Chapter 2126 The Poisonous Snowy Mist
âTheyâre already suspicious?â
Quintus looked puzzled. âNo way. Our disguises and performance were flawless. Who couldâve slipped up?â
Seeing him still so clueless, even looking back at the others as if to shift the blame, Magnus could hold his tongue, but Solanaâa fieryâtempered allyâcouldnât. She lashed out, exclaiming, âWho else? Obviously, itâs you, the leader of this circus!â
âMe?*
Quintus pointed to himself, looking genuinely innocent.
âAre you that dense? Do Five Poison Sect members ever praise their leader the way you just did? And donât even get me started on how you were bragging about yourself!â
Solana spat at him, mockingly repeating, âA man of unmatched valor and strength,â seriously?â
âWell, I wasnât wrong about that!â
Quintus scratched the back of his head sheepishly and finally laughed. He turned to Magnus. âAlright, Chief Strategist. What now?â,
Magnus analyzed calmly. âThey let us in on purpose. Theyâre planning something. We need to halt immediately.â
âHalt?â
Quintus frowned, clearly perplexed.
The others, too, were curious about what plan Magnus had in mind this time.
Solana, in particular, had no strong feelings about him at first. But after seeing him repeatedly help Mackenzie retrieve treasures and offer brilliant strategies that felt almost like foresight, she couldnât help but admire him.
Now, the moment Magnus spoke, her eyes lit up with anticipation. Unlike Claudette, she had a thing for brainiacs.
Magnus reached into his coat and pulled out a tablet. Bringing up a map, he explained, âThese are aerial images I captured using a satellite before coming in. Aside from areas blocked by dense jungle, Iâve got most of the details mapped out.â
âYouâre something else, man!â
Quintus looked at the photos and couldnât help but praise Magnus. Even he, with all his experience, couldnât have captured such images.
âOf course he is! Otherwise, how could we expect a guy like you, all brawn and no brains, to lead us in these complicated battles?â
Salona couldnât resist firing back at Quintus.

However, Quintus was quite generous with women who shared his fiery temper. He laughed heartily and didnât take offense.
Magnus ignored the praise and continued, pointing to the map. âLook here. After passing the checkpoint, thereâs only one main road leading into the core area. There are many buildings in the inner area, which must house the innocent people who were abducted al forced to work as laborers. Theyâre spread out quite far!â
Everyone nodded in agreement.
âBut hereâs the critical point,â Magnus said, his tone turning serious. âOur goal isnât just to pinpoint the Serpent Altar or the enemyâs main forces. Our first priority is to stay alive.â
âStay alive?â
Quintus and the others stiffened at the word.
âExactly,â Magnus confirmed.
Then, he added, âOur reinforcements wonât arrive for another two days. Right now, weâre outnumbered and outgunned. Including our people inside and out, weâre barely a hundred strong. The guards suspect us already and will likely alert their higherâups.â
As Magnus spoke, he gestured to several structures on the map. âIf Iâm right, these buildings are outposts of the Five Poison Sect. They can use them to coordinate reinforcements, ambush us along the mountain pass, or even release poisonous mists and venomous creatures to trap us. If we move recklessly, weâll walk straight into their trap.â
The team instantly understood. Each of them gave Magnus a thumbsâup, their respect for him growing.
Solana, genuinely impressed, added, âWith Mr. Zelinsky as our strategist, itâs like having a few extra lives in our pocket!â
However, Quintus raised a practical concern. âBut staying here isnât a solution either. If they suspect us, itâs only a matter of time before they attack us from both sides. Should we retreat now?â
âNo.â
Magnus waved his hand. âWeâve worked hard to infiltrate this place. If we retreat now, reâentering will be nearly impossible. Instead, weâll take the mountain trails. Itâs unexpected, and they wonât anticipate it. Once our reinforcements arrive, weâll coordinate a pincer attack from the inside and outside. That should be enough to crush the Five Poison Sect.â
âMr. Zelinsky, youâre brilliant!â Solana exclaimed.
She gave Magnus another thumbsâup.
âAlright, letâs do it!â
Quintus was convinced by Magnusâ analysis and strategy and agreed to follow his plan.
Meanwhile, outside the snowâcovered mountainsâ¦
On a high hill, the four envoys braved the cold wind and snow as they looked down at the mountain below.

âAora, Mackenzie is right down there, and the Wolf Warrior Unit is split in two. This is our perfect opportunity!â
Envoy Azure couldnât help but speak up.
Their mission in the West End was to eliminate Mackenzie. But nearly a month had passed, and she was still alive. The chairman of the Chamber of Commerce was growing increasingly dissatisfied with their
progress.
It was critical to know that the chairman still needed their help to return to Zovince and eliminate Emmanuel. They couldnât afford to waste any more time in this wretched place.
âThis is indeed our perfect chance to kill Mackenzie, It too bad that Toad King insisted on waiting for them to clash with the Serpent Kingâs forces first. He wants them to weaken each other before he makes his move. Now, I canât get them to send all their troops to help us take down Mackenzie!â
Envoy Aora
couldnât help but grit his teeth in frustration.
âAora, if we miss this opportunity, we might not get another one!â
Envoy Amethyst was also extremely anxious.
âDonât worry. Toad King might not be willing to go all out, but Iâve always had a strong connection with him. He wouldnât deploy his forces, but when I was on his turf, I managed to snag a little something from him.â
Envoy Aoraâs lips curled into a smug smile,
âWhat kind of something?â the other three envoys asked in unison.
âRight on time!â
Envoy Aoraâs gaze shifted downward.
The others followed his line of sight and were immediately stunned. A swarm of bloodâred toads was hopping toward them.
âWhy⦠Why arenât these toads hibernating? How can they withstand the cold?â Envoy Amethyst asked in curiosity.
âThese are a special breed raised by Toad King, called Crimson Blood Toads. Their blood runs extremely hot, so they need to be kept in ice during the summer. But when it snows in winter? Thatâs their favorite
season!â
He continued with pride, âTheir blood is lethally toxic. If it splashes onto your skin, itâs like molten lava. Even if it doesnât touch the skin, their blood mixes with the snowy mist and creates a massive poisonous zone. Once inhaled, a normal person will die from poisoning in less than half an hour. Even highly skilled martial artists wouldnât survive more than two days!â
âThatâs incredible!â
Envoy Amethyst clapped her hands in excitement. âAora, how do we use them now?â
Envoy Aora took out a crimson clay ball and smirked. âItâs simple. These Crimson Blood Toads are drawn to the scent of this red clay. Watch this.â

He wrapped the clay ball in snow, then threw it down the mountain, aiming for the area where Mackenzieâs camp was located.
Thud.

The snowball, like all the other snow falling from the higher ground, quickly melted into the thick snow on the ground.
As if on cue, the swarm of Crimson Blood Toads changed direction, hopping eagerly down toward the base of the mountain.
âOnce they reach the base, weâll take them out with hidden weapons. Their deaths will instantly create a massive toxic zone. With the wind and snow carrying the poison, Mackenzie and her team wonât stand a chance! Hahahaâ¦â
Envoy Aora laughed smugly.
Envoy Amethystâs eyes were filled with ruthless determination, and her purple lips curled into a wicked grin. âThat woman, Mackenzie, is far too arrogant. Marching her team straight into the Five Poison Sectâs territory? Sheâs practically knocking on hellâs door. She deserves whateverâs coming to her!â
