Beatrix jumped out from the side with arms akimbo and raised chin, pouting in annoyance. “Hmm… Will this meal be just as miserable as the last one?”

“Huh? Absolutely not!” Nathan waved his hands. “I swear, this time it will be without a hitch! The Chapman Crest Hotel shall only treat the group here tonight!”

Drawing from her experience in handling high–level officials, Mackenzie smiled. “Mr. Hale, I appreciate your kind words. I still have much to learn, but I hope to contribute to the nation’s business sector however

I can.”

“Ms. Quillen, there’s no need for modesty.” Ethan waved his hand, continuing, “I came not just to congratulate you, but also to warn you–Teddy Tanner’s roots run deep. Be prepared for a tough fight ahead.”
