Chapter 2235 The Decisive Vote!
âItâs okay. Youâre here, and thatâs all that matters.â
Terence gently patted Hannahâs back, tears streaming down his face.

Family? Itâs more valuable than anything else, especially for an old man like me. I feel my life is slipping away, but nowâs not the time for emotional reunions between me and Hannah, especially when the electionâs not over yet. Itâs a tie of 132 votes against 132 votes!
Out of 264 total votes, neither side had claimed a decisive lead.
This kind of deadlock hadnât been seen in the last two electionsâor in the Chamberâs entire history. No one had ever reached 130 votes without securing victory.
Only thirteen votes remained.
Based on previous predictions, the remaining votes were expected to be split, with three for Mackenzie, five for Teddy, and five undecided but leaning toward Teddy.
âDonât panic, Teddy. Itâs just starting,â Catherine muttered as she watched the live stream.
Even through the screen, Teddyâs stress was evident.
He had planned everything so carefullyâremoving the West End representatives, orchestrating poisonings in Zovince, threatening anyone in his way. Yet the election still spun out of control.
Although he had everything in his favor, the election spiraled beyond his control because of Anselâs unexpected betrayal that was followed by Kenâs return and Nuthanaâs and West Endâs sudden backings.
Worst of all, there was Bernettâs defectionâ¦
For someone so used to controlling every detail, this was chaos. It was even more dramatic than when he ousted the previous Chamber of Commerce head.
When your confidence takes repeated hits, panic is inevitable. And Iâm no exception.
Even with a slim lead, Teddy could not believe in victory.
He had underestimated Mackenzie. She was not just determined but she was unstoppable.
âThe Nuthana representative, Walter Zackas, votes for Mackenzie! West End representatives, Delilah Aba and Zera Zimmer, also vote for Mackenzie!â
As Ansel announced the results, Mackenzie surged ahead with a threeâvote lead.
Though these votes were expected, having them secured now added weight to the moment. Every vote was critical.
Ansel felt the pressure. He had done all he could to help Mackenzie.
With no representatives left from Nuthana or West End, he didnât know who to call next. He could only leave it to fate.
âThe next representativeâSilvester Moore from Arendelle!â Ansel randomly selected someone from a

Silvester had planned to vote for Mackenzie. By now, any reasonable person without personal motives would have made the same choice.
âMr. Moore.â
Teddyâs voice cut through the tension, cold and threatening. âYour daughter is doing well in Zovince, isnât she? And your nephew is starting at Binari University of Zovince, right?â
1 freeze as only a fool wouldnât catch the meaningâit was a blatant threat.
Teddy had dropped all pretense. He would stop at nothing for victory.
âYâYesâ¦â Silvester hesitated, then reluctantly nodded. âMr. Tanner.â
âWell⦠good,â Teddy muttered with a small nod, achieving his goal without any concrete proof.
âHow shameless!â Mackenzie whispered under her breath.
Teddy did not care, though, thinking, Only the shameless can be invincible!
And sure enough, Silvester abstained from voting. He chose to remain neutral to avoid offending either side..
Teddy felt relieved. If the remaining neutral voters also abstained, he could still win by two votes.
Outside, Beatrix stood with hands clasped tightly, silently praying. âPlease, let Mackenzie winâ¦â She gazed at the sky with hope.
Claudette also clasped her hands, silently pleading as well.
Just then, someone arrived at the venue.
âMâMagnus Zelinsky!â Claudette trembled at the sight of him.
Everyone at the venue was surprisedâwhy would the scion of the Zelinsky family show up at such a critical moment?
As the head supervisor, Ansel paused the voting process even though it wasnât necessary.
He, too, was rooting for Mackenzie.
If she lost now, it would be a disaster.
âThe Zelinsky family has revoked Paul Zelinskyâs representative status and appointed me instead,â Magnus explained, adjusting his glasses with a small smile.
âWhat?â The crowd was stunned.
Can they even do that?
It depended on Paulâs agreement. Since it was an internal family matter, no one could interfere if both sides accepted.
Paul, a mere pawn raised by the family, did not dare object.
Magnus was the true heir of the Zelinsky family. Not only was he superior to Teddy. but he was also Teddyâs

Teddy could not figure out Magnusâ motives was he there to help himself to take credit and turn the tide, or to deliver a fatal blow?
âAlright, Mr. Magnus, please take a seat!â
Silvester welcomed Magnus before quickly resuming the voting process.
âNext up, Silvester Zelinsky from Zovince! Oh, what perfect timing!â Silvester chuckled. âMr. Magnus, you arrived just in time to cast your vote!â
Normally, people would have found the timing suspicious. But today, after everything, no one was surprised.
All eyes followed Magnus as he stepped forward.
Everyone knew his vote would determine the election.
âMâMagnus Zelinsky!â Claudette gasped outside. To her, he was like a demon from her past.
However, Hannah had only just turned over a new life, so what brought the man here?
Magnus smiled slightly and cast his vote.
Silvester immediately announced, âMagnus Zelinsky, the representative from Zovince, votes for Mackenzie Quillen!â
Boom!
The entire venue froze. Teddy and his supporters stood in shock.
Itâs 136 votes against 132 votes!
One of Teddyâs supposedly secured votes had slipped away.
Now, only eight votes remainedâfour from neutral representatives and the remaining four initially intended for Teddy.
