A Life Debt Repaid By Cheng Xiaocheng Chapter 478
A Life Debt Repaid
It was a slight motion, but Cordy woke the man beside her.
To be precise, John was already up and was waiting for her to wake up.
âHungry?â John asked her, his attractive voice clearly buoyed.
Right now, he was feeling very energetic and refreshed.
On the other hand, Gordyâs whole body felt limp and she thought she could die at that very moment.
âWhat time is it?â Cordy asked.
âTen oâclock,â John replied.
âThat late?â she gasped.
âWhat do you think?â John chuckled, his glee barely hidden from his voice.
âWhereâs Dicky?â
âHe said heâs old enough to go to bed on his own, and he just did, like the good boy he is,â John replied, before adding, âHe also maintains that heâd be an exemplary brother.â
Cordy shot him a look, before struggling to get up.
As John moved to help her up, the blanket slipped off, revealing all the hickeys and signs of fearsome lovemaking.
Cordy turned towards him again, who asked a little awkwardly, âGetting out of bed?â
âYeah.â
âIâll get your clothes.â
âThank you.â
John lifted the blanket and got out of bed, but he was naked even though he had already woken up for some time.
As such, Cordy had to avert his eyes.
In response, he grinned bewitchingly at her. âYouâve already seen it all, Miss Sachs.â
Cordy ignored him, so he continued, â1 mean, doing it in broad daylight-â
âCould you stop?â She couldnât help telling him off.
John left, still grinning.
Cordy watched him-he seemed to project bliss even from the back, and she in turn scowled.
After they both got dressed and stepped outside the room, the servants had already prepared dinner for them.
They ate in silence until Cordy suddenly said, âI want to go back to North City.â
Johnâs hand paused.
So she had offered her body just so she could leave?!
âItâs not that dangerous,â Cordy said seriously, putting down her fork and knife. âIâd be safe as long as you stay with Jessica.â
âNo, I wonât stay with her.â
âYou should marry her,â Cordy said very clearly.
Johnâs fingers clenched on his knife and fork, and he asked icily, âSo thatâs what you wanted to say after all that?â
âYou can call that settling a debt.â
âReally?â John chuckled at her cruelty, despite himself.
He thought they loved each other after today, but it turned out to be singlesided.
He knew he shouldnât have succumbed to her seduction, or things would end badly!
âJust think of it as ending the way it started,â Cordy said, staring at him solemnly.
âDonât lie to yourself, Cordy!â John snapped, repressing his rage. âYouâre not that apathetic towards me, or you wouldnât have been able to indulge yourself⦠You wouldnât be able to relish it like you did today!â
