Mauve Protector clenched his fists, clearly displeased with Mackenzie’s airs and graces.

Ayan leaned closer to his ear and whispered, “I’ve heard Mackenzie is quite the stunner. Rumor has it that she’s accompanied by several beauties. If we capture them all… well, you know what I mean.”

The rest of his suggestion didn’t need to be said out loud–the implication was clear.

Mauve Protector chuckled darkly. “Fine by me. The Serpent King only likes virgins anyway. If they’re not, we can enjoy them ourselves. Let’s go!”

After sharing a few crude laughs, the group made their way toward the hotel.

Upon arrival, they didn’t need to break in. Instead, Mauve Protector consumed a strange substance and exhaled a peculiar smoke that quickly rendered everyone in the hotel unconscious.

Mauve Protector gestured for his men to follow him inside.

The hotel wasn’t very tall. In the banquet hall, members of the Wolf Warrior Unit were already succumbing to the effects of the poison. Most had collapsed onto their dining tables before the Five Poison Sect even made their move.

Mauve Protector didn’t respond. His eyes widened in disbelief as more and more people started to rise. One after another, they raised their heads, each wearing the same strange mask.

Mackenzie couldn’t help but give him a thumbs–up.

Even Rhett, who had long since donned the gas mask, gave Magnus a thumbs–up. If only he had this gear earlier when fighting the Great Four Envoys, he wouldn’t have suffered such severe injuries.

Watching Magnus steal the spotlight, Laura leaned close to Claudette and whispered, “I have to admit, that guy can be kind of charming sometimes.”
