Back at the Tanner Residence, news of Levi’s death had reached Teddy by nightfall.

Sitting in his dimly lit study, he clenched his fists, his face twisting in anguish.

“Levi… my friend…” His voice trembled, thick with grief, as he buried his face in his hands.

The room was quiet except for Aora, his most trusted confidant, standing nearby.

Seeing Teddy so devastated, Aora’s expression darkened with sorrow. “Mr. Tanner, please accept my condolences,” he stated solemnly.

Teddy wiped at his damp cheeks and straightened his posture. “Gautier? Send him in.”

A moment later, Gautier stepped inside, his gaze immediately locking onto Teddy’s grief–stricken face. His brows furrowed in concern as he asked, “Master, I just heard… Mr. Lestrange–what happened?”

Teddy exhaled slowly, struggling to find words.

Aora, on the other hand, wasted no time. His tone was sharp, ice–cold. “Emmanuel sent someone to kill him.”

“What?!” Gautier’s eyes widened in shock. He then argued, “Mr. Lestrange was a good man. He never had deep grudges with them!”

Teddy finally found his voice, his tone low and heavy. “After we left, Mackenzie and her people were poisoned. They couldn’t figure out who did it, so they blamed Levi… and executed him.”

“That’s absurd!” Gautier seethed. His hands curled into fists. “That arrogant b*stard! Emmanuel abuses his power like a tyrant, thinking he’s untouchable!”

Teddy let out a hearty laugh. “Well done! I heard Mackenzie has some troublesome allies. If a few of them die, tomorrow’s battle will be far casier.”
