Although he had a decent grasp of the Holy Trinity, Commander Stevenson rarely claborated on its specifics. Emmanuel was eager to hear how much Etha knew–and perhaps learn more in the process.

Ethan nodded, speaking with a measured tone. “To understand the Holy Trinity, we need to start with Chanaea nearly a century ago.”

“Back then, Chanaca was weak and plagued by foreign oppression. That’s when the Holy Fire organization first emerged.”

“They relied on their exceptional combat skills, excelling in guerrilla warfare, and carried the banner of resistance, aiming to expel foreign forces from Chanaca.”

“But their numbers were too few, and their weaponry lagged. Eventually, they fell to foreign powers, leaving them in shambles.”

Emmanuel listened attentively, interrupting briefly. “Mr. Hale, what you’re saying differs slightly from what I’ve learned. Didn’t the organization exist for several centuries? And their influence today is substantial.”

“Patience,” Ethan replied with a small smile, gesturing for Emmanuel to hear him out. “The original Holy Fire organization does trace back centuries and was purely a Chanaean force. However, after their defeat decades ago, they were reshaped with foreign influence.”

Emmanuel’s eyebrows lifted slightly, intrigued.

Ethan continued, “The Holy Trinity used to be just the Holy Fire organization, composed solely of people from Chanaea. But since then, the group has infiltrated foreign forces and is no longer pure!”

“Although the core leaders are still from Chanaea, they have already been influenced by foreign ways of thinking. Over time, the Holy Fire organization has expanded its membership globally.”

“They did this because of their defeat in the past, compounded by the influence of Western ideologies, which emphasize the survival of the fittest. They believed that as long as they could grow stronger, they would do anything necessary.”

“With such thinking and the power to back it up, it was inevitable that their ambitions would swell!”

“They blamed their failure back then on not having control of political power, so they became fixated on Chanaea’s regime, plotting for many years to seize control of it.”

“Under these circumstances, they began planting officials within Chanaea, and after years of cultivation, Mason finally made his move. Now, they are on the verge of gaining control of Chanaea’s government!”

Previously, Emmanuel had believed that the Warlord, the Divine Dance Matriarch, and the Great Saint King were siblings, but now he realized they were completely unrelated by blood!

Ethan seemed to sense what he was thinking and conveniently continued, “Although the leaders of the three organizations aren’t siblings, they are like brothers and sisters in spirit because they share common goals or beliefs.”

Ethan didn’t disappoint. “She’s Isabella Tanner, Teddy Tanner’s younger sister. Her mission is to see Chanaea’s borders restored to what they were a century ago.”

Emmanuel’s expression shifted to mild astonishment. That kind of ambition was admirable in theory, but it carried massive implications.

“Expanding borders on such a scale would inevitably lead to large–scale wars,” he remarked.

Ethan nodded gravely. “Exactly. Now you understand why the Holy Trinity is so dangerous. If they gain control of Chanaea, it’s a guarantee that wars will follow.”

Emmanuel exhaled deeply, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.

Ethan continued, “Their worldview remains stuck in the past. Being an ancient organization, their thinking is deeply entrenched.”

“But Chanaea must not fall into their hands,” Ethan asserted. “War wouldn’t just devastate our people;‘ it would deplete our nation’s strength. They fail to see this, believing victory would solve everything.”

“In reality, the global landscape has changed. Western nations would never allow Chanaea to win such wars. They’d claim moral high ground, rally the world against us, impose sanctions, and provide resources to our enemies. The Holy Trinity lacks comprehensive strategic foresight.”

Emmanuel smiled faintly. “You’re right. To them, you and Artemis Barton’s faction appear overly cautious. It’s mutual disdain, isn’t it?”

“Not exactly,” Ethan countered, shaking his head. “Our strategic patience isn’t something those relics can comprehend. And, of course, we’d never broadcast it.”

“Oh?” Emmanuel’s interest was piqued further.

“Emmanuel, you’re our military backbone and a vital part of Chanaea’s future. That’s why I’m sharing these state secrets with you today.”

After talking for so long, Ethan finally revealed the true reason he had been chatting with Emmanuel.

Emmanuel, as a general, was only well–versed in battlefield strategy and tactics. As for political strategies or grand national plans, no one had ever discussed them with him, perhaps because of his retirement three years ago.

“Our grand strategy isn’t focused on the loss of a city or a region. We’re aiming for global peace, with Chanaea controlling everything!”

“At that point, the entire world will be unified, and what would be the point of worrying about where national borders once were?”

At this point, Ethan’s eyes glimmered with rare excitement. “Although both aim for Chanaea’s strength and world control; their meanings are fundamentally different. The Holy Trinity wants to use the jungle law to force other countries into submission to dominate the world. Meanwhile, we want all of humanity to recognize our values, discard conflict, and work together to build a global community with a shared destiny for humankind!”

Upon hearing this, Emmanuel’s expression was one of awe. Ethan, once seen as just a kind–hearted man, suddenly appeared towering in stature.
