd I want to know what
happened. Why is everyone saying that Gerald is going to be the companyâs new CEO? Maurice⦠Is it
true?â
The office became as silent as a grave.
Maurice silently walked up to Eliana and hugged her. He then said in a gentle tone, âDonât worry about
me. Your task now is to think about how youâre going to date me.â
Eliana stayed in his warm embrace, believing that the reason he was in such a situation was because
of her.
âIt was arranged by your grandfather, right? Itâs all my fault, right?â
Her voice was ridden with guilt.
Maurice hugged her tightly and said in a low voice, âDonât think too much. This has nothing to do with
you. You donât have such a great influence.â
Eliana became silent as she leaned on his chest with a gloomy look in her eyes, but her heart was
weighing with sorrows.
