Chapter 949
A Life Debt Repaid
âSit over there. Just wait for me,â John said quietly.
âI want to be with you.â Cordy hugged him tighter.
âYouâre going to affect my cooking.â
Cordy was struck speechless.
He was so unromantic.
âBe good.â
Cordy let go of him and walked to another side unhappily.
She exhausted herself before she sat on the high chair again.
When she looked at John, she found that he seemed to be controlling himself. He even gasped.
So, he did not find her annoying.
He would⦠lose control too.
It was very quiet.
Cordy just watched him quietly as he cooked their lunch.
John was very quiet too.
He silently and attentively made lunch for her.
During lunch, they sat before the dining table.
As Cordy took a bite of the fish he made, a familiar taste spread around in her mouth and her eyes abruptly turned red in that instant.
It still tasted the same.
But why could they not return to how they were?
âDonât you like it?â John noticed her emotion, so he asked lightly.
âNo.â Cordy held back her tears.
âEat more.â John served her some food. âItâs bad if youâre too slim.â
âAre you criticizing me?â Cordy looked at him.
âNo, Iâm not.â
âDo you feel uncomfortable while hugging me? Iâm so slim that you feel hurt bumping into my bones.â
âNo, I donât.â
âDonât all men like curvy women? Itâs comfortable hugging that kind of womanâ¦â
âI said I donât.â John became slightly impatient.
âLook! Youâre angry out of shame.â Cordy sounded certain.
âCordy.â John looked at her. He was struck speechless.
She raised her brows, but she was fearless.
âYouâre very good this way,â John stated.
While talking, he seemed to be gnashing his teeth.
She could very easily stimulate him.
At first, he should be cold and indifferent.
However, he could not help being stimulated.
âWhatâs good about me?â Cordy questioned him.
Her gaze was full of disbelief.
âItâs all great.â
âWhat a hypocrite!â Cordy commented.
âYouâre not bony but curvy in your way,â John said with some self-restraint.
âDid you touch my body last night?â Cordy smiled.
John lowered his head.
When she looked closely, she found that his ears had turned red.
âJohn, arenât you afraid of having regrets?â Cordy asked him very seriously.
His body reaction was clearer than hers, so she knew his needs very well.
John pursed his lips tightly and said slowly, âLives are full of many regrets. If that regret can make each other better, that regret is a kind of wonderful thing too.â
âNo, itâll always be a regret. It wonât become a wonderful thing.â Cordy sounded certain.
John chose to be silent, and both of them fell silent.
After lunch, Cordy sat on the sofa to watch TV.
John also sat at the side.
He did not watch entertainment shows, so he took out his phone and read some news.
âZoe won first place.â Cordy was watching the rerun of the final competition of Actors on Set.
John answered, âHmm.â
âZoe and Jay are a couple now.â
âYes, I saw the news,â John uttered calmly.
She could not tell his emotions.
âJay has been in love with Zoe all this while, right?â Cordy asked, but it seemed like she was muttering to herself.
John did not respond.
Cordy would never get his reply either.
She leaned against the sofa to watch the variety show.
