Magnus remained at case, a confident smile curving his lips as he silently endured the pointed stares directed his way.
With that, the group entered Stonvale. From the outside, the town nestled within the mountainous forest appeared to be a humble village. Still, its interior revealed a bustling, lively settlement filled with people going about their day.
After settling into a wellâmaintained hotel, Mackenzie checked in on Libby.
âThank you for your concern, Mackenzie. Iâm fine now. Libby responded softly, her demeanor obedient and reserved.
Her personality was reminiscent of Claudetteâs, though her aura was distinctly different. Their physiques also differed. Libby appeared delicate and youthful, resembling a fifteen or sixteenâyearâold girl. However, as Mackenzie had recently learned, she was already nineteen years and nine months old.
Noticing Libbyâs torn and dirty clothes, Claudette kindly offered her own. Unfortunately, Libby, though slightly shorter, was significantly more voluptuous. Claudetteâs tops and undergarments didnât fit her at all.
When Mackenzie entered the room and saw the dilemma, she chuckled. âTry mine, then!â
âYours?â Claudette blurted out instinctively.

In her mind, Mackenzieâs undergarments were only a size larger than hers, and Libby needed something two or three sizes bigger. Mackenzieâs might not fit either.
âWell, if mine donât work, weâll just go into town and buy some new ones,â Mackenzie replied smoothly, gesturing to Solana to bring her spare clothes.
To everyoneâs surprise, Libby fit perfectly into Mackenzieâs attire.
Claudette suddenly felt a twinge of insecurity. Since Mackenzie had her child, her figure had only grown more stunning.
The two women, both kindâhearted, carefully helped Libby dress and tidy herself up. Once dressed in Mackenzieâs elegant clothes, Libby transformed into a breathtaking beauty.
âLibby, you look stunning!â Claudette exclaimed, unable to hide her amazement.
âNo, Iâm not.â Libby lowered her head shyly, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Compared to Mackenzie and Claudette, she felt worlds apart.
Mackenzie laughed, âOh, but you are! The
say there are no ugly women, only lazy ones. Libby, youâve got such a great foundation. With just a little effort, youâre a natural beauty!â
âExactly! Your skin is so radiantâit makes me jealous!â Lexi chimed in, though she thought to herself. Her appearance is as remarkable as these two heiresses, but her aura, especially compared to Ms.Quillenâs, still falls short.
âPlease donât tease me. I could never compare to you two,â Libby murmured nervously, fidgeting with her fingers.
âHaha, you need more confidence!â Claudette encouraged, taking her hand. âLooking like this, letâs see if

Mackenzie and Lexi shared a knowing laugh at that.

Just then, Hattie entered the room. After marveling at bbyâs transformation, she informed Mackenzie that Magnus needed to discuss something important with her.
Mackenzie, Lexi, and Hattie left the room, leaving Claudette and Libby behind.
âLibby, you must be hungry. Iâll step out and have someone bring food up for you,â Claudette said warmly, treating Libby like a younger sister.
Libby was deeply touched. As soon as Claudette left, she found herself alone, tears of gratitude welling up in her eyes.
âMackenzie! Mackenzie!â Quintusâ voice suddenly echoed from outside.
Unaware that Mackenzie had left with Hattie, Quintus headed straight for Claudetteâs room, having heard she was there. Seeing the door slightly ajar, he pushed it open and spotted Libbyâs back.
âOh, Mackenzie, why are you alone? Haha.â Quintusâ tone was uncharacteristically gentle, a stark contrast to his usual gruffness. Seeing the clothes, he naturally assumed it was Mackenzie.
Libby immediately realized he had feelings for Mackenzieâwell, she thought, the man had good taste.
âDinnerâs ready. Letâs go eat and talk about our next steps,â Quintus said cheerfully.
To his surprise, Mackenzieâör rather, Libbyâremained silent and kept her back turned.
âMackenzie, whatâs wrong?â Quintus asked, puzzled.

When she still didnât respond, he frowned and moved closer. Something felt off.
âMackenzie, are you⦠shorter?â he blurted, his tone laced with suspicion. âDid someone mess with you?â
Growing anxious, he stepped forward and spun her aroundâonly to find himself faceâtoâface with someone completely unexpected.
âWhat the-! Youâre not Mackenzie!â
Quintusâ first instinct was anger. âHow dare you impersonate my goddess? Are you asking for trouble?â
He raised his fist instinctively but froze when he recognized her face. It was Libby.
âItâs you, Lib?â Quintus frowned, questioning, âWhy are you wearing Mackenzieâs clothes?â
Libbyâs face paled, and for a moment, she couldnât say anything.
âHmph! Take them off right now! No oneâs allowed to imitate Mackenzie. Youâre nowhere near her level. Havenât you heard the saying, âIt takes more than a dragon robe to make a princeâ?â Quintus scolded harshly, his tone cold.
Libbyâs tears began to flow instantly. Quintus had been the one to save her during her most desperate moment, and she admired him deeply for his strong, upright nature. Yet here he was, looking down on
her.
âAre vou crving? Why are vou crving?â Quintus grew flustered, stomping his foot anxiously.

âWhatâs going on here?â
Claudette returned just in time to witness the scene. She had food in her hands and stopped short, shocked. âQuin, how did you get in here?â

Seeing Libbyâs tearâstreaked face, Claudetteâs expression darkened. She placed the food down and strode over to shove Quintus firmly. âWhat are you doing? Are you bullying Libby again?â
Just earlier, sheâd reassured Libby that Quintus would surely take pity on her, thinking heâd show a softer side. Yet, to her shock, he had proven her completely wrong. He was stubbornâlike a stone from a latrine pit.
âMe? I didnât bully her!â Quintus protested. âI just told her to stop wearing Mackenzieâs clothes and to take them off. Then she started crying!â
Claudetteâs fury boiled over. âQuin, how is that not bullying? Telling a girl to take off her clothesâthatâs harassment!â
âButâ¦â Quintus looked around helplessly. Is that harassment?
Libby rugged at Claudetteâs sleeve, speaking up for him. âClaudette, donât blame him. Heâs right. Iâm not worthy of wearing Mackenzieâs clothes. Iâll change back into my own.â
âHow can that be okay?â Claudette snapped, her usual gentleness replaced with irritation as she glared at Quintus. âApologize to Libby, right now! Her clothes were torn and dirty. Mackenzie and I gave her something clean to wear. How could you be so inconsiderate and hurt her feelings like that?â
âButâ¦â Quintus threw his hands up in frustration, wondering if he was wrong. Anyone would have reacted the same way if they saw someone else in their goddess clothes.
âClaudette, donât blame him. Heâs right.â Libby, however, insisted on standing up for Quintus. Spreading her arms protectively in front of him, she pleaded on his behalf.
