Chapter 1472
A Life Debt Repaid
Lindsay was absolutely furious. âWhy did I call you? Donât you have any empathy, Sam?! Your brother is still in the ICU!â
âAnd what do you think I should do?!â Sam bellowed. âShall I watch him 24/7, or would you have preferred me to be the one in the accident?! In the end, I mean nothing ever since I was a child, and thereâs no problem even if I get killed!â
Samâs sudden outburst was so loud that it startled Quinn.
âSamâ¦â she called out to him tentatively.
Sam pretended not to hear it.
At the same time, Lindsay turned silent on the other end and started sobbing after a long while.
âYouâre killing me, Samâ¦â
âNot me. You-all of you-have been killing me from the very start!â
And with that, Sam flung his phone on the floor so loudly Quinn was left stunned silent. He then got out of bed and stormed out of the room.
He even slammed the door shut loudly in his wake, but Quinn needed a long while before she came to her senses. She had never seen him that furious despite having a chip on his shoulder even as a child.
She started to follow him when her phone rang.
Hesitating for a moment, she eventually turned to answer it.
âYes, Mr. Saunders?â
âIs Sam with you?â Marvin asked.
âHe was, but he left.â
âIs he alright?â
âI donât know.â Quinn shook her head and quickly asked,â Howâs Mrs. Saunders?â
âSheâs crying a lot,â Marvin said exasperatedly. âShe really didnât mean to snap at Sam, but she just let it slip because of her grief.â
âI know.â Quinn was perfectly aware, but it was all the more reason Sam was disappointed.
âYou should come to the hospital,â Marvin said bluntly just then.
âBut Iâd rather look for Sam. He broke his phone and leftâ¦â
âDonât worry, heâll be fineâ Marvin said.
âWhy do all of you always think heâll be fine?!â Quinn snapped right then, feeling indignant for Samâs sake. âSure, heâs not as impressive as Ryan, but he has a heart too. All everyone ever cares about is Ryan. Do you really think Sam doesnât get hurt?â
Marvin sighed. âWe were wrong in the past, but this is a serious moment and we canât spare him any attention. The priority is to help Ryan get through this.â
Quinn had no cause to argue, since Marvin was right-they had to take care of Ryan before anyone else now.
âYou should come, Quinn. Ryan wants to see you,â Marvin said, finally getting to the point.
When Quinn was hesitant, Marvinâs voice turned quiet.â Please, Iâm begging you. Heâs really in bad shape-help us talk to him.â
âAlright.â Quinn gave in, quickly changing and getting a cab. On her way to the hospital, she made a phone call. âCordy.â
