as she coldly stated the fact, though she felt a pang of regret.

“You’re not?” Night Fox’s hand halted suddenly in front of her chest. “Hmph,

you should consider yourself lucky!”

Quell looked at him with eyes full of disdain. “Compared to the two leaders

who came after you, you’re nothing!”

“What?” The usually arrogant Night Fox finally showed a flash of anger in his

eyes as he roared, “Who is the current leader of the Black Wolf Team? Bring

him here, and I’ll kill him right in front of you!”

Ptui! Aqua chimed in defiantly, “You twisted freak! If either Mr. Emmanuel or

Mr. Xarri were here, you’d already be a dead man!”

“What did you say?!” Night Fox’s gaze turned sinister, his eyes like poison darts

aimed at Aqua.

But she wasn’t at all afraid. She gritted her teeth as she said, “Mr. Emmanuel

is leading the Alliance against the Queen. He doesn’t even see you as a

threat!”

“Shut your damn mouth!” Enraged, Night Fox suddenly hurled a hidden

weapon at Aqua, intending to blow her head off.

Everyone was shocked. Solana and Quell couldn’t bear to witness Aqua’s

impending death and turned away. But Aqua stood tall, unafraid, staring

death in the face. Like the others, she had long been prepared to sacrifice her

life for this battle. After witnessing the heroic death of her comrades, death

no longer frightened her.

At the last second, a large hand caught the weapon in mid–air.

The man who saved Aqua examined the hidden weapon–it was a shell

casing. He smiled slightly, realizing from this detail that the former Black Wolf

Team leader truly enjoyed showing off. This guy wanted everyone to know

“S–sir! Is it really… really you?!” Aqua trembled as she looked at the man who

saved her. The tears she held back even in the face of death now flowed

freely.

Hearing her call him “sir,” Quell and Solana were both startled and quickly

turned their gazes, wondering if Emmanuel had come from the central region

to aid the north. But when they saw the man, they were both stunned.

Especially Quell, whose usually cold eyes turned red in an instant.

“I’m sorry, Quell! I’m late, and you’ve suffered because of it!” The man’s eyes

darkened with anger. Seeing his sister humiliated in public ignited a fiery rage

within him, yet he maintained the composure of a true leader.

Quell’s lips quivered; she couldn’t find the words to speak.

Instead, it was Vachon, lying on the ground severely injured, who suddenly

roared as if he had come back to life, “Mr. Xarri! You’re finally back! Mr. Xarri!”

with excitement.

Quell and all of us!” Aqua angrily pointed at Night Fox, her eyes filled with

anticipation.

Xarri nodded and began to walk slowly toward Night Fox.
