Chapter 2239 Teddyâs Lies Exposed!
âWhatâs wrong?â Emmanuel noticed the shift in Santiagoâs expression.

Santiago hesitated for a moment before saying, âI remember⦠Colinâs daughter died years ago. She had birthmarksâone on her right arm and another on her lower back.â
His gaze fell on Xylieâs arm. Not a single mark.
âYou sure about that?â Emmanuel asked, frowning.
He hadnât checked her lower back at the moment, but during an acupuncture treatment, he had seen enough to knowâXylie didnât have those birthmarks.
âHow could I be wrong? I held that kid in my arms back then!â Santiago replied, his tone firm.
Emmanuel let out a slow breath. âWell, that settles it. Teddyâs been lying to her from the start. He fed her a fake identity so that he could use her to marry into the Chapman Family and gain their backing.â
Santiago nodded, unsurprised. Knowing Teddy, this kind of deceit was par for the course.
âMaster, earlier, you said she looks like someone. Who?â Emmanuel asked, a suspicion forming in his mind.
Santiago chuckled. âJane. And a little like Isabella, too. Guess it runs in the bloodâall beauties.â
Emmanuel narrowed his eyes. A wild thought crossed his mind. âMaster⦠is there any chance sheâs actually your daughter?â
Santiago burst out laughing. âNo way. Iâve had that thought myself, but I saw Jane and our daughter die with my own eyes.â
Emmanuel frowned. âYou saw it happen? Tell me exactly what went down.â
Santiagoâs face darkened as he took a deep breath. His eyes flickered with old grief as he stared at the ceiling.
âBack then, Yorick was a fugitive, hunted by every major martial arts sect. Even so, he refused to let go of. Jane. While I was away, he tried to take her and our daughter with him.â
âOf course, Jane refused. When I rushed back⦠I saw him shove them into the sea with his own handsâ¦â âThe waves were raging. The cliffs were brutal. We searched for three days straight, but they were gone.â
Silence filled the room.
Then, a small movement caught Emmanuelâs eyeâXylieâs eyelids fluttered. Slowly, she opened her eyes. âXylie, youâre awake!â Emmanuelâs voice carried both relief and excitement.
She blinked up at him, her lips trembling. âEmmanuel, I⦠Iâm sorry. Iâve been such a burden.â
âWhat nonsense are you saying? You saved my life. Anything I do for you is the least I can do,â Emmanuel responded, exasperated.
Santiago stepped forward, his voice steady. âListen, you need to stay alive. Your past is more complicated

Xylie looked at Santiago, confused.
She had never seen him before, yet something about him felt oddly familiar.

Noticing her expression, Emmanuel spoke softly, âTeddy lied to you. Youâre probably not Colinâs daughter at all. Heâs been using you.â
Xylie froze. âWhat?â
A deep panic flickered in her eyes. My whole lifeâmy very identityâis nothing but a lie?
Despite the turmoil inside her, she nodded. She trusted Emmanuel. If nothing else, she believed in him.
After a round of acupuncture, her breathing steadied, and color returned to her face.
Once Emmanuel was sure she was stable, he stepped outside with Santiago.
By now, Mackenzie and the others had returned to the estate.
Seeing that his wife and the rest were safe, Emmanuel felt a weight lift off his chest. Teddyâs election loss had caused internal chaos, meaning there was no immediate threat for now.
âEmmanuel, you need to rest. You look exhausted,â Mackenzie urged, concern in her voice as she noticed the sheen of sweat on his forehead.
Flashing a small smile, Emmanuel assured her, âI feel great. Youâre the one who should get some rest. The real battle is only just starting.â
It wasnât an empty statement. With the Art of Sunflame flowing through him, exhaustion was a thing of the
past.
Mackenzie nodded. She knew all too well what he meant. The two of them took turns getting some rest.
The night passed without incident.
At sunrise, Mackenzie was to visit the Chanaea Chamber of Commerce headquarters to officially take over Teddyâs role.
Emmanuel had planned to go with her, but Santiago called him for an urgent video call. Reluctantly, he parted ways with his wife for the morning.
The screen flickered on inside a secured communication chatroom, and Santiago got straight to business. âI looked into what you asked about.â
Emmanuel leaned in. âAnd?â
Santiagoâs expression was serious. âThereâs no record of any regular military base in Chanaea mobilizing. No sign of troop movements. No evidence of infiltration into Zovince before election day.â
âNothing?â Emmanuel frowned, his mind racing.
That doesnât make sense. Laura said the forces backing General Lenoir had been planning something big for three years. Wasnât it all building up to this election? Did I get it wrong?
âNothing,â Santiago confirmed. Then he added, âTeddy and the Zelinsky Family have layers of hidden influence. Itâs more complicated than we thought. Stay sharp.â

Emmanuel nodded. He didnât need the warningâhe was already preparing for every possibility.

This was a battle for dominance in Chanaca. Bloodshed was inevitable. He had already made peace with
that.
Santiagoâs gaze softened just a little. âFor now, Ethan has the upper hand in the election. Your job is to make sure he stays safe.â Then, with a rare smile, he added, âYouâve always been my best. Now that youâve rebuilt yourself, I expect nothing less.â
Emmanuel straightened, giving a respectful nod. âUnderstood, Master.â
Santiago didnât micromanageâhe trusted Emmanuel to get the job done.
After the call ended, Emmanuel sat back, deep in thought.
The West End is quiet. Nuthanaâs key players have all entered Zovince.
I need to move the Wolf Warrior troops to the outskirts of Eldoria. It borders Zovinceâif anything happens before election day, Iâll make sure we maintain order. Even if it means risking execution, Iâll send them in.
Meanwhile, Mackenzie had arrived at the Chamber of Commerce headquarters with the other representatives.
The building was just as grand as expectedâelegant, powerful, and dripping with wealth.
It was ironic. Her first time stepping inside, she was already taking over as Chairman.
Today was the official transition of leadership. The outgoing chairman was supposed to hand over authority, solidifying Mackenzieâs position.
However, there was just one problemâTeddy was nowhere to be seen.
Thirty minutes passed, and just as Mackenzie was about to send someone to track him down, he finally showed up.
He walked in with a group of men, moving as if he still owned the place.
Mackenzie didnât bother with pleasantries. âMr. Tanner, you have a real talent for wasting time.â
Teddy scoffed. âUnlike you, I actually have important matters to attend to.â
Mackenzieâs patience was long gone. âEnough talk. Hand over the Chamber of Commerce seal, and letâs make this transition official.â
