A Life Debt Repaid By Cheng Xiaocheng Chapter 482
A Life Debt Repaid
Anyone who got too close would feel intimidated by the men in blackâs presence, but Cordy walked up to them nonetheless.
One of them spoke into the microphone attached to his lapels, and waited until the person inside gave her approval before opening the door for Cordy.
The interior of the WIP room was naturally different from the other rooms, and the extravagance of the decorations inside would leave everyoneâs eyes lighting up.
Naturally, Cordy was in no mood to admire the elegance. She limped with difficulty up to the coffee tableâ¦where Jessica sat, elegantly taking a sip of tea.
There were four bodyguards in the room with her, and two were standing right behind her.
It was obvious that she was wary of Cordy.
Nonetheless, there was a flash of surprise in her eyes when she saw that Cordy was alone, though she hid it well by habit.
âSit,â she beckoned.
Cordy didnât refuse, and sat opposite her.
âWhat would you like to drink, Miss Sachs?â
âBlue Mountain.â
After Cordy gave her order, Jessica put down her glass and said evenly,â Iâm surprised youâd come to me alone. Iâm quite surprised.â
It was certainly the truthâshe was stunned when she received Cordyâs message, asking to meet.
After all, Cordy was smart and would know Jessica had been up to behind the scenes.
And yet, after Jessicaâs multiple attempts to get Cordy killed, why was Cordy so bold to request a private meeting?
Jessica wondered if it was some ploy, but she couldnât resist seeing what Cordy was up to. So, she agreed to it.
That said, she seemed to have overprepared with all the bodyguards. She wondered if she was making a mountain out of an anthill.
Naturally, she had gone through a lot as a child of the Stuarts and would never let that show.
âTo what do I owe the pleasure?â she asked curtly, not one to drag her feet.
âIâve come to make things clear about myself and John.â
Jessica scowled ever so slightly-so Cordy came to brag.
After all, those who were aware certainly knew that John loved Cordy and felt nothing towards Jessica.
âWhat are you trying to say?â she asked nonetheless.
âIâve cut all ties with John,â Cordy said bluntly.
Jessicaâs heart skipped a beat, but she dared not celebrate just yet.
Not only was she worried that Cordy would trick her, but her many attempts to eliminate Cordy never worked.
âSo please donât waste your time on me,â Cordy said plainly.
Jessica merely sneered.
So all Cordy wanted was for her life to be spared?
How laughable-was Jessica so easily deceived? That she would believe Cordyâs words alone?
It was as if Cordy thought Jessica lived her life frivolously until now!
Cordy could see the contempt in Jessicaâs contempt, however, and merely whipped out her phone and passed it to Jessica.
Jessica frowned, annoyed that Cordy was too calm and composed.
It always felt like Cordy would never be affected, no matter the situation she was in.
Before meeting Cordy, Jessica was convinced that there a woman more beautiful than her wouldnât be smart, and a woman smarter than her couldnât possibly be beautiful.
Even so, she started doubting that belief for the first time after meeting Cordy.
