“It’s moving!”

“Mr. Hale, look! That giant stone is being pushed!”

“As long as both boulders obstruct the dam, the engineering team can begin

fortifying it! All the gear onshore is already in place and prepared!”

Ethan’s assistant and the others excitedly shouted in his ear.

Ethan felt just as exhilarated–and even more anxious!

One boulder alone wouldn’t suffice; they needed both to seal the breach so

the engineering team could assist.

“Come on! You guys can do it!”

Ethan led the cheers, even though he knew Emmanuel and Santiago

underwater probably couldn’t hear them.

“Push harder!”

“Let’s go!”

“Keep going!”

Even if one voice couldn’t reach them, the combined cheers of hundreds, if

not thousands, would surely drown out the roar of the raging river.

Under the water, Emmanuel heard the encouragement echoing from above

and was deeply moved. Overcome with emotion, he pushed forward with

every ounce of strength, even though it felt like his body might tear apart.

Around his neck, the Heart of the Sun began to glow faintly beneath the

water.

“Look! It’s moving!”

“The other boulder’s moving too!”

“They’re merging!”

Boom!

Finally, the two giant boulders came together, sealing the breach in the dam.

The river’s flow slowed dramatically, and the force of the current diminished

almost instantly. The rescue team on the shore rushed in to reinforce the

dam.

Beneath the water, Emmanuel and Santiago exchanged a glance. Both of

them were utterly exhausted, pushed to their limits, yet they smiled at each

other.

“We did it!”

“We actually did it!”

“With the dam repaired, we’ve contained the disaster!”

Cheers erupted from the crowd on the shore as they celebrated the success.

Emmanuel and Santiago finally surfaced, and the team rescued them

Chester stood there, still in disbelief. He had never imagined, not even in his

wildest dreams, that martial artists could wield such power. What Kind of

level is this?

“Santiago, did you just break through your martial arts barrier?”

Not long after, Emmanuel, lying on a stretcher, smiled at Santiago, who was

also on a stretcher next to him.

Both men were utterly drained.

“Hahaha, what a thrill! What a rush!”

Santiago was bursting with excitement.

Emmanuel was just as pleased. He never thought they could join forces as

master and disciple to defeat the wrath of nature.

“Thank you both so much!” Ethan walked over to the two, tears of gratitur in

his eyes. “If it weren’t for the two of you arriving like guardian angels, we

wouldn’t have controlled this disaster so easily. Who knows how many lives

would’ve been lost and how much wealth the nation would’ve wasted?”

Applause broke out among the officials and rescue workers surrounding

them, each person deeply moved.

“Don’t worry. I’ll make sure the media knows the truth.” Ethan promised them

both. “This rescue couldn’t have happened without the two of you!”

Santiago wanted to turn him down. After all, he preferred to stay under the

radar. He didn’t want the fame, especially not with Yorick.

It wouldn’t be any fun if his rival knew too soon.

“Mr. Hale, there’s no need for that.”

Before Santiago could refuse, Emmanuel raised his hand and waved it off. “Reporting something like this wouldn’t do any good. No one would believe it -they’d think it was made up, and it would only bring unnecessary doubt

Ethan was slightly taken aback. Clearly, he hadn’t expected Emmanuel to be

so considerate of his position.

“Mr. Hale, you’ve poured your heart and soul into handling this disaster, and

we’ve all seen it. That’s why you need to take credit for it and win the people’s

trust. Only when you become the leader of Nuthana can you bring stability to

the nation, and that’s what’s best for both the country and its people,”

Emmanuel continued.

Without uttering a word, Santiago smiled quietly. One generation always

replaced the last. Back in the day, they had been the ones influencing the

fate of the nation, and now it was his disciple’s turn. It’s comforting to know

that Hero’s Village never runs out of heroes!

“Alright! Then, on behalf of the people of Riverhaven, thank you both once

again!” Ethan, overcome with emotion, tightly shook their hands, tears

Meanwhile, Mackenzie, after spending a day in Riverhaven, was preparing to

head back to Silvergate.

Before her departure, Anthony approached her with the utmost respect.

“Ms. Quillen, we couldn’t have completed the relief supply mission without

you. The Chairman of the West End Chamber of Commerce also knows

about your efforts. He’s extended a special invitation for you to visit. Would

you do him the honor?”

“Oh, Mr. Willy invited me?”

Mackenzie was a bit surprised. After all, she had no real connection with Ken

To put it bluntly, Ken had always supported Teddy, so naturally, she assumed

he was on Teddy’s side.

“That’s right. Mr. Willy called me personally. He said you’re a remarkable

woman, a true heroine of our times, and that he’s eager to meet you. He’d like

to extend his hospitality and become friends, hoping that both of you can

advance together in the future!” Anthony added with a smile.

Mackenzie nodded thoughtfully before agreeing without hesitation. “Alright,

once I return to Silvergate, I’ll make sure to visit right away. Please let Mr. Willy

know not to be caught off guard by my visit.”

“Absolutely! I’ll pass the message along immediately,” Anthony responded

with a broad smile.

To put it plainly, he was a moderate man, merely acting as a messenger

between the two chairmen.

After Anthony left, Mackenzie made her way back to Silvergate in her own

vehicle, a bulletproof SUV that Quintus had specifically arranged for her.

No one could predict what kind of situation the West End might hold, or if

there were hidden enemies, so they took every precaution to ensure

Mackenzie’s safety.

“Ms. Quillen, you can’t let your guard down around Mr. Willy!”

Lexi, who was riding in the same car, immediately warned once they were on

the road. “The Willy family is no different from the Quill family–they’re just

another dog raised by Teddy. I heard that Emmanuel was in serious danger

when he went to the Quill Residence.”

Mackenzie nodded calmly.

She didn’t possess the extraordinary martial skills that Emmanuel did. If it had

been her visiting the Quill family back then, even with military protection, she

doubted she would have made it out unscathed.

After thinking for a moment, Mackenzie replied, “Lexi, the Willy family isn’t

really like the Quills.”

“First, the West End is a long way from Zovince, so Teddy’s control over him is

weaker.

“Second, the West End doesn’t have a military unit as powerful as the Wolf

Warrior Unit.

“Third, the West End is large and sparsely populated, with local officials who

are far removed from the capital’s influence. That isolation often leads to

ambition, and I might be able to use that to my advantage.”

Lexi agreed with Mackenzie’s analysis, knowing there was no stopping her

from visiting the Willy family. She remained silent for the rest of the ride.

As they passed through Gourd Pass once again, Lexi resumed her report. “Ms.

Quillen, according to our people who stayed behind, only a handful of

mountain bandits were captured and taken to the police station that night.

Most of them escaped before the authorities arrived.”

“What?! Mackenzie was both surprised and furious, Does that mean

everything we did that night was for nothing?
