Jeff initially thought the woman was just aloof and difficult, but now she realized she was utterly ruthless.

If she’d known, she would never have shared Caden’s whereabouts with these people, let alone worked alongside them.

“Ms. Heller, though her words were rude, she’s not entirely wrong. Ordinary soldiers with firearms pose no threat to you.”

Gautier knew Tailynn’s character. He always appeased her.

Besides relying on Teddy, he also used his brain to make this woman work for him.

“Hmph. Firearms are useless in the mountains. They’re mere toys to someone like me,” Tailynn scoffed, her confidence unshaken.

Just as he reached for it, the woman’s whip lashed out with lightning speed.
