Chapter 1941 Cornered
Chapter 1941
Despite Amethystâs mysterious technique, Gwain dodged the attack in time.
It gave Aora the opportunity to get closer to him and snatch the Dragon
Tome from his pocket.
âLetâs go!â After taking the Dragon Tome, Aora grinned at Gwain. He waved his
hand at his companions, and the four envoys immediately disappeared into
the jungle.
âD*mn it! Godd*mnit!â
âWe need to go after them! They arenât going anywhere!â
Hank and Wyatt huffed. Theyâre unforgivable! How dare they steal the
scripture with such a dirty trick? Mr. Gwain worked so hard to obtain it!
âItâs fine. No need to go after them.â Gwain stopped them.
âWhy?â Hank turned around in confusion âMr. Gwain, are you afraid of them?

âTheyâre just Teddyâs lap dogs. I canât care less about them.â Gwain
harrumphed. His expression was cold and arrogant, his tone disdainful. âThe
scripture is fake. They can bring it back to Teddy and let him blow himself up.â
âFake?â Hank and Wyatt were
booked.
Gwain ignored them and walked over to the injured Summerton siblings. He
looked down at them and coldly interrogated, âAre you from the Summerton
family?â
The two didnât bother to answer him. Isnât it obvious? We just saw each other
when we climbed the mountain.
Gwain grabbed Julianâs collar to hoist him up and glowered at him. âTell me.
Did the hidden Summerton family give you the real Dragon Tome?â
âThatâs right!â Julian chuckled, his eyes showed no sign of fear.

To him, Gwain was just like any other man. He couldnât beat any of them
anyway.

âWhereâs the scripture?â Gwainâs eyes were filled with killing intent as he tried
to intimidate Julian.
He suspected the hidden Summerton family must have given the real
Dragon Tome to another member of the Summerton family while he
received the fake one.
He was furious. Those sly b*stards! Theyâre messing with us!
âThe four hunting dogs just now took it. What? They stole your book, and now
youâre taking it out on us?â Julian mocked.
Roselynnâs safety is all that matters. He didnât dream about staying alive.
Gwain slapped him hard. The momentum knocked him to the ground and
caused blood to drip from the corner of his mouth.
âYou! Answer me!â he threatened, pointing at the equally injured Ashton.

Ashton couldnât help but shake her head. âJulian had told you everything.
What else do you expect me to tell you? That youâre incompetent? That even
Teddyâs dogs can bully you?â
Gwainâs thin lips trembled in anger before he kicked Julian hard. His face was
devoid of emotions. âSay that to me again, and Iâll kill your brother!â
The threat worked like a charm.
Although Ashton wasnât afraid of death, she couldnât watch Julian being killed.
Hence, she gritted her teeth and glared at Gwain.
âHave you read the scripture?â
âNo,â she replied with hatred.
Gwain tilted his head and signaled Hank. The latter immediately kicked Julian
hard again.
Julian felt like his internal organs had shifted. The pain was indescribable.

âI only read it briefly. I donât remember much,â she admitted through gritted
teeth.
âThen, you should recite what you remember to me,â Gwain ordered.
Worried that Gwain would torture Julian more, she recited a few insignificant
sentences.
To her surprise, her recitation stunned Gwain, who muttered to himself, âI was
right. Itâs different from the scripture we received.â
âMr. Gwain, I doubt she only remembers two sentences. Should we press her
further?â Hank whispered a suggestion, which left Wyatt cringed out.
He wasnât the only person who admired Gwainâs talent. Gwain also had a
reputation and was respected by many. Still, pressuring a weak woman
would harm Gwainâs image.
However, Gwain didnât see it that way. He dreamed of becoming the top
martial artist in the world. Since there were no outsiders around, he wasnât

worried about word getting out.
So, he signaled Hank again. Hank immediately gave Julian a few kicks.
âFine! Iâll recite what I remember! If you touch Julian again, Iâd rather die than
tell you!â At this point, Ashton had no choice but to comply.
