A Life Debt Repaid By Cheng Xiaocheng Chapter 101
A Life Debt Repaid
Noelâs denial was suspiciously specific, and even she started to panic after she said it.
The journalists were puzzled by her words as well.
But since she was not the main character here, they did not pay her much attention, instead asking Cordy with anticipation, âDo you know who this person is, Ms. Sachs?â
âWho would frame you in secret?â
âWhy would she do it? Because she could not bear to see you doing well?â
Cordy was almost scarily calm in contrast to their eagerness, and she replied, âThe person who is with Kyle now⦠No, the person who already hooked up with Kyle, even while he and I were in a relationship, is the person youâre looking for.â
The journalists were even more excited right then.
In other words, Cordy was saying that Kyle had cheated on her, instead of it being the other way around!
What a dramatic turn of events!
âSis, you shouldnât lie in front of the press. I know you just want to distract them and get Starstream out of this crisis, but Kyle has always been good to you! Trying to drag him with you to your grave is unfair to Jessop Corp!â Noel exclaimed righteously.
Noelâs words gave the journalists a hunch right then.
After all, it was very likely that Cordy was trying to scapegoat Noel just to clear her own name.
âI sympathize with your situation, Ms. Sachs, and I wish what you say is true. However, just your words alone arenât going to convince anyone,â one of the journalists shouted loudly just then.
Noel smiled every so subtly.
Cordy was dreaming if she thought she could turn the tables against them!
âMs. Noel, you should know very well how the relationship between Kyle Jessop and your sister has been. Who between them was at fault?â another journalist suddenly asked Noel, trying to get confirmation from her as well.
Since she was called by name, Noel quickly answered, âTheyâve been good together, and itâs always been that way. My sister loved Kyle, and Kyle pampered her⦠I donât know the specific reason why they break up, but Iâm convinced itâs neither of their faults. Moreover, the person who took those photos must have deliberately framed it that wayâmy sister would never do anything unkind to Kyle.â
While she appeared to be defending Cordy, she was just saying in another way that Cordy was lying because Kyle never cheated on her.
But even though she was shoving Cordy to another disadvantageous position again, Cordy chuckled.
Noel would never give up until she buried CordyâCordy certainly understood after Noel hurt her so many times.
Cordy gave Vince a look, and catching his cue, he lowered the projector screen and turned off the lights of the photo.
Soon, multiple photos appeared on screenâ¦
Photos of Noel and Kyle being together!
In the first photo, those two were celebrating Kyleâs birthday, their cheeks glued to each othersâ
affectionately, over a cake with the number â26â.
Cordy actually felt guilty about that night because she was once again out to court sponsors, only to go straight home since she got drunk. Though she had broken her promise to Kyle to celebrate his birthday together, he assured her that it was fine⦠And she thought that it was him being understanding toward her.
It was laughable now that she remembered it.
âNâNo! Thatâs not it!â Noel screamed in the conference room.
She was terrified with every fiber of her being when she saw the photoâhow did Cordy get her hands on something so private?!
âPlease donât misunderstand,â Noel pleaded. âMy sister wasnât there for Kyleâs birthday. Thatâs why I was there to celebrate with him in her stead⦠It wasnât just the two of us. There were many others!â
Cordy sneered.
It was certainly thanks to the âmany othersâ that she got her hands on that photo.
To think she never once suspected Kyle of duplicity!
Naturally, no one was swayed by Noelâs agitation to speak up either.
Everyoneâs eyes were drawn to the screen as the second photo appeared on screen.
This time, Noel and Kyle were swimming at a famous private club in North City, with Noel in a risque bikini, pressing every inch of her skin against Kyle.
