Eventually, Wyatt gathered enough courage to walk into the Todd family’s house.

“Mr. Todd, you’re finally back!”

The moment the elderly butler saw Wyatt, his eyes lit up and welled up with tears, and he immediately

approached the latter.

Feeling a little embarrassed, Wyatt answered, “Erick, do you know where my mother is?”

The butler, Erick Vance, wiped his tears away and said, “She’s upstairs, Mr. Todd! You should go and

see her. It saddens me to say this, but her health is dwindling.”

Wyatt’s heart sank, but he still thought that this might be another trick.

Once he was upstairs, he knocked on the door of Dora’s room. “Mom, it’s me.”

Moments later, he heard a voice from inside say, “Come in.”

Wyatt walked in, visibly uneasy.
