A Life Debt Repaid By Cheng Xiaocheng Chapter 427
A Life Debt Repaid
But even as Cordy kept shoving John off, she said, âDonât worry, that doesnât apply to me.â
John kept holding on tightly to her, so she made herself very clear. âYou just might be able to do it, though.â
John paused then, as something seemed to hit him right then.
He eased his hold on Cordy and stared at her for a while.
âItâs exactly what you think,â she told him and slithered out of his arms, swiftly walking up to Patrick.
The man was writhing in utter agony, though she almost saw him bleeding out of every orifice.
Cordy thought she was imagining it since it had not been that long, but as she put her hand on Patrickâs nostrils, she felt the vicious sensation of blood.
And from up close, she saw his eyes staring blankly into thin air while he bled out from his ears tooâ¦
How heavily did the Stuarts drug him? Were they trying to kill him?!
However, it made sense that the Stuarts had a backup measure in case they failed to kill them in the car crash. If they could at least made sure that she and Patrick had sexual relations, they would deny John anything to fall back on.
They were certainly as savage as they were cunning!
âWhatâs wrong, Mr. Stuart?â The chauffeur was horrified by Patrickâs condition too.
He thought they had just managed to cheat death, only for Patrick to end up worse than that!
Did the crash rupture internal organs?
While the chauffeur was at a loss, John confirmed Partrickâs condition and said flatly, âHeâs going to die here if he isnât satiated.â
âWhere are his people? Whatâs taking so long?â Cordy asked just then.
However, help might not even know where they were at the moment, since Patrickâs phone must have been crushed in the car crash.
Turning toward John then, she asked, âWell, what should we do now?â
There was no way they could let Patrick die here after they went through so much to save him!
John suddenly frowned. âWhatâs that look for?â
He would rather die than do it with Patrick!
Cordy pursed her lips in turn, but she was definitely thinking that for a split second.
Fortunatelyâ¦
She turned toward the chauffeur, who appeared flustered and helpless.
âYou would do anything for Patrick, right?â she asked.
âOf course. I would willingly lay down my life for him,â the chauffeur said bluntly.
Patrick certainly kept only loyal people around himself.
âWell, I donât need you to do that, but sacrifices must be made,â Cordy said and leaned in to whisper into the chauffeurâs ear.
His eyes widened in disbelief at Cordy, but she shrugged and added very clearly, âItâs either that, or Patrick probably wonât survive the night. I donât even have any idea when help would arrive.â
The chauffeur remained hesitant, but Cordy did not wait for him to say yes. âWeâre going now. The rest is up to you.â
When it came to such cases, one had to take it while the other dished it out.
At the same time, Cordy rose to her feet, prepared to leave.
However, just as she got up, she wobbled and started to fall.
She was spent, having pushed herself way past her limit.
If she had not shown composure and kept panicking throughout the chaos earlier, she would have long since blacked out.
John reacted quick enough to catch her in his arms, and she did not struggle this time.
As she leaned over his chest, she felt as if he was covered in blood, but it might also just be his warmth.
John in turn scooped her up in his arms, carrying her as he strode away and left, leaving Patrick with his chauffeur.
Cordy did not pass out, however, but she was simply exhausted and very sleepy.
She would have rather walked on her ownâ¦
