Chapter 647
The Adorable Twins and Their CEO Daddy
It was as if the next few days were a world of their own. Eliana and Maurice spent their hours in a
youthful kind of loveâone that locked them away from anything and anyone but each other. They
stayed together all day long, never leaving each otherâs side.
The time passed like this until Corbin showed up at the hospital armed with a candid speech.
The bottom line was that Maurice was still the CEO of the Moran Group, and he couldnât just ignore his
position in favor of a relationship. The dream had been drawn out for too long. It was time to go back to
reality.
Corbin had held off as long as he could, and he was at the end of his tether. The senior directors had
been hounding him with questions at every opportunity, driving him further and further up the wall.
Maurice had no reaction to his subordinateâs dilemma, but Eliana took pity on the poor man.
âYou should go back now. Iâm fine. The company needs you.â
Mauriceâs unwillingness was evident, but he knew that Corbin was right. He had taken a long absence
from work, and it was time to deal with his responsibilities to the company.
Taking Elianaâs hand, he gave her gentle reminders.
âIf you feel any pain, or if thereâs any problem, call me. Can you promise me that?â
Eliana gave him a soft smile. âOkay. Since when were you worrier?â
Corbin stood aside and watched Maurice repeat his worried but soft nagging, holding Elianaâs hand as
if he didnât want to let go.
Corbin inwardly sighed. Love was a force to reckon with. He had never thought that his boss who
thought of nothing but his job 24/7 was capable of such a tender expression.
Nana came as soon as Maurice and Corbin left.
âHoney, I canât help but worry about you these days!â
She hugged Eliana as soon as she arrived.
âDonât worry, Nana. Iâm alright,â Eliana said, patting her friend on the back.
Nana stepped back and looked at Eliana for a long time, her eyes moving all over her figure. Only
when she was fully convinced that Eliana was fine did she let out a sigh of relief.
The two talked for a long time about a lot of things, and then Eliana asked about the children.
âNana, youâve been taking care of the kids while Iâm not there. Thank you!â
âThey have been staying with Mrs. Moran during the past few days.â Nana gave Elianaâs hand a gentle
pat. âDonât worry. Even if the Moran family hasnât said it out loud, I know that they have already
accepted the situation. When you marry Maurice, you will be a part of the family.â
Elianaâs heart warmed at her words.
It seems that the children were settling just fine.
The thought sent a wave of deep longing to her. She wanted to go home as soon as possible.
âI want to get out of the hospital already. I havenât seen the kids for days and I miss them so much.â
âYou want to leave now? Shouldnât you get checked again first?â Nana asked in surprise.
Eliana smiled. âIâm fine. Help me pack up.â
Maurice wasnât here anymore, and Eliana didnât want to stay by herself in the ward.
Nana was helping Eliana collect her things when an unexpected accident happened.
âEliana, you are bleeding!â
Nanaâs face paled in horror.
âBleeding?â
Elianaâs hand instinctively lifted to her nose.
There, on her hand, was a wet crimson spot.
âThis isâ¦â
Before she could finish her words, a surge of dizziness took over her, and she fell to the floor.
âEliana! Whatâs wrong? Donât scare me like this!â
Nanaâs screams echoed through the room as she bent down to help Eliana up.
At the sound of her wails, a female nurse rushed inside the room.
Seeing that Eliana had fainted, she immediately came over and checked her condition.
Nana shouted, âGo and call the doctor!â
Strangely, the nurse made no motion to leave. She looked at Nana and gave a cryptic answer.
âItâs useless. None of the doctors here can cure her.â
âWhat do you mean?â Nana asked in confusion.
The nurse ignored her question and turned to look at Eliana. âMiss Pierce, I think you know what I
mean. You should know who to find at this time,â she said meaningfully.
Eliana was lying weakly in Nanaâs arms, sweating profusely as her head felt like it was being split open.
She raised her head slowly and stared at the strange nurse. Gritting her teeth, she forced out her
words. âWho sent you here?â
âMr. Bowman.â The nurse told her the truth. âHe asked me to deliver a message. He is the only one
who can cure your disease.â
