Chapter 672
A Life Debt Repaid
âItâs nothing,â Sean assured Dicky. âIâm fine on my own. Just donât go anywhere.â
âOkay.â
Sean strode past Lucas as he headed towards Cordy, while Lucas headed towards Dicky.
âYou like these?â Lucas asked Dicky.
Dicky turned, and was startled when he saw Lucas.
The next second, he was delighted and quickly asked, âDad-1 mean, Lucas, did you come to see us?â
âNo. Sorry to disappoint you.â Lucas never allowed anyone to fantasize.
âWhat are you doing here, then?â
âJust came to visit.â
âYou like this stuff?â
âMore or less,â Lucas said begrudgingly.
More or less?
Dicky doubted that-adults wouldnât just âvisitâ a place like this.
But it was fine, since his daddy was such a coward. He should be considerate to his daddyâs dignity and not expose him.
âBy the way, did you do the parental test?â Lucas asked casually.
It wasnât as if he cared, but he had the right to know since he was someone involved.
âOh.â
âAnd?â
âThere was an issue with the sample,â Dicky explained quickly.
However, Lucas quickly understood. âSo, the answer is no?â
âBut youâre my daddy,â Dicky was still determined-even if his mommy refused to acknowledge daddy and hated him a little now, this man was daddy and that would never change.
âThe parental test wouldnât be wrong, not with how advanced technology had progressed,â Lucas said feebly. âWhatever. You take your time and enjoy yourself.â
But just as he was about to leave, Dicky stopped him. âLucas.â
Lucas stopped and turned to Dicky. The little boy blushed as he asked, âDo you really have a girlfriend now?â
âBeautiful, isnât she?â Lucas bragged.
âNot at all!â Dicky retorted seriously.
Lucas wasnât upset. Why waste his breath with a child? â
Moreover⦠Though Cordy was more beautiful in appearance alone, liking a person didnât depend entirely on the face-it was the feelings between them.
âWhatever reason you have, be it amnesia or some compelling reason, youâll regret getting a girlfriend,â
Dicky said determinedly.
Lucas didnât want to argue.
Even if the boy didnât take after Cordy visually, he was as stubborn as a mule-just like her.
âDicky,â Sean called out to Dicky from behind. Dicky hurried over, dumping Lucas right then and showing considerable spite.
Lucas watched as the boy left, feeling a disappointment he could not quite describe.
âLucas!â
His girlfriend called out to him from behind, and he turned to her as she asked, âWere you speaking with that boy?â
âYeah. About nothing, really.â
âHeâs going to be very handsome when he grows up,â his girlfriend said earnestly.
âYeah,â Lucas replied.
âOh? Is someone as proud as you admitting that there might be someone whoâs better looking?â
As the two flirted in the planetarium, Cordy watched their public display of affection.
