Rhett didn’t hesitate. He wasn’t the type to let emotions cloud his judgment. Libby had volunteered for the sake of victory. If she ended up dying, it would be a sacrifice for the greater good.

If they rushed out now to save her, it would undo all their efforts. Worse, it would alert the Five Poison Sect that their tactics had been detected, robbing them of the chance to draw the enemy out and deliver a surprise attack.

Without hesitation, Rhett and the others stepped out of the tent.

But as they moved to rescue the patrol, one by one, they collapsed onto the snow–covered ground.

When the area seemed completely still, four figures emerged from the heights and strode confidently toward the fallen group.

“Heh, Aora, these Crimson Blood Toads sure pack a punch!” Envoy Amethyst remarked smugly.

“Keep your mouth shut! If we inhale too much of the toxic mist, even the antidote won’t save us,” Envoy Aora warned sharply.

“Got it!” Envoy Amethyst huffed but then sneered coldly. “I’ll head straight in and kill Mackenzie myself!”

Without waiting for a response, she charged toward the central tent.

But as she burst inside, the fallen Wolf Warrior soldiers suddenly sprang to their feet.

Envoy Azure was stunned, unable to believe what he was seeing.

Envoy Ash stared in disbelief, his mind struggling to comprehend the impossible sight.

Inside the central tent, Envoy Amethyst froze, her wide eyes filled with shock. What on earth is happening?

Rhett and Anna were already standing, looking unscathed. And there was Mackenzie, sitting calmly in the tent, her striking eyes gleaming with sharp clarity. She didn’t look poisoned in the slightest!

“D*mn it! We’ve been tricked!” Envoy Aora exclaimed, abandoning his earlier warnings. “Amethyst, retreat!”

But it was too late.

The Wolf Warrior Unit opened fire, bullets tearing through the air toward the intruders. Panic surged through the three of them, their backs drenched in cold sweat.

Envoy Aora reacted swiftly, his agility allowing him to dive behind a boulder at the base of the hill.

Envoy Azure, who had been positioned farthest back, managed to escape unscathed, though he was left visibly shaken.

Envoy Ash wasn’t as fortunate. A bullet struck his thigh.

And within moments, a hail of gunfire turned him into a lifeless heap.

Asht Ashl Envoy Aura screamed, his eyes blazing with fury. Seeing his comrade slain on the spot ignited fire of rage in his heart. “D“mn it! These people fight without honor! I won’t forgive them!”

Maintaining his calm, Envoy Azure forcibly dragged Envoy Aora away from the battlefield.

As the Wolf Warrior Unit surged forward, the two kicked up snow as a diversion and leaped up the mountain to make their escape.

This left Envoy Amethyst behind in the central tent, abandoned without mercy.

As she contemplated making a break for it, Rhett’s crimson cloak suddenly swept past her like a streak of fire, cutting off her escape route with staggering speed.

From within the tent, Mackenzie’s cold voice echoed, “Capture her alive if possible. If not, dead will suffice.”

“You got it!”

Anna was brimming with fighting spirit. Her last match with Envoy Amethyst had been left undecided, and now was the perfect chance to settle the score and showcase the strength of the Wolf Warrior women.

Though Envoy Amethyst was slightly stronger than Anna, her focus wasn’t on fighting. She was consumed by thoughts of escaping or finding a chance to take Mackenzie hostage–or better yet, kill her outright. Her scattered focus left her vulnerable, and she quickly found herself at a disadvantage.

When Anna launched a deadly strike at her vital points, she shocked everyone by neither dodging nor parrying. Instead, she screamed at the top of her lungs, For Mr. Tanner’s mission!”

At the same time, she hurled a concealed weapon–a violet feather dart–directly at Mackenzie’s forehead.

“Ms. Quillen! Watch out!”

Lexi, standing nearby, screamed in terror. But as an ordinary person, she lacked the speed or skill to shield Mackenzie from the deadly attack.

A sinister smile of satisfaction curved across Envoy Amethyst’s lips as she watched the dart streak toward its target.

But just as the dart was about to pierce Mackenzie’s brow, Rhett moved like a phantom. With an eerie swiftness, he caught the dart mid–air between his fingers.

Mackenzie’s voice rang out just in time to halt Anna’s rampage.

As Mackenzie stepped forward, her calm and commanding presence sent shivers through the defeated Envoy Amethyst. Despite her condition, Envoy Amethyst clenched her jaw, her gaze still filled with defiance. With every ounce of strength left, she tried to lunge at Mackenzie, aiming for a final act of defiance.

But before she could act, Anna’s boot slammed down on her face. The force shattered her carefully applied makeup, leaving her battered and humiliated. “Don’t even think about it,” Anna growled, pressing down harder. “If you move again, I’ll crush your skull right here!”

Immobilized but undeterred, Envoy Amethyst turned her head, her eyes blazing with hatred. She glared at Mackenzie with such intensity it was as if she believed she could kill her with just a look.

It was a look that both Mackenzie and Rhett understood immediately–this was a woman who feared nothing, not even death. Her loyalty to Teddy Tanner was absolute.

“Why do you want me dead so badly?” Mackenzie asked her tone steady.

“Because… you… are Mr. Tanner’s enemy,” Envoy Amethyst hissed through gritted teeth. “Your very existence threatens his power and position!”

Mackenzie’s eyes narrowed. “And you’re willing to die for him? For a man who’s nothing more than a traitor to his nation? Do you even know the atrocities he’s committed? He’s waged secret wars, slaughtering thousands of soldiers from the Northern Region. He’s silenced dissenters and murdered countless innocents. Are you truly blind to all of that?”

Envoy Amethyst let out a bitter scoff. “Those people deserved to die… and so do you!“.

Anna, unable to hold back her anger, snapped, “How can someone as brainwashed as you even exist? Your Holiness, stop wasting your breath on her. Let’s just kill her. Keeping someone like her alive is pointless!”

“Do whatever you want!” Envoy Amethyst retorted, her voice filled with defiance. “I’m just curious… ‘How did you know we’d attack?”

“That’s easy!” Anna sneered. “Such an obvious trap, and you’re just now realizing it? You underestimated Her Holiness‘ brilliance. Your little schemes were doomed from the start!”

“It was Magnus who warned me.”

Mackenzie, however, didn’t bask in the victory. Instead, she answered honestly. “He taught me that

Just then, a Wolf Warrior soldier entered the tent and luted. “Your Holiness, we’ve neutralized the one in yellow, but the ones in red and green escaped. How should we handle the body?”

“Bury the dead one. As for this one…” Mackenzie’s gaze shifted to Envoy Amethyst. “Bind her tightly.”

She turned to the soldier, her voice calm but commanding. “Prepare for her comrades to come back for her. When they do, we’ll take them all down in one sweep.”
