Chapter 613
A Life Debt Repaid
Cordy sighed grumpily. âHe refused to.â
âThen, how about I change seats with you?â Patrick suggested.
Cordy blinked.
Why did she not think of that?!
Thank goodness Patrick was sharp!
âOkay.â Cordy agreed to it right then.
Patrick eagerly got up and went straight to Cordyâs seat.
When Lucas turned to see Patrrick sitting down beside him, his expression clearly darkened.
Patrick was suddenly in a good mood, since he had been quite annoyed by Lucasâ conceited bearing, but he clearly won this round.
Cordy was in a good mood as well. Still, she never did expect to have her mood so heavily affected by such a trivial man.
The plane soon took flight toward North City.
While Lucas was reading a local paper and appearing quite serious about it, Patrick asked, âCan you read Zidonian?â
Lucas ignored him, but Patrick ignored his indifference and pressed, âYou might be able to understand and speak it, but it doesnât make you literate.â
âMy father is from the capital,â Lucas growled impatiently.
âOh, mixed ancestry.â Patrick nodded, muttering, âNot surprising that youâre better looking than the average person.â
Lucas did not respond to Patrickâs acknowledgement of his good looks, however, since he was used to bewitching both men and women with his good looks.
âWait, is that why you act so proud, like youâre above the rest?â Patrick asked then.
Lucas pursed his lips, clearly at the limits of his patience.
âOh, and donât think your good looks are enough to leave everyone smitten, â Patrick added. âCordy wonât fall for you, so donât try to hit on her.â
âIâm not interested in Cordy,â Lucas replied icily, clearly grouchy.
âNo? Then whatâs with that scowl when I came to sit here instead?â Patrick asked, exposing Lucas right then. âWeâre both men, and I could at least see through your intentions-youâre definitely aiming for her.â
âDo you think Iâm like you?!â Lucas scoffed. âLiking strays you pick up off the street?!â
âDid you just call Cordy a stray?! Are you that blind?! Sheâs perfect!â Patrick retorted with righteous indignation.
âSheâs really not,â Lucas said indifferently, glancing sideways at Cordy to the back as he spoke.
She was already reclined against her chair and asleep.
Lucas then remembered how she nuzzled against his chest last nightâ¦
âYouâre just being sour grapes!â Patrick snapped, very much skeptical that Lucas was uninterested in Cordy.
Patrick was convinced that any man would develop feelings for Cordy- even he, a man who liked men, was eventually left on his knees before her magnificence, let alone a normal man.
âIâm not interested in skanks,â Lucas retorted sternly.
âSkanks? Did you just call Cordy a skank?! Are you really insulting her just because you canât have her?!â Lucas snapped sternly.
âWhatever, love-for-brains.â
âYou insulted her and now me?! It hurts you to see others doing well, huh?!â Patrick demanded.
Lucas was in turn fuming.
He growled coolly, âShut up! Breathe another word, and Iâm suing you!â âIâm not worried if itâs your lawsuit.â âWhatâ¦!â Lucas glared icily at Patrick.
