Chapter 511
The Adorable Twins and Their CEO Daddy
After Maurice hung up the phone, Corbin walked in from the outside. He left the company with Maurice
and could almost consider himself a jobless vagabond now.
He said, âMr. Moran, I just got the news that the projects you are working on have all been stopped by
the chairman, especially the cooperation with the Stone family.â
Maurice was not surprised anymore. Since Earle made a move, he already guessed this result.
He remarked, âDoes Grandpa think I will give in just because of this?â With a sneer, he added, âGerald
is not capable enough. Just let him do whatever he wants. In a few days, he will have to beg me to
come back.â
âBut the chairman wonât let it go just like that either,â Corbin said worriedly.
But Maurice was not afraid at all. âGrandpa has been old, thinking that itâs still easy to run the entire
Moran Group. He is not aware that the world has changed too fast, and that everything has long been
different from before.â
Corbin felt relieved when he saw that Maurice seemed to have some plans.
He knew that Maurice would not be defeated that easily.
With this thought, a sense of pride suddenly emerged in his heart. âMr. Moran, what do you think we
should do now?â
Maurice sat on the sofa and took a sip of his coffee calmly. âNothing. We donât need to do anything.â
âNothing? Then what will happen?â
Corbin didnât understand what Maurice meant.
âWeâll take a leave.â
After saying this, Maurice closed his eyes and leaned on the sofa lazily. It was as if he was really on
vacation mode.
âCorbin, I remember that you still have a lot of unused paid leaves. Use it now. Go have a rest for a few
days. You will still get paid.â
In the past, Corbin was so busy every day that he never thought he could hear the word ârestâ from
Maurice.
He couldnât help teasing, âMr. Moran, itâs really easy for you to say that. Youâre a Moran, and the
chairman thinks highly of you. So you can take a leave anytime you want. You can still be in your
position when you return. But Iâm not sure if I can have the same result.â
Maurice knew Corbin was joking. He opened his eyes, raised his eyebrows, and said, âDo you think I
canât afford to support you as an assistant?â
Corbin couldnât help smiling, feeling a little touched.
He had been working with Maurice for many years, and he felt that Maurice had already regarded him
as a friend.
Corbin suddenly thought of Eliana. âMr. Moran, what about Eliana? What are you going to tell her?â
Maurice was silent for a moment. Then he said in a deep voice, âDonât tell her anything for the time
being.â
âButâ¦â
Corbin was a little worried. He wanted to say something, but Maurice interrupted, âI have my reasons.â
Maurice couldnât help thinking of Elianaâs phone call last night.
After going through so much, he could finally have a real date with her. He didnât want any trouble at
this time.
It was hard enough to deal with Earle. He only hoped Eliana could live well now.
So he decided to hide everything from her for the time being.
Today, Eliana specially took a leave. She dressed up beautifully, went to the amusement park early,
and waited for Maurice at the gate.
There were so many people, but Maurice still saw Eliana among the crowd at a glance.
Today, she was wearing a pinkish-purple chiffon dress with a knitted coat over it. She looked extremely
charming. No one would think that this beautiful young woman was already a mother of two children.
âYouâre here.â
Eliana ran towards Maurice with a flushed face. He wondered if it was because of the sun.
His eyes unconsciously softened as he said, âWhy did you choose the amusement park for our date?â
âBecause this amusement park was my favorite place when I was a child. My parents often took me
here to play. Later, my father even told me that he would build a better amusement park than this one
in the Pierce Groupâs own theme park. Although it didnât come true later, I still like it here the most.â
While she talked about her family, Elianaâs eyes seemed to be shining.
This light made Maurice indulge in it involuntarily. He felt as happy as when he went to the amusement
park with his parents and sister when he was a child.
